I live in Michigan, where our governor's emergency orders have been overturned by the state supreme court, and even though the state health department has issued their own, similar orders (complete with fines for noncompliance), it's now like a free-for-all here. No one is enforcing the health department's mandate. Stores still have signs up requiring masks for entry, but no one is stopping those who enter without them, or people enter with them on and then take them off, or push them down below their chin when they're in the store. Some people still wear masks, but SO many are not - and if you even glance at them sideways, they're ready to fight - over a freaking mask. I am seeing so many people not wearing masks now, and we are having a sharp rise in cases again because of it. The winter is going to be really, really bad - we are not a warm weather state, so winters mean everyone staying inside more and in close proximity to each other. This isn't going to be good.

I'm on the train for four and a half hours every single day with my mask on (big commute). Yeah it's hot and annoying and it sucks that I can't have a drink, but if there's even the slightest possibility to prevent even one person from getting this disease because of it, I'm happy to do it. A lot of the blame, can be laid upon our government, and "government" doctors.. There is so much misinformation out there regarding Sars-Cov2 and the Covid disease. Even the CDC website posting misinformation.. In all honesty, The Corona Virus doesn't hold the numbers to be classed as a pandemic (according to the CDC), the Covid Disease is scary AF. but the virus itself (Corona Virus (or best known by its official name Sars-Cov2) isn't any more dangerous than the Sars Virus in which it is part of. HOWEVER: the Damage done to the human body from the mutation from the Corona Virus to Covid Disease is terrifying. The Disease leaves scar tissue in your lungs, and heart, it attacks your liver and kidneys, it leaves stroke like symptoms in your brain, it also attacks your gastrointestinal tract, and red or purple rashes that show up on the toes and fingers of COVID patients (usually children). Lastly it is the only Virus / disease that also attacks the Immune system, and damages it.
So grateful I can work from home indefinitely. have everything I need delivered and have a big balcony I can sit out on during the day so I can be outside but away from people.

I know this really nice lady, she's into crystals and aurora stuff. I liked her even though I found her peculiar. She came into the library a couple of weeks ago and announced that she has a medical issue and can't wear a mask, so can she come in. I stuttered, cause I know very well she doesn't have one, but our policy/rules is that we ask each person to wear one, but we can't enforce it or withhold service. It's disheartening that a lady I quite liked is so stuck up and selfish. She can only think about her own comfort and doesn't care one iota about my health or literally anyone else around her. I had thought she was better than that. In retrospect, I should have called her out on it. But I am an introvert, so confrontation isn't exactly my strong suit.

But the car she made fun of me for wearing a mask in the car and for asking her to wear a mask. After we went shopping and walking all around the grocery store, she got in the car and took off her mask. I now refuse to take her anywhere in my car again. She doesn't understand why.
