Like the name suggests, this online community is dedicated to those spicy moments when people were oblivious to who they were talking to, and has collected quite a lot of them since its inception in 2015. I once was in a shopping Store waiting patiently for another till to open as it was getting busy when the lady behind me pushed in, when the young till operator questioned her and said i was before her she started a whole hooha and talking loudly and swearing how dare she say that to her a valued customer. The whole shop was looking at her, i said its fine you take the position i can wait, she got more angry and demanded to see the manager and that she would get me kicked out of the Store, i said go ahead lets see what he says. The young till girl called for the manager who came out of his office and tried to reason with the irate customer that i wasnt disputing anything even though she had clearly pushed in. Her reply was, i want her removed from the Store as she makes me uncomfortable saying i was accusing her. The manager turned to me and said loudly.... Mum see what you've done and we both burst out laughing!! The womans face was worth the hassle! even the young till girl laughed.
I read a story about 2 mature women walking into a store. The clerk is sitting on a stool at the counter on his laptop. One woman walks over and forcefully slams his laptop shut.She yells " You are paid to work not to play on your laptop" The clerk ? He said " I am the owner and you are now banned from my store. get the f**k out" He kicked them out for life.
Entitled type woman I know of had an issue with her daughters ex so she went into Wal-Mart where his mother worked and tried to make trouble for her. Manager permanently banned the troublemaker. I know the other woman as well and she was the better person even before it all took place. Sometimes you really have to love karma.

Unthinkable in most of Europe. If you act like that towards an employee, you'll get asked to stop nicely once. Then it's not so nice and it can get you thrown out rather easily. Or even banned. You can't just be impolite to a customer for nothing. But you don't have to take unreasonable sh!t from them either.

I worked for a screw machine manufacturer for 23 years. I would constantly get calls from men with questions. When I tried to help they would want to someone technical. Each and every time I would say "Just give me a shot" Almost every time the question was so basic (what is an outside diameter?") I had all I could do not to laugh. I'd answer their questions and then quite often get "Oh, I guess you do know".
I saw a great shirt yesterday--it had a name tag that read "Manager" and said "Don't tell Karen you saw me."
So funny! I am a veterinarian and the owner of my practice. Had a very rude client that would not take no for an answer. Demanded to see the owner. I looked at her and said "I am the owner, it is my final decision and I'm not going to do XYZ."
I used to work in a store in times square where most employees were black or south Asian and a lot of the customers were white European or white south american tourists. The customers REFUSED to be told what to do by the managers who were black. I saw this so many times! And they only wanted to be helped by white sales associates! I had never heard so much racist stuff in my life before that job. When I told one woman that we were closed so she should make her way to the exit, she said "if you didn't want to work late you should have gone to college." I was an MPH student at Columbia at the time working my way through grad school. When I called the manager over, she wanted evidence that he was indeed the manager because she didn't believe that a black guy with a Dominican accent could be the store manager. SECURITY had to be called on her racist classist ass.
Why should anyone want to get someone fired? Except reeeeaally good arguments.
I think the kind of person that wants to fire others is looking for some kind of power in their lives because they feel particularly powerless at that point in their life. And a lot of people want someone to pay for their unhappiness so they find someone—anyone who they can make suffer. It's rarely the person who made them feel unhappy and powerless. It's a form of bullying I think. If they can't make a positive change in their own situation they will make a negative one in someone else's. There is a huge lack of empathy in those people. They can't understand that they could be taking away food from some child's mouth because their parent didn't jump through hoops to make them happy. It would have to be an extremely bad situation (life endangerment) for me to even think of suggesting dismissal. If it was bad shouldn't the employee just be reeducated about the situation and retrained on how to do it properly? People deserve a second chance almost always.

I had this happen to me before in retail. I was relieving another cashier for their lunch break and they had held an item for a customer under the register which was against policy. The lady(the customer) came up and asked me to hold something else and I let them know that I couldn't speak for my coworker's actions but I couldn't since I was going to follow our policy. She got really irate. There was a dramatic scene with her pointing at me, "I'm going to call corporate on this one! I'm going to get you fired!". All in front of my manager.
At my recent job there were times with my position where I was the acting manager. But when people would ask to see the manager (because they were being turned away for not being vaccinated, which we were required by law to need proof of vaccination as well as masks) I would just say no. So many of these people are bullies and don't expect push back because they expect workers to be in fear. A lady told me to get over it when I told her to wear her mask. When I told her to wear her mask or leave, you better believe she kept it on.
To use a name to explain a bad behaviour can complicate things for people having that name. Or do you refer to the behaviour it self? I agree on both!

If I was that manager I would have angrily turned and fired Her. Then turned back to the customer and ask her if she has a job for me because you just made me fire the owner.
This is only a partial of the full 'conversation'. The funniest part is that the customer keeps yelling at the manager and won't let him finish his statement after trying several times. So he finally looks at the lady and says 'You are fired'. He then turns around to leave and the customer asked we're are you going?. He turns around and tells the customer he going to the unemployment office. She looks confused and asks why. He looks at her and says, because you made me fire the owner.

Ah people judging someone before getting all the facts. I've lived with this all my life. Despite having 20 years under my belt doing what I do, often people that don't know me can get pretty snarky. Not shaving for a week helped as I pass the 40 mark. Prior to that, it was pretty frustrating.

My literature teacher for 4th grade never called on me to answer questions. I was confused because I was the most advanced reader in that class. I talked to her after class one day, asking why she never called on me. She said “Sorry kiddo, but I think you would just confuse the other kids with how you pronounce words.” This was because I had a lisp back then and pronounced every word that had double o’s or just one o with an r.
I used to work at an airport, manager for the company that handled the restaurants. One Saturday my assistant manager and myself were inventory counting a Caribou Coffee and this sill looking skinny white guy walks up. Plaid short only the top button fastened, wife beater, baggy jeans, the ball cap with the razor straight bill and a lot of bling. Unpopular opinion I'm sure, but my goodness I am so sick of hearing about covid arguments. We get it. People will never agree on something that shouldnt have anyone arguing in the first place and everyone wants to be the big dog on top and show somebody else up. Great. Cool. People will never agree on something that shouldnt have anyone arguing in the first place and everyone wants to be the big dog on top and show somebody else up. Great. Cool. People suck, pets are life. Can we move on now?
My friend had a good one like this. They (my friend's pronoun) was arbitrarily labelled as a 'white male' at birth, and they was trying to go to an event once, and the organizer said at the entrance: 'Sorry, this is only for black women.' So they replies: 'I IDENTIFY as a black woman!' You should have seen how surprised the organizer looked!
