However, if you're actually doing it, that's precisely what you need to keep in mind. It's just a matter of time before you run into someone who can call out your BS. And when that happens, you're going to end up on the subreddit r/DontYouKnowWhoIam. Like the name suggests, this online community is dedicated to those spicy moments when people were oblivious to who they were talking to, and has collected quite a lot of them since its inception in 2015. the "rock fandom" (I'm pretty sure there are better words for this but english is not my first language so I dont know them) is really so annoying, even more when you are a woman, you cant walk 3 steps with a band t-shirt without being questioned if you actually like the band, their songs or stuff like who is the owner of the mother of the dog of the 1st bassist's cousin, and don't you even try to play a song and post it online because you will always be "kinda good for a girl", doesn't matter how well you play... they always complain rock is dying but if you create a new band even if you are a man, you will never be good for them (thanks god, since they can only like people who are already dead)

I've been listening to Alice Cooper since I was a little kid mowing lawns with Billion Dollar Babies blasting on the guys 8-track player. I'm 55 now and when I go to shows, stores, etc.. and see younger kids with old rock/metal band shirts on, I always comment 'nice shirt', 'excellent band', etc... Most of the time it starts a friendly conversation and I get to share the 80's war stories when you could mosh and party like you were immortal. It also allows me to hear about new and upcoming bands I'm unaware of. \m/(>,<)\m/

Ah people judging someone before getting all the facts. I've lived with this all my life. Despite having 20 years under my belt doing what I do, often people that don't know me can get pretty snarky. Not shaving for a week helped as I pass the 40 mark. Prior to that, it was pretty frustrating.
I look a quite a lot younger and at work i often get asked if im helping out my mom or dad. Im a chef for 10 years.

My literature teacher for 4th grade never called on me to answer questions. I was confused because I was the most advanced reader in that class. I talked to her after class one day, asking why she never called on me. She said “Sorry kiddo, but I think you would just confuse the other kids with how you pronounce words.” This was because I had a lisp back then and pronounced every word that had double o’s or just one o with an r.
I used to work at an airport, manager for the company that handled the restaurants. One Saturday my assistant manager and myself were inventory counting a Caribou Coffee and this sill looking skinny white guy walks up. Plaid short only the top button fastened, wife beater, baggy jeans, the ball cap with the razor straight bill and a lot of bling. I looked at said in a low voice ‘Look at this Vanilla Ice wanna be MFer’. Then a guy comes RUNNING across the terminal and is shaking homeboy’s hand and gushing over him. It WAS Vanilla Ice, who had played a show the night before. He was actually really cool too.
