People Demand That Trump Gets Removed From ‘Home Alone 2’, They Photoshop Who Could Replace Him Interview
First, President Trump was hit by a Twitter ban on his last days of the presidency “due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” following the Capitol riots that left the world in shock. But it didn’t stop there.
Now, the Home Alone fans—and there are many of them, keeping in mind that 30 years later, it’s been on repeat as a quintessential Christmas staple surpassing its very own significance—are demanding for the ‘disgraced’ Trump to be digitally removed from the film altogether.
People are not only referring to him as “a Home Alone extra,” they are deliberately calling for his cameo in the 1992 sequel Home Alone: Lost in New York to be digitally deleted and replaced by someone nicer. Anything, really.
Everyone is now excited to throw in some suggestions for Trump’s replacement, so you can see that the case is being handled with proper care and attention. Let’s take a look at some of the funniest and most ‘it totally works!’ examples below, and be sure to share your own suggestions in the comment section.
After Twitter permanently suspended Trump’s account, someone shared the idea that removing him from Home Alone 2 would be a second logical step

Bored Panda reached out to Matt Navarra, the social media industry commentator and consultant who first tweeted “I won’t rest until he is removed from that scene in Home Alone 2” on January 9th. The idea soon blew up on social media with people having fun with the meme of removing the Trump scene from Home Alone 2 all over Twitter.
Matt said that, like most people, he was shocked and alarmed by the lawlessness of so many people on such a culturally and politically significant building. “It was even more shocking (yet sadly not surprising) how President Trump’s response and message to the rioters was so weak and almost forgiving of their actions. The riots felt like the results of a slow-burning fire, which Trump had been stoking for all of his presidency through his policies, rhetoric, and antagonistic persona.” We all saw the dramatic consequences when that fire erupted in Washington, DC on Wednesday, January 6th.
But when it comes to Matt’s tweet, he said that in all honesty, it was just a joke. “It was sarcasm, which the Brits love, but can be (and clearly was) lost on some people. There are far bigger and genuinely important issues and concerns about Trump which need addressing or investigating.”
Then, due to popular demand, someone indeed digitally removed Trump and shared the result in this video

On the other hand, it did resonate with so many people, and Matt believes it’s because of a couple of reasons. “a) timing—I posted the tweet moments after his ban from Twitter was announced, and b) It’s a classic bit of pop-culture nostalgia. Home Alone is such a beloved movie around the world, especially during the holiday season.”
Matt added that “Lots of people think others don’t know about Trump’s cameo when really, most people already do. The tweet referenced a movie moment that a LOT of people remember, and my silly sarcastic joke was a satisfying, relatable soundbite that captured the mood of the Twitter room.”
When asked what and if there’s some significance to the meme of removing Trump from Home Alone 2, Matt said that he doesn’t think so. “I’m aware the scene has been altered or removed in a version of the film for Canadian audiences. For a long time, Trump’s tiny moment in the movie was a geeky Easter egg some people liked to point out when he pops up.”
On the other hand, he said that next time, when watching the movie in the future, most people are likely to “be reminded of his awful legacy and crack a joke about him.” “Much like they do every day on Twitter already,” Matt added.
