This time is the time of Game of Thrones, as hundreds of tweets, memes, and excited fans' reactions show. One simply cannot deny the global influence the Thrones phenomenon has, especially with the final season of the HBO series is rolling out every weekend. And while perhaps the fandom that dominates the social media sites after every Sunday might seem annoying to some, there is only one thing more irritating than someone being overtly passionate about something they like. It's the people who are overtly proud of something they dislike.
As hundreds of posts about Game of Thrones roll out daily in every corner of social media, more and more people boast about not watching the popular show in the comments. Perhaps thinking that it makes them special, those people wear that fact like a badge of honor. And while there are some who approve of their message, the TV series fans find it more or less irritating. That's why sooner or later they expressed their feelings on Twitter, banding together with their funny roasts to say what they really think.

Just because I do not care about something, that doesn't automatically mean I hate it.
A lot of people also tell me often that they watch GOT and that's why they are superior to others.
True, true. Quit watching GoT and you'll find time to do interesting things, to meet interesting people and to develop an interesing personality.

How does no one in this thread realize the only reason someone tells you they don't watch, is bc they don't know what you're talking about & you just assume they do
Most people have never watched a single episode of Game of Thrones. (Even only 14 million people out of 320 Americans watched the finale.) You can imagine how sick we are of you. I don't watch it is probably most people's polite way of saying, "For the love of God, shut the hell up about that stupid TV show!!!!"
So it is okay for people and the media to talk about it nonstop but if anyone says they don't watch it and don't care they are the problem and boring?
Here's the thing, it's FINE to not watch it, no one is going to kill you as a result, but the people who like to brag that they don't do a trendy thing get on everyone's nerves most of the time.
I've found it to be the opposite - people in my area brag that they DO watch it... and I think it's because HBO is a luxury, so they feel they have to brag.
Although you are correct, it is hypocritical for people who watch game of thrones to get mad about this because they always talk about the show in the same way people talk about not watching the show
And then there's the people who legitimately have not seen the show and are asking you to stop talking about it PLEEEASE

Can't someone just say something without it being perceived as bragging?
but who's bragging? nobody's bragging, and i don't see how it's bragging to not watch it if you're getting isolated from everybody who does. i can't watch it because i'm not old enough yet, but just because you don't watch something that isn't trendy doesn't mean you're not watching for that sole purpose

"Claim to dislike/don't do something popular" is sadly a trend to some people. That being said people that genuinly are not interest in something or disliking it shouldn't have to keep their opinions to themselves. Everyone is free of expressing it. As long as the purpose IS NOT to simply put their 2 cent in the conversation for trend sake or to annoy others.

Funny how media & internet can shit their self over a new game of thrones season but when someone says the don't watch it you get this???
Exactly. I watched one season but had read the books and got bored (always knowing what was going to happen). I do not tell people I don't/didn't watch it unless they ask - ( or there is a ridiculous BP post). The reaction is always over the top!! So weird.
My co-worker asked me if i watch game of thrones and i answered no and she overreacted how could i not watch the show.
Sounds much more like reality (and that's me saig it as a former watcher)
