When coronavirus turned into one of the greatest public health crises back in 2020, things like we knew them before changed beyond recognition. Not only did toilet paper become a hot commodity, but basically, a new kind of dictionary was born to reflect the current times. Hence, the term ‘covidiot’ emerged to refer to someone who, as Urban Dictionary puts it, “ignores the warnings regarding public health or safety. A person who hoards goods, denying them from their neighbors.”
The term has been in use a lot lately, and this is partly due to the fact that, no matter how much worse the pandemic may get, some members of society still act as if not a single thing has changed. The worst of it is that engaging in such behaviors like throwing decadent parties, refusing to wear face coverings, and calling Covid-19 a hoax not dissimilar to 5G puts everyone at risk.

I think I'm getting so used to it I don't notice it anymore. There are times I've arrived home or in my car that I still have it on and have forgotten to take it off.
If ima run errands I pull it down when I'm in the car or if I have one of my lanyards on I let if dangle. Sometimes though when I get off work, I still have it on when I get home and don't notice until like 5 minutes in. It's just become second nature to me. I think that those of us that wear it like we're supposed to will feel so foreign when the day comes that we don't have to wear them anymore. I can't speak for everyone but I know I will feel weird not wearing mine.

I keep 5 masks in my bag at all times. I also have multiple stashed in my car and at my work station. When I start to feel hot, humid, gross, or my glasses start fogging, I take off my mask, knot it, throw in my bag, and take out a fresh mask. You shouldn't be wearing the same one all day - they get damp from your breath and are less effective. Also, more likely to fog your glasses. Then, I wash them when I get home & hang them to dry; all ready for tomorrow! Tedious, yes, but way more comfortable.
Even worse, the halloween ones are probably thicker and hotter/less breathable.
I hate wearing masks but wear one every time I'm on shift at the hospital for 12 hours. I work full time and pick up extra shifts to help out covid wards that are struggling for staff. People need to stop being so selfish.
No-one likes wearing masks some people ( the moaners)are just too precious about their own discomforts to realise so are we all.

When it comes to responding to Covid deniers, Dibs believes that being armed with information is a good way to go. “Like, I live near LA, where someone dies every 8 minutes from COVID right now. I might say something like, 'Hey, did you know that 1 in 50 people have COVID in our neighborhood? I wonder if you’re that one person? Probably, since I’ve been around 50 people today and you’re the only one who didn’t have a mask on!'” He added that he enjoys being passive-aggressive, which is not exactly the same as plain old aggressive.

People need to get that this is not about them, it is not about any single incident ... of course, if I go to the store without a mask, each one time in itself will have a low likelihood of me catching the virus. But I have to go to the grocery store about once a week, so this adds up. There are about 500000 people living in a radius of 20 miles around me, and in every household, one does about the same every week ... the low likelihood certainly will lead to some infections, it just isn't every other week for everyone, only for some. Damned, everybody knows how to avoid contact, everybody could know it works, and the masks are just a little uncomfortable, something everybody can endure... Not that hard. Not that much that is aksed. A little compassion and reason - so little I always have thought everyone has it - is all it takes. Antimaskers are assholes.

Even though I did not have a fever, my doctor told me I could have had COVID-19 because it is estimated up to 40% of people who have had it did not have symptoms, and that most of us have probably been exposed at some time. BUT wearing the mask is like wearing a condom-it protects both people.
This makes my blood boil. Due to being medically extremely vulnerable I haven't left the house other than for hospital appointments, treatments and scans since March. I have not been in the same room as my partner for 10 months as he works in hospitals with covid patients. I've had to go through my treatments alone, I've not seen my family and my mental health is suffering.... but despite of all that, I am following the restrictions to the letter. I'd give anything for a hug but that's not possible right now. There are so many selfish, arrogant people out there. They think they are smart yet they are so very stupid. Anyone who refuses the vaccine claiming
Claiming its dangerous should hope they never get cancers... for chemo is actually there to damage cells. I bet they would have no problem with that bit of medical science though!

Considering there is evidence that only those with other health issues before they got the virus are at risk from dying, shouldn't we be evaluating and identifying risk groups vs. those who are least likely to be killed? We could be letting least-risk people go back to work and school with masks, social modifications, and cleaning regimes instead of putting so many people into financial ruin, thinking that unemployment or the dole will keep them from becoming homeless and hungry.
