Thanks to the internet it's never been easier for people to rip off something that somebody else created and pass it off as their own. It isn't just individuals who do it either, but major well-known companies like New Look, Forever21, and even Disney. We wrote about one such case before, where artist Tuesday Bassen discovered that Spanish retailer Zara had stolen her designs and were using them without crediting her, and now Bored Panda has compiled an extended list of people who have experienced similar unfair treatment at the hands of people too lazy, or too talentless, to create something for themselves. Scroll down to see for yourself, and let us know how you feel in the comments.

This is outrageous! Zara should be so ashamed!!! They got enough money to hire an entire team of designer FFS, do they really need to steal???

It is never a question of "needing" or not it is alway's a Cost/profit calculations. Same as the right price for a product is one the customer is willing to pay. Not the cost + a small margin. They probably still have an entire design team. But it still saves them designers and time to steal stuff.

The arrogant response by Zara really makes me angry!!! Please contact the lawmakers of your country. We need laws that protect intellectual property. The law is behind the times. Shameful that big companies that can afford to pay would steal even such a small amount from someone. Really unethical. Boycott them and let these thieves' businesses die.

This is justice in the western world. You are right if you can afford it. Else you are wrong. Justice is for the priviliged. The more money you have the more right you are. In an ideal world every party would have acces to the same amount of tools to prove their point.

The funny thing is that everything Tuesday Bassen has here, isn't their original work either. These are pretty common ideas that have been done over and over again, over the years. You can't actually claim that this is your original work when it isn't original in the first place.

A cease and desist letter should not cost that much. Mainly, if you can show how they could have come across your work (the INTERNET, of course)...they cannot, by law use your work. Contact the Artists Guild from your nearest large city.

I went to their Facebook page to tell them exactly what I think about their p**s poor business practices and found that they have a terrible rating. Apparently, they have the work customer service ever. A lot of really pissed off people were leaving comments about being ripped off by them. It was crazy. If you want to check it out, just take a look at the ZARA Facebook page. I have no idea how they even stay in business with such an awful reputation and such terrible business practices. I won't be giving them any of my money or business. I don't do business with buncha lying thieves.

With future designs you could post a copy to yourself in a sealed envelope. Leave it sealed and if another person/ company steals your designs again you can prove you did the design before them as it will be in a sealed envelope where the post mark on the envelope will have an earlier date on it than the date the other person/ company 'designed ' it.

..as i have supported this women before, i got a back lash from a major company simply because i upset them.. i even had many smaller design works taken~This action i have worked out holds some security. 1st, always aim on 3sections to your Art, BUT ALWAYS ON paper book design & place it in a 3 section completion; place the 1st part for a month to show, note who picks up ,& on your Paper written private book add info & times; do this through to the 3rd end part..Note, make a friend within the ‘Legal System’ somewhere~the easiest is the justice of the peace, even with your smile add a small good faith donation for their signature...Do Not Ever Put Anything On Digital~ you must wait your 3 months. If enough of Artists group together to do this,(& pls dont forget dates on your book; arrange for an ink print stamp for dates too, additionally stamp the final date with your authority person..this is the cheapest to hold ur copyrigt),& as said if enough do this then its going to create a scare.

best way to stop them is to get the word out and boycott them. Just stop buying from them, and then they might listen if they lose money. That's the ONLY thing big corps respond to.

That happened to an artist friend of mine as well, Zara had stolen her motive and used it for merch. Though in her case it was stuff she did for a published project, so the publisher was the one to sue Zara and she appeared in the trial as a witness. They are a ruthless bunch of soulless bastards.

That's Briana Garcia, she works for Disney. I've been following her work for years and she's fantastic. She started in Disneyland and has worked her way into their artist showcases and character drawing demonstrations. She is very talented. Her sketches and illustrations are 100% her property and do not belong to disney or the public unless she expressly says so. Regardless of the subject. If i draw Disney's cinderella, that is 100% MY work. Credit to Disney for their character but MY illustration. If i take YOUR illustration of disney's cinderella and claim it as my own then i am stealing YOUR work. If i take your illustration and try to sell it, i'm putting myself at legal risk for stealing both IP's because i did not make the drawing and do not have permission to sell it as my own goods and i do not have permission to profit from the selling of a copyrighted disney character.

This would make an interesting court case. The recreation is not the original artwork, clearly, but the concept is exactly the same, from figures, to clothes, down to the masks (not the coloring) and the body poses. The derivative work is much nicer, but it's a stolen concept.

Go here to report copyright infringements on Facebook. They are pretty quick to take them down, I use it all the time for people stealing my artwork. https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/634636770043106?helpref=faq_content

Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery but copying without attribution to the original artist is insincere flatuence.

Shepard's career highlights include taking a photo, add in photoshop filter and then make millions. Photographer sees nothing from it.

The faces are a copy, but I'm sure I've seen that face before, and not in either of these designs.

Teechip is hosted by Amazon Web Services. Send a DMCA letter to copyright@amazon.com - they take For.Ev.Er to respond, but they eventually take it down. The more people serve letters against Teechip, the better. I've filed many now myself.

Well, it s complicated for tatoo. of course the Kshocks s one is gorgeous. But i can imagine that someone can t travel to get this tatoo and ask an other tatoo artist to make it... very common actually. A lot of tatoos are just copy of some design because the customers want it. What we need is a good tatoo artist who can do everything we ask. but asking them to copy some work can just have a very bas result on you at the end, it s a risk sinc everybody as skills in some styles or not... but i dont see the problem. If my tatoo artist dont see any problem to do a copyright caracter or drawing if i ask it... why should we be upset for that one. Should we jail all the tatoo artist who did a mickey on their customers. Wake up people. The customers ask and you just fulfill his wish. It would be some art work from internet, nobody would have say s**t.

So you're mad that someone liked your artwork so much they got it tattooed? I guess nobody can get any tattoos unless they draw it completely themselves, right?
