When you think about it, the internet is a democracy. Whether you're the President, an award-winning scientist, or just a spiteful troll, you can create a Twitter account and go from one thread to another, explaining to other users why they're stupid. However, if you're actually doing it, that's precisely what you need to keep in mind. It's just a matter of time before you run into someone who can call out your BS. And when that happens, you're going to end up on the subreddit r/DontYouKnowWhoIam. Like the name suggests, this online community is dedicated to those spicy moments when people were oblivious to who they were talking to, and has collected quite a lot of them since its inception in 2015. Here are some of the best ones.

Even though there's a line between self- and over-confidence, trusting in your judgment can help you become successful in life.

Both verbal and nonverbal communication can be extremely effective at garnering positive attention and influence in groups. According to one hypothesis (the presumption of calibration hypothesis), people generally assume others have the self-knowledge to know how confident they should be, and we also assume they will truthfully communicate this confidence to us (the so-called truth bias), unless extenuating circumstances suggest otherwise.

So whenever we see confidence, we tend to find it compelling, and we expect it to be justified.

Anyone else so sick of the vaccine argument? Should mention I'm not anti-vax. Have had covid twice myself. Edit: Was asked how I had it twice. First time I likely caught it in a post office. Only place I'd been for weeks as most of the country was shut. Second time my partner tested positive and then I did.

Interestingly, some research has reported that being overconfident while participating in a group activity did not damage the person’s reputation — individuals who trusted their task performance (but were later revealed to be worse at the task than they had claimed) did not suffer a severe drop in their social status in the group relative to someone who had been well-calibrated.

The researchers concluded that "the status benefits of overconfidence outweighed any possible status costs."

So extreme cases aside, being featured on r/DontYouKnowWhoIam might not be the worst thing that can happen to you.

And where are people looking things up? The scientist, who responded, is going to pursue colleagues but if not available she is going to look stuff up in peer reviewed journals. For science stuff, I try peer reviewed journals. Also, I go to trusted authorities such as the CDC or WHO or my local health office for vaccine information.

ALL The childhood vaccines went through trials and testing. mRNA Injection formulations have not. No vaccines are associated with adverse conditions or permanant damage common to all injected subjects. NONE of the approved vaccines, in use for many years, are associated with increasing levels and compounded damages. mRNA Injections do cause detectable damage. Do cause increased damage with every added injection ("booster"). With more severe conditions associated with each added injection, as found in 4 month post injection examinations and diagnostics. Even people dying of other causes are found with equivalent damages. Now a surge of non-viral hepatitis in teens and young adults - all with multiple injections.

Soooo sick of the covid rants guys... Seriously, if whoever wants/doesn't want the vaccine that's their choice. Point blank. Some people want an extra layer of protection and others don't feel like being early lab rats. People, ALL people, need to get over themselves. Of course an IMMUNOLOGIST is going to recommend a vaccine. That's their entire career. Still can't force people to get them and that doesn't mean you can't make mistakes just because you have a piece of paper that says your "smart". We're all just people.

The only thing the Ph.d didn't specify or actually got right is that on one hand true.. vaccines for childhood diseases worked because like most vaccines they take YEARS of research and clinical trials not weeks/months that the left did to push this crap out that is obviously not working if the vaxxed are supposedly still getting sick. I know vaccines and medicine work. Let's start there. But people act like saying natural remedies are just as effective, is ignorant, or selfish. My family is exempt from vaccines. We never caught covid(We still wear masks) and rarely get sick. Yes, herbal tea is what we use when we get sick. Does it work? Yes. It is not all we use, we sometimes buy run-of-the-mill cough syrup, along with tea(From my grandmother's garden), and do just fine. All I know is when I regularly got shots I would get sick often. We are perfectly healthy and are surviving just fine without constant vaccination.

NONE of childhood vaccines was in wide distribution during its trial phases. ALL were evaluated with tissue and animal / organism testing PRIOR to being used in human test trials. To date no mRNA product has been found safe for use in humans. NONE of the various formulations have yet completed the required series of testing or been evaluated as safe for use in human trials. Since part of what was skipped over are the trial phases that prior mRNA products failed. The trial phases needed to seek approval status for use in humans. Based on the width and depth of damages, harms, and adverse conditions known associated with mRNA formulation injections; the formulations are not safe for use in humans. The Janssen vaccine has shown potential for use in humans, if or when reformulated to reduce current adverse events, including sudden death of healthy individuals. Far less deaths than any of the mRNA formulations, but more than any approved vaccine, by any medicines authority.

And so we go, pounding our puffed out primate chests, no citing of actual facts required of anyone. I prefer to go to the zoo and watch feces hurled literally. I find the simple honesty of our evolutionary peers refreshing. ¶ If you have children, I beg you… Please teach them that "argument" is not in fact anything resembling a synonym for "fight." Please teach them that in public discourse, an unsupported opinion has the same status as a fart in a crowded elevator, with the exception that the latter is sometimes uncontrollable and therefore forgivable.

Can we please stop making the vaccine an argument? It's all I hear all the time. It's really tiring. As a young teenager, why should I have to be attacked for my views? I grew up taught by my parents to view things this way, and probably as were you. I am really tired of getting attacked for my views or opinions. My opinion shouldn't really be any of your business, so why are you asking if I'm vaccinated or not? I'm scared of what I should tell you. Will you like if I'm not vaccinated, or will you not speak to me for it? Will you dislike me if I'm vaccinated, or will you appreciate me? It's confusing. I think we should go on minding our own business and let people do what they want to do. I'll mind my business if you do. Just thought I would put that out there :). It feels a lot better getting that off my shoulders and out there :). If you disagree, I don't blame you. If you agree, then sweet, I'm sorry you're frustrated too.

Vaccination is important. Your views don't need to reflect your parent's views. Being young isn't an excuse, I disliked antivaxxers when I was a teenager too. (Back then it was measles returning because antivaxxers were too selfish to keep their children safe) You need to look deeper into WHY this is an issue instead of burying your head in the sand. Everybody has a civic duty. I'm frustrated that the safety of everybody is being pushed so hard against. Same with anti maskers. Is it SO HARD to not breathe covid spray onto everybody? I'm frustrated nobody has a sense of duty to their fellow humans. None of these people would have survived the Spanish Flu in 1920, or WWII era rationing. The very concept of helping everybody with small actions or a slight interruption of personal comfort is impossible for them, and that is so damn depressing.

She did she just trusted the same people that put all the “information” out there that they are “safe” People are very trusting. They don’t look at the opposite side of the coin. If they believe in something they don’t want to hear anything that might disprove what they believe in. VitaminD, Fresh sunshine, herbs, minerals. Breathing. Seriously! Inhaling oxygen exhaling out the Co2. People these days are breathing bad s**t back in all the time and wonder why they’re sick! Eating junk food. Staying inside all the time. I have not worn a face diaper once this while charade, i will not get vaxxed, I have RA and other health issues but I have not once been sick. Of course I’m not running out getting my blood brain barrier scraped either. Getting that scraped constantly to where it’s useless and thin and not protecting against anything isn’t exactly helping all you Followers of “Saint Fauci”

"sAiNt FaUcI" Not everybody worships the people we take important advice from. Trumpers assume everybody has a god emperor to worship just like them. Where's your degree in anything health related? Sorry I trust people with extensive education on the subject rather than those who cherry pick some random very biased sources. Everybody knows all those things are good for you, but vitamin D isn't preventing Covid. Research based medicine does. Before the newest variant over 98% of Civid hospitalizations were unvaxxed, while vaxxed got it less, and much lighter symptoms. Where's your logic for that?
