50 People Who’ve Hit New Levels Of Cringe And Got Posted In The ‘Cringetopia’ Online Group (New Pics)
InterviewTrust me, cringe is addictive. Once you cringe over [insert a wish-wash subject of debate] or the anti-vaxxers and get that sweet aftertaste from the sheer absurdity, you want a second hit. ‘Cause cringe is real and everyone loves it, from me, you, to 1.2 million members of the “Cringetopia” subreddit.
And there’s an infinite source of things to recoil from in laughter and embarrassment because the world, like the people in it, and like the subreddit itself, is colorful. As the community’s description says: “In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god's blessing. But because I am enlightened by my intelligence.” You may even get a philosophical drift on your way to the cringe journey.
So get ready to swim in the ocean of biased opinions, naive beliefs, less than logical statements, and anything in between. Be sure to upvote the cringiest posts down below and check out part 1 of this post.

Gatekeeping... A Language?
To find out more about this insanely popular community, Bored Panda reached out to the “Cringetopia” subreddit's moderator Fjallmadur, who was happy to share some insights.
“We started this subreddit to break away from the politics and hate that CringeAnarchy was becoming saturated with. /u/IAmMrPositive founded this subreddit and brought along me and a few other CringeAnarchy moderators who were tired of the mess that place had become,” the moderator recalled.
Fjallmadur added: “He basically made it a full-time job promoting this place in relevant subreddits and building this community from the ground up while telling people that this subreddit was going to be a place for everyone to come together, put politics aside, and just cringe at the people doing really weird and awkward stuff that they post online.” Today, it has turned into the one of the most regularly active subreddits on the entire site.

Do people not realise that “skin” is literally the wrapping paper of your body. It’s nothing more than that. The pigmentation was decided by evolution as it it light or dark depending on what side of the world your ancestors lived given hotter countries have people with darker skin so the sun can’t burn them. Likewise colder countries people have lighter skin as the sun isn’t there often
Face Of Unemployment
When asked what the term “Cringetopia” refers to, the moderator explained that it’s exactly what it looks like, “an amalgamation of the words 'cringe' and 'utopia.'” Moreover, “It's a place where any cringe that doesn't break our relatively lax community rules or Reddit sitewide rules is allowed.”
The moderator of the community sees cringe as inherently subjective. “What makes one person cringe, another person may think is entirely normal,” he said and continued that “My take on it is that we've all done stupid stuff that we look back on and cringe about, and looking at these people is a good way to relive that feeling, even if it's not the exact situation that we've been in ourselves.”

Fjallmadur also added that “we laugh at those folks, feel second-hand embarrassment over what we see, and share it with others, but I think that it's ultimately a way for us to empathize with the people who are being featured on this subreddit.”
And although there are “some bad apples in the bunch,” according to the moderator, “we're not about bullying or spreading hate at all; it's all just for entertainment and understanding other people at the end of the day.”
Turns out, the subreddit has a bit of a bad rep from other communities because “they feel like we're bullying people,” but Fjallmadur stressed the fact that their community is exactly the opposite. “Our community is all-inclusive, as you can see from our wonderful mod team, and I feel like we do a pretty good job as a whole to enjoy the light-hearted picking while avoiding actually hurting anyone,” they concluded.

A Divorcing Couple Dividing Up Their Beanie Baby Collection In Court, 1999
I know. Those things are worth less than dirt now.
Load More Replies...Honestly, if I got married then divorced, I’d fight for full custody of my beanie babies.
STOP IT, YOURE KILLING ME HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Load More Replies..."So once we've covered the lawyers' fees, paid off the mortgage, set aside funds for the kids to go to college... these Beanie Babies will be worth... f**k all. Still."
His face looks more like "I don't get paid enough for that s**t."
Load More Replies..."Bob, I think this one is yours" "Melinda, I found the one your mother gave you"
This is why I could never be a judge, I might go all wise biblical on them and threaten to chop them all in half
Load More Replies...Not really, considering that fact that they couldn't reach this point with out having to go to court first.
Load More Replies...I don't think this is cringe. I see 2 people that shared a passion and are now going separate ways, decide on a fair distribution of a collection that they built together. It's no more different than a couple splitting books, art or photos.
I can literally imagine.... "I want the tiger!" "No, I want the tiger!" Judge: "whoever had the tiger first gets it" "we-we got that as a gift for out wedding...." *both sob and hug with tiger in between them and get back together* its probably not what happened but I wouldn't be surprised
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I CANT STOP LAUGHING HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THIS CANT BE REAL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA SOMEONE GET ME OFF THIS PLANET HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I guess once they'd finished talking about Beanie Babies they had nothing left to say to each other
What happens to the ones neither of them want? Do they become wards of the court?
If i had been the judge, i would have had them take the entire collection outside and sort them into different boxes and then I would have sprayed fuel all over them and incinerated them and told them to grow the hell up.
If I had been the judge, I would have to hold myself in contempt because I wouldn't be able to stop laughing.
Load More Replies...Regardless of what it is, whether it's beanie babies, china plates or crystal dragons, those people like their stuff, and that's ok.
and people say court tv is boring... the drama and tension here is palpable
We didn't do it in court, but when I divorced, we rolled a 20-sided die to see who got to pick first from our board games. It seemed fitting...😅
I have a large collection of vintage advertising tins. When I got divorced, she wanted half, even though they were mine from before I met her. I gave her the 12 that she'd bought me, & a year later I saw them all crushed in her wastebasket. So glad I stood my ground. I'd also left her all my grandparents antique furniture. Twenty years ago I went to see my sons before they moved out of state. I noticed their mom had bought all new furniture. I asked what happened to my grandparent's stuff & my sons told me she took each piece out back & smashed them with sledge hammers. I asked why she did that, my sons told me she said "they were old". Yeah, vintage 1930s furniture in great shape that I would have loved to have back.
If they valued the collection so much, why is it so poorly conserved and thrown on the floor like that?
I'm sure the judge and lawyers were like This is why I went to law school all those years!
Wow, You'd think these two people would be so perfect for each other seen as how they both think this is normal.
And the lawyer is just sitting there pretending to arrange papers.I can almost hear him in my head: what did i f*ck up in my life that lead me here xDDD
I think sometimes couple fight for stuff not because they want it but because they don't the other to have it.
My ex and I did this with our CD collection. We have two children and custody want an issue with them
Isn't this a waste of the court's time? I can understand they might want to share them out, but why do it in court?
Question is did they divide up their children before or after this? (And what did they do with the third one?)

The Baby Would Rather Be Deaf
I take issue with the idea of a baby's consent here. All decisions for a baby is against their knowledge and consent. No one consents to being born. That's not problematic, that's literally how babies work. If a toddler says they don't want to change diapers ever again, letting them decide that would be abuse. Just take care of babies and don't scar them and they'll be fine. Consent is a super important topic but it really means something else when it comes to babies.

Random thought: what happened to Krazy Kanuck? Haven't seen him comment for a while.
Or OGs like Hans, John L., etc if you go that far back. I still see a lot of our "popular" pandas out and about occasionally, but their comments are much less frequent. Part of it is probably just changes in their lives, but I feel like the more frequent argumentative/clickbait-y type posts have been large factors. I think in its' golden age BP was 99% pet/animal lists, comics, and art, which meant people had more opportunity to make funny and entertaining comments, but more recently it's been getting bogged down by political content and more "bad" stuff (eg more posts like "50 times people experienced evil neighbors" vs feel good stuff like "50 times strangers helped people"). Also a lot more beauty content, which isn't necessarily bad, but causes a lot of negativity for people with discussions about upsetting beauty standards. I find it kinda sad really, because our pandas are getting into more debates in the comments and we've lost a lot of the unity and good vibes :(
