As I’ve gotten older and watched the previous generation start to shuffle off this mortal coil, have beaten the big C in my late 20s and began to lose a few friends too early, I resolved that my time is the most valuable thing in my life. I’ll never forget this… once I was trying to pass a man and woman with their cart at the end of a very long aisle. They were in the very middle. I couldn’t go around on either side of them. I said, “Excuse me.” No one budged. I thought perhaps they didn’t hear me. I said it again a little louder. The man looked at me and went to move the cart, but the woman grabbed it and said to him, “When I’m done.” That’s when I became “done.” I walked over to their cart, shoving it aside and pointing to the man with her, I said, “He may have to wait until you’re ‘done,’ but I don’t! Bank of America charged me $2 for a miscellaneous charge, in 1997. I called to ask what it was for because there was no reason. The lady on the phone said, well, I can't tell you because it is miscellaneous. I asked her to then please reverse it and she refused.
I pulled all three of my accounts from them and moved them to a credit union and ever since, full stop refuse to have a damn thing with that company.
I had my debit card declined at a gas station on a pay day, when my check was auto-deposited. Bank of America was right next door, so I popped inside. The teller very loudly berated me, saying my account had a hold put on it because I’d been “depositing” checks I’d written… immediately taking cash out of my account, knowing the checks were no good. The bank was giving me the cash, assuming the checks would clear. And I’d amassed more than $4000 this way. And the bank was going to press charges. By then, every customer in the lobby was staring at me, like I was scum of the Earth. Thoroughly embarrassed, I told the clerk to check again. Check MY account again. To look for those supposed deposit/withdrawals. Her face said it all. And in a low voice, that no one else could hear, she said, “I’m sorry. There’s obviously a mistake.” Loudly, I repeated, “YOU SAY YOU’RE MISTAKEN? IT’S NOT ME DOING THESE THINGS?” I withdrew all my money. Closed my account. And will not do business with them.

This, I dislike it when people give me the right of way when I don't have it. It confuses me and other road-users. I do not expect it, I expect I have to wait my turn, and then someone waves at me that I can go first, and I get confused and feel like I should hurry, and then if I go, I pay less attention to other stuff (like someone crossing the road next to me). There are exceptions - when it is really busy and you're on a side road, and there is no gap in sight to turn on the road as well. But not when there is no real need.

Yeah, this one is dangerous. The safest thing you can do driving is what is expected. That's also why turn signals are important.
The drivers handbooks I read all stated that the right of way is given, not taken. However, I agree with the posting. Take your darned turn. Too cautious a driver is almost as bad as too aggressive a driver.
The right of way is yielded to specific vehicles / pedestrians though. You don't give it as a gift, you give it as specified by law.

The problem is, many people have no idea WHO has the right of way at the stop. H*ll, THEY can't figure out who has the right of way at a TWO-Way stop if you got there at different times. There is a 2-way stop near my house that used to be a 4-way stop. The road running down the hill no longer has stops. They took them out almost 5 years ago. The cross-street has the 2 stops. Guess how many times in a week I have to stop going up or down the hill beside somebody whose muscle-memory sees a stop sign there? SMH
If you are in the right lane, and are NOT turning right at the light, GTFO of the right lane! Let us turning right use that as it's available!!!

I'm a cyclist and this really annoys me. I live next to a major cross roads with each of the four entry roads split into two lanes. Quite common in peak hour traffic for a driver in one lane to stop to let me cross. I refuse because there is another car coming up on the other lane that probably can't even see me as I am mainly hidden by the first car. The first car driver then gets pissed off
This drives my wife crazy. She's had a couple of near misses where some idiot waved her through and then got distracted and almost hit her. Now she'll just sit there, glare at the person who's allegedly trying to wave her through, and lay on her horn until the other person figures out that they're the ones who need to move.
As a former driving instructor, I'm going to get on my soap box for a sec. Not only is this super freaking annoying, it's also dangerous. YOU are responsible for your decisions as a driver. Understanding who has the right-of-way at all times can be life or death. Don't leave that decision to someone else! Ever!! If you're focusing on the stupid (but naively well-intentioned) Wave-er, you aren't paying attention to the 90 year old lady flying through the stop sign about to side swipe your car. You're not paying attention to the pedestrians stepping off the curb about to get crushed. If you're a driver-in-training testing for your license, you also just lost points on your test that could cause you to fail. Knowing who has the right-of-way and yielding is a responsibility you should NEVER give to someone else. Teach the wave-er a lesson and sit your a** right there until they feel stupid for waving at you!!!
I only do this when it's unclear whose turn it is. Happens quite frequently with mid-town 4-ways where people often get to the signs at the same time.
I pretend not to see their waving and just wait for them to give up and go.
I used to get this when waiting to turn onto the main road when coming off our housing estate. People would absolutely HAVE to cut the corner, across the wrong side of the street, and WOULD NOT TURN if you were waiting there. They would frantically wave you on even though you are on a stop sign, just so they could illegally and dangerously cut across the wrong side of the road to just get around the corner. Some would just wait 20metres down the road until you went, then drive up and turn in. If you cannot turn a corner properly you shouldn't have a license.
You don't get to make up rules. Follow the protocol and everyone gets out alive.
I also hate when you let someone go and they don't give the little obligatory wave of thanks. It makes me want to ram their car.

"Begs the question" does not mean "raises the question" or "brings up the question," even though it's recently been used that way often.
It's a specific term for a logical fallacy (basically, circular reasoning) -- because rather than arguing the question, you are begging that it be conceded. "You're begging the question," means you're using the point you're trying to prove as an argument to prove that very same point.

Don't hold the door for someone who is 30 feet away. Don't leave your dog outside all day. Don't hold your phone in front of you on speaker phone, that doesn't make it "hands free". Don't block any part of the sidewalk with your car. Don't leave the tap running. Put a bucket in the shower while it is getting to the desired temperature. Am average shower running for 3 minutes is almost 5 gallons of water.
One big one missing: When you have to give a phone number, bank, credit card etc. over the phone the reciver should repeat the numbers back. Same with complicated spelling
I have to disagree on the numbers except phone number. If you're calling a bank, you will be asked securoty questions to ensure it's you. If there's a mix-up with numbers, the representative will let you know. That person that you're speaking to is likely highly proficient with 10 key
