We know, we know, it’s super cool to hate stuff. But we feel like it takes a lot outta you, emotionally. Sometimes, it’s refreshing to focus on the positives in life. Taking a step back, and weighing things in your mind in a balanced way, can grant you a new perspective in life.

That’s where one viral r/AskReddit thread comes in. Redditors from all walks of life shared their opinions about which people and things are hated “for no reason.” Check out what they said below, and upvote the posts that you agree with, Pandas. If you’d like to share your opinions on what things really get a ton of undeserved criticism, drop by the comments and let us and all the other Pandas know.

Pssst, Pandas, when you’re done with this list, we’ve got another post about all the things that (according to some on the internet) don’t deserve hate right over here. Grab yourself a mug of tea or a cup of coffee and check it out.

Bored Panda got in touch with Mike Sington, an entertainment, pop culture, and lifestyle expert from LA, to get his thoughts about hate on social media, why negative news wins out over positivity, and why people enjoy seeing celebrities fall. He also shared his opinion about a star who'd fallen from grace but later rose back up. Scroll down for our full interview with Mike, Pandas!

Entertainment and pop culture expert Mike, aka Hollywood's Ultimate Insider, told Bored Panda that people enjoy hating individuals, things, and trends on social media because mob mentality is at play.

"People enjoy being part of a gang that can pile on, and hate things, on social media. Plus it can be done anonymously, from behind a screen, in the comfort of your home," he explained.

"It’s much harder for positive, wholesome news to stand out. The negative tends to upset us or anger us, which grabs our attention viscerally."

Entertainment expert Mike said that fans tend to look up to celebrities, and some even put them on a pedestal.

"So when they fall from grace and mess up, there’s almost a sense of relief. It can be enjoyable to some people because the celebrity becomes more relatable. People realize things can go wrong in a celebrity’s life, so they’re really not that different from myself," the expert said.

Equal rights for all is feminism. End of story. All the pushback is from men who don't want to give up their privilege (equality for all also means everyone is responsible and accountable for their own actions), or women who have been gaslit into thinking they don't deserve equal treatment.

Much like CRT, gender theory, atheism, abortion, and transitioning queer kids, the people against feminism have zero clue what it is, what it does, or how it works. If you think feminism means "teaching that women are better than men!" nope, not at all. You've been lied to. And no, "humanism" is not better, nor the same thing. The point of feminism is to name the thing that has been vilified, and it's all things perceived as feminine/for women. So that includes a man crying or a man being raped, and being shamed for it. Feminism helps everyone.

My coworker is like that. He told me “this girl I know is a feminist, but the bad kind, the kind that thinks she should get everything handed to her and she’s better than everyone.” I was like “….that’s not what feminism is.” He kept trying to argue with me “no feminism teaches that women are better than men, that’s what my mom told me, she’s a feminist etc.” I was like, “no, that’s not feminism. That’s not what feminism means.” He still doesn’t get it, I got too frustrated to keep going. It hurts my heart to think that some mean really believe that’s what feminism is - that belief is just going to keep holding everyone back :(

Depends son how agressive they are: if its just political or stereotypes pressure, i actually agree with many topics... but i hate when they try to "bully" because i am white straight male, i mean - did i *personally* did something to you? They really just hurt their image and image of what "equality" means... and worse are lies that i am *sure* they are not true. Feminazis are basically same as male opressors, just without a d**k but with period (they too, are bound by stereotypes).

So true! People read/meet/hear one ultra radical person and decide the whole group is the same. And it takes so much time and patience to explain the basic idead that one doesn't equal all. It's a bit funny when the same person expresses disgust towards feminism and supports the exact same values of the movement in the same sentence.

They say that the most powerful force for good is enlightened self-interest. I support feminism for a lot of reasons, most of them just common sense. But another reason is this - When I'm laying on my death bed, I don't want to be asking myself "Maybe some doctor could have discovered a cure for what's killing me, but she was told that girls should grow up to be nurses, not doctors". When one person is prevented for living up to her potential, everybody loses.

There are self-described feminists who I don't much like, however they are all either white women who ignore issues facing minority women (black, disabled, etc.) or are outright exclusionary (TERFs, SWERFs). IMO feminism has to be about empowering and improving the lives of all women, without exception, and those groups don't meet that definition. Instead they remind me of the pigs in Animal Farm: "some are more equal than others".

Equal rights = no hitting at all, anyone. Hitting or getting hit is not a good brag for men, it makes men look unintelligent and reactive. So, no, we don't want equal rights to go backwards, we want you to act like a woman should, and don't choose violence to solve issues. In other words, we don't want to be equal to YOU, we want all *evolved* individuals to be equal.

Oh, it’s definitely fun to grumble about something or other, and spend a good minute fuming about the state of the world and that darn [insert least favorite public figure and/or celebrity]. Most of us enjoy letting off a bit of steam and complaining about this and that. It’s the national pastime in many a country.

However, holding on to all of that hate, constantly living with so much anger, is really an awful way to treat your body and mind. Not to mention that you might make your friends and loved ones reconsider spending time in your company if all you do is moan about everything. 30 Things That Are Pretty Much Universally Hated By Most People For No Good Reason Guys liking “feminine” things. I grew up in Vietnam and lived there until the age of 15. I’m a guy who played dolls and house with my elder sister (who is 6 years my senior) when I was 5-6 and subsequently received so much flak and jeering from fellow elementary classmates (both boys & girls) as well as homeroom teachers after I accidentally blurted out about my “abnormal” playing activities to the world (or my small world).

Luckily, my parents just let me be.

Professor Suzanne Degges-White, from Northern Illinois University, recently explained to Bored Panda why we’re drawn more to the negative than the positive in the news. The licensed counselor also shared exactly how too much anger can harm us in a very real way.

“Constant anger can lead to metabolic diseases, cardiovascular problems, and digestive issues. For some people, health concerns are the reason that they may learn to let go of anger,” the professor warned.

“While being angry can lead to social change and begin to topple barriers and other aspects of injustice, we also know that anger isn't going to be the best choice to build alliances or convince others of the need for change. Finding common ground is essential in making true, collaborative change. This requires us to let go of anger, whether that is finding a way to sublimate it or overcome it, or just put it aside for the time being,” she said.

As for why we enjoy hearing negative things more than wholesome stories, well, we’re hardwired that way.

“When it comes to hearing information about the darker aspects of humanity, our brains experience greater stimulation when we hear stories of depravity than of kindness. It also has a ‘feel-good aspect’ for some folks as it normalizes and minimizes their own dark aspects or negative traits,” the professor explained to Bored Panda.

“Whether it's greed, anger, promiscuity, and so on, when we hear just how bad someone else has been, it can make us feel better about our own tendencies towards the dark side traits. It also lets us imagine vicariously what it would be like to be ‘that bad. It's kind of like watching all the true crime shows—we enjoy being scared, we enjoy seeing into the minds of people doing things we never would, and it's exciting and novel to see just how far people can go in terms of their dark sides.”

Exactly! I also don't trust myself to assemble the parts without accidentally breaking or damaging something so I'll leave that responsibility with someone else! My prebuilt PCs have always been good to me.

Ah, yes, another way to minimise teens and teen girls' feelings. Then again, us Gen X-ers think we perfected emo and goth anyway, so hit us up if you want to know how to light your 99c black Maybelline eyeliner so it melts and smudges just right.

30 Things That Are Pretty Much Universally Hated By Most People For No Good Reason New Music.

A ton (not all) people think their generation's music was better than whatever is current.

It is hard to accept that your teenage music sucked to the generation before. It is a cycle and the wheels keep on turning.

I think the problem is; new music hasn't been sorted through yet, because, well, it's new. So, yeah, sure, there's lots of bad stuff. But there's also tons of good stuff too. The stuff that's older, the junk doesn't tend to get played anymore. So, it's usually all the best stuff of that decade. I think there's also a nostalgia factor as well.

30 Things That Are Pretty Much Universally Hated By Most People For No Good Reason Gen Z. Yeah, they do some cringy sh*t, but I have peers in their 30’s and 40’s who also do some cringy s**t.

30 Things That Are Pretty Much Universally Hated By Most People For No Good Reason Chris Pratt. I'll never understand why Twitter progressives hate him so much. "He's part of a homophobic church" they say. But you know who else is? AOC and Joe Biden. "He didn't endorse Biden so he must be a Trump supporter." I can't understand how anyone could possibly think this makes sense when he literally donated money to Obama in 2012.

I don't get the whole "if you're not with us you're against us" sh!t. There's a middle ground, you know.

I'm sure when he feels sad from all the hate comments, he just takes a dive at his pool full of coins, scrooge mcduck style

I think for this one it's more like a 'don't use it in a professional setting if you want to be taken seriously'. This ranges from inter-office memos to billboards.

I got called ‘another lying lib’ at the gas station as I put $30 of gas in my car to while he put $150 in his tiny manhood compensator truck … Do they not see the irony ..?? I gave up long ago …
