If you think summer is too hot, too sweaty, and too long, you're probably getting more and more excited with each passing day. Fall is taking over next week and the season is once again bringing all of its friends: longer nights, prettier leaves, and... Halloween.
Most of the time you probably feel like an outsider—people usually dream of lying on a beach under the blazing hot sun with a refreshing cocktail in hand. But there are more like you, I promise. Maybe you just haven't met them yet because they're too busy ordering pumpkin spice lattes.

While this magical season puts on a spectacular and sprinkles stunning hues of red, orange, and yellow in many parts of the world, it enhances some spots more than others.
For example, take Paris, France. Fall is one of the best times of the year to visit this historical city because it's cheaper, less crowded, and possibly even more beautiful. Just imagine getting a chance to see the Palais-Royal Garden or Versailles surrounded by captivating colors.
My Russian students think it is so weird soup is seasonal in the US. Its a year round food here. But they are also grossed out by the canned soup too
I think I own those socks and those pants. As I don't have kids, I'm 95% sure this isn't a photo of me, but I have my doubts.
Have to admit, I've never enjoyed Summer and much prefer Autumn / Winter. I love the changing of the seasons, the changing of our trees and the chill in the air... Bliss....
Another place that will soon put on a show is the Million Dollar Highway (US Route 550). Think about it: Colorado's fall is so incredible it even has its own name. Indian summer. The aspen trees that line this route paint themselves in a fiery red, orange, and yellow this time of year.
On the other side of the globe, we have Kyoto. This Japanese gem was actually voted the best city in the world twice in a row by Travel + Leisure and features incredible food and impressive architecture, but the real showstopper is its fall foliage. The bright red leaves around Daigoji Temple take everyone's breath away.

Omg, same, I'm in Alaska, but I can't wear a tie and vest until it's actually cold. To quote Crazy Stupid Love, "I'm wearing a shirt and a tie and a sweater and a suede jacket that just seals in all the heat. Seals in all the juices. It's all sweat under here. This is just sweat from here down. This sweater, this is called slim cut, but it feels like a scuba suit."
I like the break of summer, but I HATE the heat and weather and mosquitoes. Fall/winter is the superior season

Lol I don't know why I bothered to read this when I know I can't relate. I'm down under where autumn is literally the most insignificant season. Like, there's Easter, which is a spring thing anyway and the leaves aren't even orange. But I can't wait for winter to be over. I need some spring vibes right now.
Some parts of Aus have true autumn. But not many. Fall in the USA, is just spectacular! I get SO jealous of their autumn and winter (in the snowy areas). But I'm with you about spring - can't WAIT for it to be here!!! Almost vegie planting season again!!

I' m in Central Florida, so it's ALWAYS summer. We get maybe a couple weeks of nicer weather between late November and early March, but the rest of the time it's hot air you can wear. One of the very few things I miss about working in an office is the very first day the temperature dips below 80℉, when Floridians come into work wearing their mukluks and parkas. You'd think we were expecting blizzards every day for three months.
NO!!! All you adults are so selfish, wishing for summer to end sooner so y'all can enjoy fall! The people who are still suffering through school have to return in a very short while. Lol
I've worked outdoors all my life and I'd much rather sweat in the sunshine than shiver in the cold SAD inducing dark. I don't complain about the head which makes it okay to bitch and moan about the cold all winter.
I can't wait to see the changing colors of the leaves, the crisp smell in the air, going for walks along the country back road wearing a sweater, scarf and light gloves and hearing the wind go through the leaves, homemade soup. I could go on.....
Oh gawd, I love Autumn...Its just too wonderful to describe. At least in the northern hemisphere. The leaves falling, the bite in the air, experiencing nature slowly getting ready to sleep for the next best season, Winter.
If only my place has four seasons...............Too bad we are struck with sun and rain....
Unfortunately fellow pandas, autumns already over for moi. Disadvantage to leaving in the Southern Hemisphere - we only really get autumn when you have spring, and spring and Halloween don't go that well together. NZ has plenty of other perks though!!
But isn't it easier to go around houses wearing thin costumes if it isn't as cold? Or are your costumes thicker? Granted, Halloween is not really celebrated where I live, but it's getting more popular. Only thing is: you cannot really see the costumes under the thick jackets we wear in the fall.

This is so opposite me. I am very willing to live half a year away from home so I can live only spring + summer.
I hate summer and love winter. Autumn is great as it heralds the cool weather and spring is depressing as it heralds stinking heat.
Local grocery store had Halloween candy out by mid-August, and I wanted to be mad about super early deco, but its Halloween, so I was actually excited instead.
I live in the UK. The Summers tend not to be too hot but my preferred season is Spring. I get horrendously depressed in Autumn and Winter and seeing the new growth around me and feeling the rain start to get less cold just lightens my heart. Autumn is the herald of the worse times of year for me. I enjoy the decorations of halloween as I'm a gothy/witchy type person but I absolutely hate the cold, dark days that we get here in the UK.
I don't like summer at all. It's way too hot, bees (by that I mean wasps, hornets, etc. honeybees are chill) and mosquitoes, and there's not routine. I also like school a lot
I live pretty much in a desert and we get summer for so long and then instead of the gorgeous autumn colors all the leaves immediately turn brown and drop and then it's winter...(still like it though because I can wear pants and long sleeves again)
Summer can go eat its heart out. Long live a temperature that is easy to negate.

This brings such a smile to my face. Being so far north, the only person we had come to our house in the woods behind the church in the dark for Halloween was my friend, and we gave him a buttton of candy. What a guy
