I'm, like, totally smarter than you are. [Adjusts glasses; laughs in geek]. My genius IQ is over 9,000, and I play 5D chess in my spare time. Mozart? Bach? Those are for amateurs. Me? I only listen to the music that planets make in our neighboring Andromeda Galaxy (it's 2.537 light-years away from Earth - bet you didn't know that). My favorite book is the Necronomicon. By the time I have breakfast every day, I've already come up with a hundred new fantastic ideas about how to improve the world, and my brain works at a 69.999% (recurring, of course) higher capacity than yours. I would've totally made a better protagonist than Yagami Light in Death Note. You wouldn't ever be able to comprehend my complex thoughts because, like, you're so beneath me, and I'm, like, super awesome. [Adjusts glasses again; uses inhaler]. Plebs.

Don't you just hate it when smart people start bragging about what high IQ they have when they're actually the complete opposite? There are those who think it's OK to be a show-off and an arrogant equus africanus asinus just because they know a bit of obscure trivia or have a niche hobby.

Bored Panda brings you this amazing compilation of the best memes about people with undeserved bragging rights and their sky-high IQ while coming off in the worst way possible. So put your smartass caps on, start scrolling and let us know which of these funny memes you loved best, and why. Upvote and share the smartest (pun not intended) ones!

I am 33 and still use my fingers to count. Some people have dyslexia and other learning difficulties. Numbers get all muddled in my head so I have to use a calculator or my fingers sometimes for the most simple equations.

As a general rule of thumb, people tend to vastly overestimate their abilities and believe themselves to be exceptions to rules and tendencies. Right now you’re probably thinking how you’re way smarter than I am, and I’m thinking the exact same thing. We believe we’re special and have far more intricate inner-lives than others. That’s quite normal because we experience life only from our own perspectives, and we’re privy only to our own thoughts. Nonetheless, a shocking 65% of all Americans believe themselves to be of higher-than-average intelligence, according to this study. Wow! That’s a big number!

It’s easy to make fun of wannabe geniuses who shoot themselves in the foot with their comments, but real intelligence shouldn’t be made fun of. According to various studies, having a high IQ makes it more likely that you will be successful and rich and will live longer. Now, this doesn’t mean intelligence is the only factor that matters (and far from every scientist agrees with the conclusion about future success), but the importance of IQ shouldn’t be waved away, as though it means nothing.

Alfred Binet and Theodore Simon developed the first IQ (intelligence quotient) test in 1904, after the French government demanded they find a way to differentiate between lazy children and those with mental handicaps. The so-called Simon-Binet test, which was a combination of logical reasoning, finding rhyming words and naming objects, quickly became popular in the West.

The test was then modified in 1916, and called the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale. This became the standard IQ test used in the United States. Naturally, the test was revised and tweaked countless times, but it still remains popular to this day.

The IQ test didn’t make everyone happy, though. Psychologist David Wechsler thought the Stanford-Binet test was too limited, so in 1955 he created his own intelligence test: the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale or WAIS. In modern times we currently have the fourth incarnation of the test, known as WAIS-IV. Wechsler also made tests specifically for children and preschoolers.

I've had my IQ tested, too, and got 142. All that means is that I test well; it has no reflection on success in everyday life. I have friends who have scored much lower, but are a lot smarter than me in real-world situations.

Which is why assigning numerical values to a person's intelligence is worthless. I took the official MENSA test when I was younger, and my results said my IQ was 180. Nobody cares, and it's not going to get me further in life. I took the test because I liked the challenge, and only submitted it because my grandmother offered to pay for it on my behalf, and she told me I'd just as well find out how good, or bad, I had performed. And nobody turns down a gift from their grandmother.

I knew someone with an IQ of 180. When the test was done my IQ was 175. He said he never wanted to join the IQ club because it's just a bunch of shallow people with a ridiculous opinion of themselves. He also quite rightly pointed out that it's a measure of POTENTIAL, not actuality. I'll also add that it only measures a certain type of intelligence. Being clever hasn't helped me at all, in fact it's a curse. A much better measure of intelligence, as a meaningful measure of worth in society, is how well one gets on in that society. I'm hopeless. But someone can be really stupid, and become president of the United States. Another measure of intelligence is what I think of as emotional intelligence, the ability to empathise and relate and get on with people. That's a much better skill to have. And I'm hopeless at that. IQ scores are only the vaguest indicator of someone's actual ability to work or perform. A good memory is more important than being a little cleverer than everyone else.

My dad was a total douche. If I, or my three brothers, got a near-perfect score on a test, our Dad would say, "You could have done better." He made us all take an IQ test and we all did pretty well, except the youngest brother. He would not tell anyone his score. We all assumed he had done VERY badly. The other siblings reminded him that the score means nothing in real life. Our Dad told him he already figured we were all below average. Years later, after our Dad's funeral, we all went out for a drink (lol). We were sharing stories about our childhood and trying to remember the few good aspects of our father. During a lull in conversation, the youngest brother just casually says, "I made a 176 on the IQ test, but I didn't want Dad to know because he was such a douche." Omg!

Yeah, you would say that, because you only got like a 30 or so, but anyone else who got high scores like the REST of us smart people would feel the need to brag. ..... i'm just being sarcastic, but that might not be obvious. It is really a b******t number, and not something to be taken seriously. There's so much more to people than just an IQ score from a random test. I guess a lot of these people don't have anything else to post about other than that.

Funny, but an IQ test was not created to measure a persons intelligence, only the momentary level (and it's current use is completely contrary to the creators intended purpose). Also, it is not intended measure book smarts or street smarts, rather your ability to learn. So an infant in theory could score higher if they could take the test, simply because the neural pathways have not yet formed/solidified (i know, improper terms but I am not medical so I don't know how else to say it without research)

you know, people think that IQ tests measure general intelligence. They just measure problem solving skills correlated to logical thinking. But there's more to intelligence than logic, and more to life than intelligence. If someone has a high IQ it don't automatically mean they'll be successful in life. Other skills are required, such as communication, social interaction, business skills.
