The United States government has sent out stimulus checks to some residents to help keep them afloat during the coronavirus quarantine. It’s all some people are talking about, so it’s no wonder that these checks have become the focus of a lot of jokes on the internet.

The checks are each worth 1,200 dollars and internet users are joking about how they’re already planning to buy TVs, laptops, and spend the money as soon as they can. While others are poking fun at the fact that it’s now the IRS sending them money, instead of the other way around.

“We can confirm that payments are beginning to arrive in some Americans’ accounts," a senior Treasury official told ABC News. Scroll down for the best stimulus check jokes that Bored Panda has compiled, upvote your faves, and let us know in the comments what you’re going to do with your check if you live in the US, dear Pandas. And read on for Bored Panda's interview with financial expert Sam Dogen, founder of the Financial Samurai blog, about stimulus checks and how much they'll help Americans out.

Does the weak Cheeto represent the poor leadership of the Orange Cheeto in the White House?

"So long as Americans are spending the money, that helps stimulate and support the economy. Although saving money is good, saving money actually doesn’t do much in the short run to help the economy. In the long run, maybe it helps by creating more financially secure people to not become a burden," Dogen from the Financial Samurai told us.

"I believe everything is rational. If people want to use their money to spend on TVs and other things, its because they’ve got their basics already taken care of. Here’s how millionaires are spending their checks."

Your "check" comes with tRump's name on it ... just like his "charity" ... he got others to give him money then put his name on the checks like it was his money to give. The only exception with his charity and the stimulus check, he usually paid himself.

This is something that needs to be realized? Anything provided to anyone by the government is at the expense of tax payers. This is no genius revelation, this is something every American should be considering, every day.

Yes, but were you ever provided anything by the government before? Usually it just went into the government's slush fund, and to take us down, by funneling it to Iran, China, United Nations, bailing out bankers. Think of what this man is doing. He is finishing what JFK started.

There are so many politicians who have stolen from tax money, or other areas of the budget, there's actually no excuse for the Fed going further into debt. We're being given part of what's owed to us. Trump should also hunt down was what stolen by politicians and *poof* budget balanced.

Good news, Kristina. Trump has been doing that in the background, while distracting MSM to keep them busy. Look up his executive orders to freeze bank accounts of those who've stolen from us. Look at all the CEOs that have resigned from major companies, and from our govt. It is all working with military to get it done. You can find a lot of info on qmap.pub. God bless you.

This basic point seems to be far beyond the conception of most people: there's no such thing as a free lunch - someone is paying: it's being tacked onto the national debt. Who pays when the US national debt has to be serviced (meaning some payments have to be made that the govt. owes)? All US taxpayers, us. It isn't 'free money'.

Exactly. You paid taxes so the government can use that money to do stuff for the country. Like paving streets and paying schools and paying for water-cleaning and federal agencies (like for example the CDC). You already PAID for that stuff, and it is not "handouts" or "a gift" if the goverment does those things for you. Of course one can argue that nobody paid taxes so one day the President could give every citizen 1200$, but I'll wager that it's probably a lot more useful than, for example, buying a tank or a submarine or guns for the military. It's actually the Government's JOB to protect its people, but somewhere along the long line of presidents (and I'm not excluding the Democratic ones), that job-description got muddled and eventually, lost.

The $2 TRILLION stimulus checks AND the PPP (over 20% of which went to big franchises and chains) AND the $1.5 TRILLION tax giveaway to the top 2% by Republicans last year are tax burdens far into the future. (P.S. It's been revealed that Jared Kushner's family businesses received $800 MILLION in apartment funding for their tri-state slumlord operation.)

And since our government has so much huge debt after the "tax breaks" given to corporation and the rich, we the people will be PAYING BACK THIS MONEY for the rest of our lives! And paying taxes on this $1,200.00. And people think the monster-in-chief "cares about us" and is doing this to "help us?" UNBELIEVABLE.

In Canada people were applying for our stimulus type check and applying for unemployment insurance at the same time. They received both a 2000 stimulus check and their first unemployment check. They were like whoo whoo I have all this money now. Then the government informed them that the 2000 stimulus check would count toward their unemployment insurance. Instead of 4 mths of unemployment insurance benefits they would only only get 3. Nothing is for free from the government people.

POTUS is giving the citizens the money that the bankers, congress, NWO, etc. robbed from us. He has survived numerous assassination attempts for us, and you are too ungrateful to look up the facts. The whole military is backing him. He's had M13 rounded up(Hillary's, Bushs, and Obama's, hitmen) He never says he is giving to us, but credits our own military. But he says things to make the MSM and their snowflakes and asshat followers cry. They ask for it.

Tax may be paid by the citizens, but it's not 'our' money, like it's put into some kind of savings account just for you to access when you need it. This one is just stupid. But my blood pressure is going to spike when my check arrives and I see the cheeto's name on it.

More importantly, YOU have to pay it back through taxes in the future, plus interest so be careful what you wish for.

It never ceases to amaze me how Trump's supporters selectively choose to ignore what a greedy, self-serving con artist he is. NOTHING he does is for any purpose other than to stroke his ego and line his own pockets. He doesn't give a s**t about the country or its citizens. It will be interesting to see how much of the stimulus package he siphons off into his own businesses and those of his useless children. He should be in prison, not the WH.

I don't think most people know this. That this is actually just an advance on your 2020 tax return, not free money.

Incorrect. My dad is an accountant. This is NOT an "advance" on your tax return. Please dont spread misinformation.

Dogen believes that 1,200 dollars per person should help individuals for at least a month. "If you add on the extra 600 dollars a month in unemployment benefits, that’s a decent amount of money," he said.

"For example, in California, you can get 4,200 dollars a month in unemployment benefits now. And then if you add on another 1,200, that’s 5,600 dollars. It’s really the added unemployment benefits that will really help those who have lost their jobs," Dogen pointed out.

I recommend coming to Norway. Here tax authorities help you get a higher tax return. Quite a shock if you paid taxes before in another country...

In the meantime, think about this from Forbes . . . Americans making 1 Million will receive $1.7 million stimulus checks . . . https://www.forbes.com/sites/shaharziv/2020/04/14/why-are-rich-americans-getting-17-million-stimulus-checks/#643e0518665b

The BBC reports that President Donald Trump’s name will be printed on the paper checks that will be sent out to financially-struggling Americans. This is the very first time that a US president’s name will show up on a federal government handout.

Not surprisingly, some are worried that this decision might delay checks arriving. The president denied that there will be a delay, as did the Treasury Department. However, two senior IRS officials told the Washington Post that the first batch of checks might arrive slower because of this.

"You are getting your money late because the President thinks it is more important that his name be on the cheque than that you are able to pay your bills on time," Democratic Senator Brian Schatz shared his opinion on Twitter.

The stimulus checks are part of a 2 trillion (that’s right, trillion) dollar relief package that will help out more than 80 million US citizens. And Americans need it now more than ever. Around 16 million people lost their jobs in the US just in the past month and the situation may get worse before it gets better.

I'm putting it in savings rather than checking so I don't spend it accidentally. I have a disability claim with Social Security that could take up to a year to be resolved, so I might need it before then.

This would mean, in most cases, that your parent(s) is/are spending way, way, way more than $1200 each year to support you and put you through college.
