I'm, like, totally smarter than you are. [Adjusts glasses; laughs in geek]. My genius IQ is over 9,000, and I play 5D chess in my spare time. Mozart? Bach? Those are for amateurs. Me? I only listen to the music that planets make in our neighboring Andromeda Galaxy (it's 2.537 light-years away from Earth - bet you didn't know that). My favorite book is the Necronomicon. By the time I have breakfast every day, I've already come up with a hundred new fantastic ideas about how to improve the world, and my brain works at a 69.999% (recurring, of course) higher capacity than yours. I would've totally made a better protagonist than Yagami Light in Death Note. You wouldn't ever be able to comprehend my complex thoughts because, like, you're so beneath me, and I'm, like, super awesome. [Adjusts glasses again; uses inhaler]. Plebs.

Don't you just hate it when smart people start bragging about what high IQ they have when they're actually the complete opposite? There are those who think it's OK to be a show-off and an arrogant equus africanus asinus just because they know a bit of obscure trivia or have a niche hobby.

Bored Panda brings you this amazing compilation of the best memes about people with undeserved bragging rights and their sky-high IQ while coming off in the worst way possible. So put your smartass caps on, start scrolling and let us know which of these funny memes you loved best, and why. Upvote and share the smartest (pun not intended) ones!

I am 33 and still use my fingers to count. Some people have dyslexia and other learning difficulties. Numbers get all muddled in my head so I have to use a calculator or my fingers sometimes for the most simple equations.

Even people without dyslexia can arrive at the wrong result, as this post shows. All it takes is to forget a step, or misremember a number or whatever, which is easy to do if you're stressed or tired. A calculator is faster than using a piece of paper and reduces the chance of a mistake.

I aced maths in school. Came away with an 'A' at GCSE (the exams we took aged 16). Then I didn't use maths again for about a decade. Today I genuinely struggle to add up two dice when playing board games.

At point of sale, using a calculator helps to avoid a lot of time-wasting arguments, as the above amply demonstrates. It’s one of those smart things that looks dumb until you think about it.

If you want me to do math its either going to be calculator or pen and paper. I cant do carry over in my head. I just forget the number I need to carry. It's like my brain simply does not have a ROM installed.

Anyone remember how, back in the day, cashiers had to count your change back as they gave it to you? It wasn’t until well into the 1980s that the register automatically calculated and displayed that amount. Sorry, that memory just popped into my head when I read this one...and now I feel old.

I worked in franchise training and wrote a one-page instructional on HOW TO MAKE CHANGE and count it back to the customer as you place it in their hand. I can't count the number of times my return change has been piled in my hand, I count it and it's wrong. Once the cashier gave me my change AND the $20 i just handed her. I held out my hands and asked: "Do you really want to give me back this much money?"

I was training a cashier on a register. This employee was doing pretty well, so I was doing other stuff behind the counter, but staying close by. Suddenly, he says, "Oh, no! I accidently pressed the "Exact Change" button! But the customer gave me a $10!” No big deal, this is a learning experience. I tell him to get the calculator we keep behind the counter for this exact reason. Then I tell him to put in the amount the customer gave him: $10. Then I said, "Ok. Now, how much was the actual total of the purchase?" He responds, "$9.99” I blurted out, "Omg! Really?!?!" At this point, the customer rolls his eyes, laughs and says, "Just keep the penny, but I need my receipt". I apologized and gave him a free cup of coffee for being so patient. I also apologized to the employee for being rude. It just kind of caught me off guard.

I had a teacher is school who criticized me when I still used my fingers to do addition and subtraction (3rd grade, I think it was. I had the same teacher for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade) so I just learned to hide it better! I still use my fingers sometimes, and don’t hide it now when I’m teaching. Kids now are taught to use whatever strategies work for them, so that’s an improvement!

You don't need a calculator to make change. You just count it back. Bill is $1.85 they hand you a 5. Its 10 cents to 95 a nickel to $2.00 then 3,4,5. Easy. Customers appreciate you counting it back because then they know the got the right change.

Making change has been lost. adding to 7.15 till you get to 10 is they way we were taught. How we were taught to make change. But you have to know your dimes, nickles and quarters. 7.15 + .10 = 7.25 + 3 quarters (.75) = 8.00 + 2.00 + 10.00. No subtraction needed.

It's cause our culture is VERY LAZY! Ever since smart phones came in play years ago, the brains in the younger generation are nothing but pure laziness! When I was a kid, I had to use paper and pencil to figure out stuff. Now, the phone does that for you, and the parents are sad that their kids aren't smart or motivated??

As a general rule of thumb, people tend to vastly overestimate their abilities and believe themselves to be exceptions to rules and tendencies. Right now you’re probably thinking how you’re way smarter than I am, and I’m thinking the exact same thing. We believe we’re special and have far more intricate inner-lives than others. That’s quite normal because we experience life only from our own perspectives, and we’re privy only to our own thoughts. Nonetheless, a shocking 65% of all Americans believe themselves to be of higher-than-average intelligence, according to this study. Wow! That’s a big number!

It’s easy to make fun of wannabe geniuses who shoot themselves in the foot with their comments, but real intelligence shouldn’t be made fun of. According to various studies, having a high IQ makes it more likely that you will be successful and rich and will live longer. Now, this doesn’t mean intelligence is the only factor that matters (and far from every scientist agrees with the conclusion about future success), but the importance of IQ shouldn’t be waved away, as though it means nothing.

Alfred Binet and Theodore Simon developed the first IQ (intelligence quotient) test in 1904, after the French government demanded they find a way to differentiate between lazy children and those with mental handicaps. The so-called Simon-Binet test, which was a combination of logical reasoning, finding rhyming words and naming objects, quickly became popular in the West.

The test was then modified in 1916, and called the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale. This became the standard IQ test used in the United States. Naturally, the test was revised and tweaked countless times, but it still remains popular to this day.

The IQ test didn’t make everyone happy, though. Psychologist David Wechsler thought the Stanford-Binet test was too limited, so in 1955 he created his own intelligence test: the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale or WAIS. In modern times we currently have the fourth incarnation of the test, known as WAIS-IV. Wechsler also made tests specifically for children and preschoolers.
