German Photographer Shoots Real People Doing Everyday Tasks Without Clothes, And Here’s Why (NSFW)
When Sophia Vogel enters into her subjects' homes to include them in her photo series With and Without, she asks them what hobbies they're into. After they say "listening to music" or "playing with my cat," Sophia asks them to perform the task regularly and then repeat it without any clothes. She snaps photos during both of those times and then presents the clothed and nude pictures for a side-by-side comparison.
"I want to point out that sporting nudity should feel just as natural as being clothed," she told Creators. "If you think of it right, we are all naked people underneath our clothes."
True, nudism is less of a taboo than it was a couple of decades ago, but seeing a person in his bare flesh still seems voyeuristic. "The pressure of being a sexual being is omnipresent for every human being," Vogel said. "We are observed and judged every day, and the fashion industry lavishes beauty ideals and criticism on us. We set high standards for ourselves. I want to speak up against these ridiculous standards and highly sexualized imagery."
"By presenting all kinds of different body shapes and natural postures, I would love to show that everybody is beautiful in their own way." Her nude photography doesn't have any sexual connotation, even though nudity is highly sexualized in our modern society. "I love to present nudity aesthetically without any sexual context. Not every single nudist photograph should be linked to sexuality."
Her subjects are not models, but regular people who feel connected to Vogel's project and reached out via Instagram, e-mail, or word-of-mouth. The artist already featured teachers, dentists, attorneys, and other volunteers. Most of them are Millennials: "Right now, I am unfortunately only able to get ahold of the younger generations, but I would love to photograph a wide age range."

Learned from this: most folks look way better with their clothes on.
nudity is not a taboo, yet all the models have covered their intimate parts with other body parts or otherwise using different objects...hm still don't get the meaning of all of it that the photographer tries to uncover - does she want that people would be okay with the fact that someone wants to be naked publicly?
If they weren't, nobody would publish this photos, and few who would, would put some kind of censorship on them. That would ruin the whole project. Most of the people are not ready to deal with full nakedness.

You're not prude. That's the fact. Clothes hide "imperfections", and that's probably the main reason why people wear it even when it's unnecessary. We tell ourselves that it's "rude" to be naked when we are actually giving ourselves excuse to look better than we actually do.

Well the point of the project is kinda off in my opinion... Being naked is as natural as being clothed for humans. Ok hear me out.... Even though we're basically the only animals that wear clothes, our species is the Homo sapiens, which was actually never naked! Clothes basically replaced the fur our ancestors used to have, someone could argue that they're even an extension of ourselves.
Depends on where they lived in the past. In warmer places, it was more common. Clothing in colder places was a necessity. There are also many cultures and tribes over history in which nudity was very common.

Hm...9 ouf of 10 people shot here have tattoos, a good fraction of them is heavily tattooed. Surely, this is not representative. What I asked myself: is this the protographer's selection, is it representative for the area he selected people from, or is it probably that tattooed people are more open-minded for a project like this? Anyway, I found it striking.

I like that the pictures are tasteful in the naked versions. They are well-posed and thus not sore to the eye.
I enjoyed the concept though I would've liked to of seen more of a variety of body shapes, age and diversity.

If you had read the long text, the photographer mentioned that the majority of subjects were millennials, and not by selection. Last I looked, most millennials had tattoos. A zebra without stripes wouldn't be a zebra. I found the photos humbling. Who are we underneath, stripped of our worldly protection? In stripping the subjects, the environment recedes, revealing only the living element. The photographer's attention to detail made this impression possible. Great job!
The natural body is beautiful. Clothes squeeze and shape bodies in unnatural ways. Making what you see a lie. Everyone should embrace their natural beauty that we were born with.
Whenever Im naked i feel unsafe , not just because im naked ... I just feel something may hurt me . . . like dropping hot water , some sharp objects ... Insects , I think clothes helps us a lot , they make us more beautifull
A few look natural naked. But, you can see where people are not as relaxed. Standing and sitting strait compared to relaxed, slouched position.
Mainly 4,8 & 10 you can feel stiffness in the nude photo.

It would be interesting to see a survey of what percent of the population, by age, think the opposite sex looks better with or without tattoos. I see that there are a lot of positive comments about the girls tattoos, but I'm an old man and I think girls look better without the large tattoos. I imagine most guys who prefer large tattoos on girls are younger.

Images without tattoos are more effective and true to the concept, which is original and creative.
Maybe try leaving out the "with clothes on" ... and try catching the most "natural" expression, with your camera. Lot's of beautiful people on beautiful pictures!
What seems to be the obsession women have these days with covering their bodies in ugly tattoos, they won't think they're so great when they're in their seventies with fat flabby skin, they'll look like their bodies are covered in varicose veins, with all the tattoos they might as well have clothes on because they are being covered with ink, their is only one woman here that looks good yes the one without any tattoos standing in the kitchen, the rest should keep their clothes on, permanently!

I think some people will do anything for their 15 minutes of "fame". Taking nude pics is not earth shattering or even an original thought. It's a way for this person to get upvotes on Bored Panda. Some great tatoos, though.

Every single person has tattoos, which I find interesting-esp as some you can see peeking out in the clothed pics, and then YOu see the entire tatoo in the next one.

I understand the message, and I find it somewhat pretty - even though I think not feeling comfortable naked around others is completely fine. The photos though, also show many times how clothes are practical! Sitting on a leather sofa naked? Cooking? Walking my dog? There are a lot of things that we need to protect our bodies from and the other way around too. I don't want uncovered backparts and genitalias on my couch and chairs... imagine the restraurant... bleeeh
