In today's age of cellphones, artists don't always get the best images to work with for their animal paintings. As a pet portrait artist, I think it is especially true.

Let's face it, the vast majority of the photos we have of our beloved, adorable pets are going to be from our phones. Since this format doesn't always yield the highest quality image, it can be frustrating to find out that your favorite pictures are too blurry, too dark, or in less than ideal scenery. This is where I can come in and get a bit creative.

With my hand-painted cute pet portraits, I try to clean up the image, bring in any lost detail, and sometimes change up the scene entirely to create the perfect composition for a unique painting. But most importantly, I aim to capture the spirit and essence of these adorable animals on canvas.

Below, you can view some of my favorites before and afters (source photo on the left and painting on the right). You can also see pets posing with their beautiful paintings in my previous post.

Thank you for checking out my work!
