There are a lot of purebred pets in shelters, sadly. Most of them used to be pets of people like this, who wanted a "trendy" breed to impress their friends, and then dumped them at the shelter when they got tired of them, or realized that dogs come with "some assembly required" and need to be taught how to behave.
I once adopted a purebred Malamute who had been in the "Bad Dog" section. The worst thing he ever did was steal my hamburger when I went through the drive thru. He also was a reverse racist. He loved my black friends, which led me to believe that his original owners were black. He was in the shelter for 20 days, 10 in the bad dog area, 10 in the regular section. We had already put in the papers on day one because we knew he wasn't bad.

Purebred= health problems. Mutts are healthier due to the gene diversity. Purebred also means possibly inbred! I tried to explain this to someone that only would buy purebreds and they argued with me stating that these 'health problems' I was speaking of were caused specifically from the polluted water in our region SMH!
Preferably blue-blooded Royalty. I have some Lords, Ladys, Barons, Baronesses, etc. in my ancestral line, but my favorite is Lady Elizabeth LaStrange. I think JK Rowling was snooping around my family. But I am American, so I am unable to adopt that particular kitty. Unless they made an exception.

I prefer moggies... have a shorthaired B&W tuxedo cat and a miniature black panther cat. I'd love to complement the family with a longhaired B&W and an all-black cat as well as two all white short and long haired. May also add a pair of grey cats... I'm not greedy :D
And they are bread to have extreme health problems because of their short legs. They can't even walk properly. Pure bread munchkins are not even viable. Stop that "but they are so cute" nonsense! You would not like to have a disabled human child "because it is sooo cute" would you?
