Our Dorm Building Only Has One Facilities Person To Clean, She Works So Hard Yet The People On My Floor Are Still Disgusting. I Can't Blame Her For Leaving This Note
According to the website PsychMechanics, there are some basics about the psychology of selfishness that we all should know:
A selfish person is the one who puts his own needs first. He's primarily concerned with himself and seeks out only those activities that fulfill his own desires and wants. Anything wrong with that? I don’t think so.
Going by that definition, we're all selfish in one way or the other. All of us want to do things that are ultimately for our own good and well-being. This type of selfishness is good and desirable.
So far so good. The problem arises when we do things for ourselves and at the same time ignore the needs of those around us or when we fulfill our needs at the expense of others. When you make life difficult for others to meet your own ends, then that kind of selfishness is the selfishness that you’d like to avoid.
Even Though I Don’t Work Here, The Parents With Their Children In The Photo Made A Mess In The Toy Aisle At A Store. I Feel Sorry For Whoever Would Have To Clean That Up
This Lady Kneeling On Bread While She Looks At Other Bread
Sorry, but why didn't you say anything instead of making photos? Don't let people like this get away with sh** like this. The reason they are acting in this way is because they don't care, as no one probably ever told them to stop. Again, this is disrespectful and shouldn't be ignored!
There are several reasons that could make someone selfish...
A person who holds on to his resources and doesn't give it to the needy can be considered a selfish person and this is the type of selfishness that we commonly refer to when we say that someone is selfish.
When we say that someone is selfish, we usually mean that he doesn't share his resources (money, time, etc.). Now, why won’t a person share his resources, even if it's the best thing to do in a given situation?
The biggest reason is that he thinks he doesn't have enough. A selfish person, therefore, is also likely to be stingy. This insecurity of not having enough motivates a person to hold on to his resources and not share them.
If You Or Your Kids Think That It's A Good Idea To Leave The Cinema Like This, Damn You
He/She Saw Nothing Wrong With Parking There
People who do this deserve to get their car damaged by the air ambulance crew and their streacher. It's probably the only way they'll learn.
Another reason is a fear of losing control. If someone has many needs and goals, then he overvalues his resources because he thinks that these resources are going to help him reach his goals. If he loses his resources, he loses his goals and if he loses his goals he feels he has lost control over his life.
For example, a student who doesn't share his study notes with others is the one who has high academic goals and sharing notes could mean losing an important resource that could help him reach his goal. And not being able to reach your goals is a perfect recipe for a feeling of loss of control over your life.
In other cases, the way a person was raised can also make him act in selfish ways. The only child or the child whose every demand was met by his parents (spoilt child) learns to take as much as he can and give very little back.
Such children learn to care only for their needs with little empathy or consideration for others. As children, we were all like that to some extent but gradually we began to learn that other people have emotions too and so developed empathy.
Some people never learn empathy and therefore remain selfish, just like when they were kids.
Urgh...
Was Told To Post This Here. Woman Stomped All Over The Plants In This Conservatory For Instagram Shots Despite Staff Repeatedly Asking Her To Stop
The most important thing to do when dealing with a selfish reason is to figure out the reason for his selfishness and then work on eliminating that reason.
All other methods and efforts of dealing with him are going to be in vain. Ask yourselves questions like...Why is he being selfish? What is he feeling so insecure about? Are you making unrealistic demands of him? Is he really in a position to meet your demands?
We are often too quick to label someone ‘selfish’ instead of admitting that we failed to persuade them or that our demands are unreasonable.
But what if they are really being selfish and you're not just falsely labeling them?
Well then, help them get rid of their insecurity. Show them that they're not going to lose anything by giving you what you want. Or better yet, show them how they may benefit by helping you if there's a possibility of a win-win situation.
Letting Your Kid Watch A Movie On Full Volume In A Restaurant
Unless the kid has a disability that prevents it, raise him so he can manage to sit through a meal without a screen to entertain him. Even if he needs something to stare at, get him headphones if he needs sound.
Even if he is autistic or has some other disability, he can probably still use headphones or find some other distraction that doesn't ruin everyone else's meal. I feel for people who have a child with special needs, and understand they want to go out to dinner too. But if your child cannot be in a restaurant for an hour without ruining everyone else's meal, then maybe it's time for plan b.
Load More Replies...When I have to go to the restaurant with my kids, they prepare a bag with coloring stuff, books and a couple of Playmobils. Yet, usually, they are just so eager to be in a restaurant, that we're just chating all together
I have the exact same things in my handbag: Playmobil and little dinosaurs, and crayons! It does the job and I can keep to volume to a minimum. Those are "restaurant only" toys, to keep the novelty.
Load More Replies...If your kid can't sit at a table and have a meal in a restaurant without watching a movie then don't bring them out in public. The rest of the world should not have to put up with this because you don't know how to parent. People need to start saying something to people like this. I was at a restaurant once and this kid kept running around the tables. The restaurant staff didn't do anything about them so I did. I walked him to his parents and said "If this is yours, keep him under control. I am out to have a nice dinner with my husband and contrary to what you may think not everyone enjoys your kid." Other patrons in the restaurant clapped and cheered, needless to say that family got to-go boxes and left.
On a side note, that restaurant looks awesome. I like to decor a lot
Someone disrupts your meal, simply ask to see the manager. Ive had these sorts of things happen to me in restaurants, the manager simply asks them to correct the situation or leave.
Why????? why is a child allowed to watch a movie in a restaurant in the first place. Has he not been taught that you go there to eat and to behave ? Not only do not watch movies but you sit up and sit quietly at a restaurant not loll all over the place. No manners and parents who obviously do not care to teach him any!
A pair of headphones and would have already shown enough comprehension towards other customers.
Call the owner and ask him to remove or silence this family or lose you as a paying customer. Forever.
Seriously, had I been there, I would have stood up, gone to them, smiled, closed the laptop, said "thanks", and sat back. (and, yes, I'd probably would have been yelled at, but, at this point, who cares ?)
I've commented to parents about the loud noise and one argued with me that it wasn't loud and that i could move. "No I can't! You're in the middle of the room so everyone could hear it. Plus I shouldn't have to move due to your rudeness!" Then I was fortunately called into the drs office. Yes. I love perfect timing.
Load More Replies...I was in a restaurant where a pair of kids were loudly playing video games by themselves. I'd understand it if I was at McDonald's where there's a play area, but if the place has real napkins? I got up and left the restaurant.
This is why restaurants should have a no-children section. They used to have a no-smoking section because people were annoyed by smoke. I am annoyed by bratty kids. (And don't start with the "second-hand smoke kills" speech, not for the length of time you spend in a restaurant.)
Ahhh in Australia we have smoke free restaurants - it's awesome! Now if only we could get some kid free ones (-:
Load More Replies...If it disturbed other patrons then complaints should be made to the proprietor... Services are being paid for by the cost of the bill+that includes 'Quiet Enjoyment'of said premises
This is my number one pet peeve- the worst part is adults do it too and children tend to mimic their parent’s bad behaviour.
I used to give people discounts at my restaurant when they interacted and had well behaved kids
I am a decent aim with mashed potatoes and that computer screen would definitely get it.
Just used a baked potato instead! Throw it hard enough, break the ipad
Load More Replies...That’s appalling. Lazy-ass parents who prefer to stick an iPad in the kid’s face instead of conversing with him. So sad, really.
Literally exactly what I'm thinking, parents need to properly control their children and teach them life skills
Load More Replies...What struggle? The fact that they can't control their goddamn kids without shoving a screen it their face. When I was a kid I had actual toys and a dsi that I only used when it was respectful. If u can't control your kid, don't stick a screen in their face, control them. Teach them to respect you, to share, to control themselves, and to socialize instead of playing games/movies on an iPad all the time
Load More Replies...I feel really sorry for this child, because his parents are not interested in engaging with him, and are not teaching him social skills he needs to be a successful member of society. This looks like a fancy restaurant. If he is too young to behave himself and enjoy a meal here, everyone, including other diners, would be much happier if he stayed home with the babysitter!
Yeah, and if the parents can't control him they need to show him who the adult is. Some parents use the excuse that they cant control their kids, like wtf do u even have kids then
Load More Replies...This is the absolute height of laziness, when parents have their kids watching movies at a restaurant...
My shitty neighbours thought their kid that it's okay to scream as loud as possible while playing at their garden AT NIGHT. Boy, we live in a small hood, houses are really close together and this kid just goes around being the loudest as possible up to 11 pm. Also, they think it's perfectly fine to throw parties every week with shitty loudy music up to the early morning >.<
WEAR EARBUDS! LIKE COME ON YOU CAN GET A PAIR FOR 10 BUCKS!
What makes it even worse is the fact that it was the movie “Planes”...
If he is quiet, rather than screaming or running around, i’m Ok with this.
It depends on the situation, instead of hearing a child in full tantrums or crying I'll rather endure the loud children show.
How about not letting your kid watch a movie while in a restaurant at all????
On the bright side, he would presumably not be screaming, whining or running around annoying the other diners
Yeah, but when he grows up he will have no sharing, control, or social skills. Parents need to control their kids properly instead of sticking a screen in their face.
Load More Replies...It avoids having to take real care of them, keeps them from having a temper tantrum. This is why we have so many entitled people, they can do what they want without consequences
I don't blame the kid, its the lazy as s parents
Load More Replies...Oh NO! This is where I would have to open what has been called my BIG mouth!!!
I'd speak to the manager and ask him which patron he wants to keep - the monster or yourself?
This is really disrespectful. Imagine trying to eat with "Planes" running full volume in the background.
Ikr, I could settle for cars, but definitely not planes
Load More Replies...In the end The problem is the restaurant that tolerated this behavior. Yes, the parents /grandparents/babysitters should have known better,(and parents of special needs kids are usually some of the most well prepared and skilled parents out there so I'd doubt this was the case here) but the atmosphere of the dining area is the responsibility of the restaurant. A simple complaint to the manager should end this behavior in a snap. If not, then I'd walk out (and left a brutal comment on their Yelp)
With a smile and in a friendly voice say loudly enough for the entire restaurant to hear: "WOULD YOU PLEASE TURN THAT DOWN?" Cloth runners and napkins, heavy cutlery and stemware: looks like a nice place. That's how I ask people to stop talking in movies, and it works.
Or when they play their games with the volume on high in an airplane! THAT’S WHAT HEADPHONES ARE FOR!!
Yeah, if i owned this place I would have ejected the whole family no matter how mad they were. Whatever they would have paid me isn’t enough to cover the customers who would have left.
and letting kids play computer games on trains at full volume...in the supposedly "quiet" compartments.
My husband has confronted lazy parents like these numerous times, as well as rude single people or anyone talking on their phones on SPEAKER. People have no concept of proper manners anymore and no one seems to give a shit about anyone else around them. If you see this kind of crap, say something! The less we do, the more this type of behavior will continue until being out in public is no longer enjoyable. Parents can't even teach their kids how to act in a restaurant anymore? I have 5 kids...And none are allowed to do this is public. We teach them proper behavior. If they can't do it, they go outside with one of us until they realize they're missing out on the experience and change their attitude. It's ok to actually engage with your family at meal time people!!
Hope this person said something to the parents. Why do people think it OK to let a kid watch a movie in public places without headphones? Airplanes being main place it is not OK.
I would have complained to the manager and had them turn it off. If the manager refused to do anything..it would be his/her picture going up on the companies social media page with a caption explaining their lack of action.
This happened to me at a classy restaurant where there was an actual piano player. Ruined my dinner.
this is what I come across numerous times in the waiting room and on the train & bus, growl.
I work front of house, have done for many years. This is an everyday occurance, not only kids but adults watching youtube or facebook videos full pelt.. one woman chops and feeds the kid his food while he watches....
Just tell the restaurant staff to ask them to behave themselves or you walk and tell everyone you know there was a toenail in the food
Silverware and fine glasses in there , so I'd ask the manager to tell them to put headphones on the brat or they can just get out. One other option is to put it away.
At least get headphones. I'd kick them out of I were the manager or owner.

as a waitress, I've truly enjoyed telling these parents to pick up their (literally) shitty child & go to the bathrooms. "But madam, I must do this, due to the Health Hazard caused by you / your friend. And no, we can't move you to another table, as they're reserved. May I get you some dessert?" :D :D :D

When I was heavily pregnant, I had tot ride a really busy bus. Just one seat was free so I went to sit there. The whole bus was full of students. One stop later a old lady with a walking cane came in. No one stood up for her. So I did. That made me so angry. A whole bus full of healthy young people and the only one who is getting up and have to stand is a 7 month pregnant women.

Last week I stood with my little son in a long, long line to buy an ice cream. I myself am obviously very pregnant and we stood there already for 15 minutes in the heat when a woman did just that. I walked around her with my son while my huge baby bump touched her and explained to my little boy loud and clear that you did not behave that way in lines, like this young woman did.

I had to stop looking at those pictures, as I felt my heart rate increasing. What a bunch of ignorant, filthy, disrespectful and badly behaving people. We as a society should blame them way more often. Don't let them get away with this. If you see anything like this, call them out. Don't just ignore it. In most cases people with low wages have to clean after them and if that is not enough, some people treat them like slaves or are ignorant enough, to not even think about it. This is just not okay. Period. If you are someone who acts like this – Shame on you!
What is terrifying is this is becoming normal behaviour. So very sad.
And so many people shying away from any kind of confrontation with those asswipes. That's only empowering them.
Holy heck, AMEN MATE. I don't think I've seen anything as extreme as the idiots in this list, but I have to say, as someone currently working in retail, it pains me that I'm not allowed to shame some of the people who come into my store and take advantage of my forced silence. It's so unfair. I legally am not even allowed to call someone out on stealing. I'm forced to watch them leave the store, and THEN tell my manager. Like seriously? I WANT TO CALL THEM OUT!
Thank you! Well said.. Wish I hadn't looked at all these pics as well, it's so stupid and unnecessary what humans can do -_-
I said the same thing. People are just disgusting
I agree, Marc, but in America, there are concealed carry laws and you never know what kind of person you're going to come across..... The kind of person to do this kinda shit overlaps with the kind of person that would carry a concealed weapon way more frequently than is comfortable.
At my husband's multi million international company (well, he only works there) he tells me the bathrooms are a complete disaster. Feces is smeared all over the walls, even used to write things with. Most troubling thing is, the employees there are all learned people, they are all educated in a high skill. The company is a healthy and happy company, takes care of its people, has 3 company outings/events a year, bagels every Friday morning, catered lunches, group morale outings.....they go all out for them. It doesn't make sense. Seems like you simply get assholes, absolute asholes. And there is no explanation for their behaviour at all. My husband says they have gone through three janitors in the year that he has been there. I don't blame those men.
come to singapore where this is considered normal
.
Here here, Marc!!!!!!!!
This topic reminds me of a joke that Jimmy Carr did: "A man threw his trash on the ground saying "They have people for that" so I beat the hell out of him and said "They have hospitals for that." "
Completely agree... even during childhood if i had done something like that in public she would have made me clean everything after smacking me...
My dad would totally smack the side of my head for shit like this, people have no manners or respect
👍🏼😂
So many inconsiderate, selfish bloody wankers. Seriously, they should be ashamed of themselves. Absolutely deplorable.
Shame is not in their vocabulary, as well as basic consideration of others !!!
So what percentage of the population are sociopaths? So many of these are simply annoying, but others verge on pure evil. When did rules of behavior apply to everyone but us?
I really should NOT of viewed this article, I'm getting those "want to kill" urges again.
As long as you only kill the people from these articles, society will forgive you.
It's sad to say that I frequently have to witness this kind of behavior. My faith in humanity has been lost for a long time.
I have absolutely no problem calling these assnuggets out for their rude behavior. It's quite funny really because most of them are sitting down when I do and they stand up trying to be all bad ass to me. I am a woman (duh right? ) but I am also 5'11 and I work out. Most of the time they are shorter than me and they realize that they don't stand a chance. I am a lover not a fighter but they don't need to know that haha. Anyways, I just don't tolerate this sort of behavior!!
1. People who litter everywhere (especially smokers, I see dozens of them a day thrwoing cigarette butts just anywhere). 2. People who take 2 or more seats in crowded buses or benches 3. people who take a whole sidewalk walking very slowly or just standing there talking or whatever. Move! 4. idiots who park just anywhere not only bloking road and cars but also endagering people by blocking view and to avoid police and ticket they switch on those "blinker" lighrs like car is broken. It's not. There are dozens and dozens idiots like that parked blocking whole right lane. 5. People who sneeze and cough around instead of using the tissue, especially in closed areas like buses. I don't want your germs! 6. smokers who blow smoke at everyone. I am alergic. 7. people who cut in line. Wait like everyone else. 8. People who take children in crowded, too warm or too cold or generally unpleasant places (unless they really have to) without any reason but to get over everyone in line or get a seat.
I used to be a smoker (10+ years ago), but I have since become extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke. It burns my throat/nostrils, causes me to sneeze, etc. Anyway, a lot of smokers think that people just make up being allergic to it. Even when I smoked, I would NEVER smoke & walk down a sidewalk. I think that is so disgusting to essentially blow your smoke in everyone's face behind you. Yuck yuck yuck!!
My husband used to throw his butts all over the place and I called him out. He now carries a pouch around and sends the butts in for recycling. You can get pouches from American Spirit for free and Terracycle will pay for shipping up to 10lbs! They melt the filters down and make hard plastic materials like public benches.
I would add: 9. Dog owners who take their dogs to public areas and let them pee in the thresholds and don't pick up the poo. Then people say: "dogs are dirty". Wrong. Dogs are not dirty, they are just animals. Humans are dirty, inconsiderate and stupid.
I'm a smoker and it's one of my BIGGEST peeves when people just throw thier butts all over. When I go camping/fishing I cant even count how many I pick up in the woods or on the shore lines. It's not that hard to find a trash, tuck the butt away till you find one, or just not smoke if theres no where to throw the butts away.
I really think everyone should be required to work some kind of service job where they have to work with customers for at least a year. It would cut down on a lot of this crap.
It's a good idea. I would personally hate it but I have a lot of time for people who work in jobs like waiting tables or dealing with customers in shops. They are tough jobs and usually underpaid as well.
There's no money in the world to pay for the amount of patience and tolerance required to work in retail, hospitality, etc. I really admire people who deal with people on daily basis and keep a smile at the end of the day.
Oh my god, I can guarantee a large portion would see this as some sort of punishment. I completely agree though!
I'm 50 years old. In my lifetime I've watched morals slipping more and more. Trying to raise my kids with manners seems so pointless. I've finally had enough of morons - I was lucky enough to find a cheap old house in rural France far away from anyone and I can't WAIT to move! Goodbye, cruel world...
Take me with you? Please & thank you. Hahaha Honestly, that sounds like heaven.
You know who else needs to be on this list? People who change their babies in the parking lot...then leave diapers on the ground.
Or the swimming pool locker room, on the bench just outside the shower room.
I was at a Fred Meyer once when a woman was pushing a cart with her 3 year old around as the child screamed at the top of her lungs. This went on for at least 10 minutes. The child wasn't in distress..she was screaming for the fun of it. But I could hear seniors hearing aids whistling from the sharpness of the scream. I approached the woman and asked her if she get the girl to calm down because of how it was effecting other people shopping. She said "Oh she's not screaming..she's singing." Excuse me? She was approached by other shoppers and still refused to quiet the child down. I approached the manager who in turn..told her to take the child outside until she calmed down. The woman stomps off saying "HOW RUDE!! SHE'S JUST SINGING!!" Again..excuse me?
Talking about trash, these people deserved the fucking title.
I'm sorry for my profanity in some of the posts above but people like this are disgusting and disgraceful in so many ways. The bread kneeling woman would have had me in her face and she would have paid for those loaves of bread. I hate people like that. Makes my blood pressure go up and my mind go to very dark places about what I would do about MANY of those situations! Un FUCKING believable what folks think is OK to do!
No discipline, no set by example from parent(s) in a child's formative years.
I’ve officially lost my faith in humanity
Just like that time two women were in Winners with their little dog that crapped in the middle of aisle and when we confronted them about it - told them they shouldn't have a dog in the store in the first place - they grabbed a pack of wet wipes off the shelf and quickly left without paying for them
Makes me think of each existing swear word on earth
Yep, seen this behaviour many times when I was a school teacher. Student response was that if I cleaned up after myself then the school cleaners would not have a job. Sometimes parent/carers would back their child so that meant total refusal. So what you see in these pictures are people older and younger who are displaying a sense of entitlement to do whatever they want and if confronted will most likely threaten you.
I've never understood behavior like this. I've always seen it as self serving and disgusting.
This made me so angry!~ I wish I hadn't looked at this. I can't believe how disrespectful and disgusting people are :(
If I were religious: I would pray that all these people go to a very special place in HELL, FOR ALL ETERNITY!
The scary part is that these people either already vote, or they are going to someday.
Yeah i'm angry now, i hate people.
Shopping carts and those who leave them loose in parking lots -- particular those who leave them in disabled spots -- are my personal rant. I have a disease that is destroying the soft tissue in my joints and live in a constant state of pain. Yet, I can somehow manage to return my cart to the bin even in bad weather. Meanwhile, I watch obviously fully abled people leave their carts so they easily roll into other cars, block slots and/or block disabled slots. It's the height of both laziness and inconsideration.
This was just in case if someone is sceptical about the need for strict rules in the society. In the same time we have countries such as Singapore or Japan where the ratio of antisocial idiots to normal people is in favour of normal. Of course, definition of normal can be always stretched for the convenience of idiots.
