While the world is chock full of amazing people who go out of their way to brighten someone else’s day with kindness, it’s also got quite a few bad apples who don’t care what happens to everyone else, so long as they get whatever they want. And some… some enjoy wrecking other people’s day just for a cheap, malicious laugh.

Sadly these are probably legal. I drive a low slung roadster and get blinded by the cars behind me if they get too close as both side mirrors and the rear view mirror direct the headlights towards me - I can dip the rear view mirror, but the not so easy with the side mirrors. The worst are SUVs as their headlights are higher - I think it needs a change in the law to make the beam range a set distance from the car rather than 2% down angle.

There was a family who had a member test positive, so the parents, being such good role models, took their entire family to another town so they would feel so “cooped up”. The woman had the audacity to post her sick family members recent diagnosis AND their decision to spread the virus throughout a town so that they could feel unrestrained and unrestricted.The depths of cluelessness is noteworthy. I was so happy a couple of months later to learn just how effective contact tracing was and how personal injury lawyers were taking cases.
Stuff like this burns me. This exact situation is how I got Covid. A delivery customer of mine didn't mention that they had Covid until I arrived at their apartment. A few days later, I tested positive for Covid.
Quarantine - You keep using that word... I don't think it means what you think it means.

Oh god, THIS! I had this happen in November 2020. Lady casually mentions she'd JUST been tested positive for COVID but needed her few items before she went home to quarantine. I was furious. Didn't show it, but the guy behind her had already started to put a few items on my belt. I stopped my line as soon as she left, stoppered the belt, and asked him not to put anything else on while I sterilized everything. He said, "what for, fake-VID?" and I said, "Yes, and that woman just tested positive and openly said so. I am sterilizing everything and I recommend you use this sanitizer immediately, and please touch nothing until I clean all the surrounding surface areas." I never saw someone go as white as he did so fast. He did not move lanes, but even after I spent several minutes soaking and scrubbing every touching/service area in my lane and where I stood, he still put a plastic bag over his hand when handling the money part, and said he was thankful I was always so careful.
Adding on that I suggested he move lanes, as I needed to report my exposure immediately after sterilizing the area, but he declined. I got him through quickly, re-sterilized the belt again, and kept my lane closed while I reported for possible exposure. The verdict was that between the fact I was masked, stopped everything immediately to sterilize, and she was in my lane for about two minutes along with my high sterility standards (between every customer!) and (passable but not great) semi-safe barriers meant that I could keep working. I was very uncertain about this, and at bare minimum, refused to allow anyone into my place for two weeks off the clock even after I was tested and was negative for COVID. I was sooo angry, because I have that kind of asthma and had been VERY CAREFUL, as much as possible for such a risky public job!

Seriously, people need to look up words like quarantine and isolation. My husband and son had recently been out of country. They were tested 2x, negative. Son had a dr appt in a hospital. And the hospital staff put them into isolation WITH A GUY WHO HAD COVID. 2 days later, my husband and son tested positive. A hospital ffs!

I'm genuinely concerned for Americans lack of vocabulary /spelling etc. I'm not a grammar freak and I'm not trying to seem highly strung. Still shouldn't really assume English is someone's first language no matter where they live though. Or that they might not have had a mild learning complication such as dyslexia, which is very common. Yes, it would be great if we could all speak and write to a high standard in this and other languages but apart from there being more people and more social mobility (until covid!) so that there are possibly greater impacts on education, has it actually worsened? This couple comes almost an hour later, demands to enter my house to see my other plants (no way) and when i went inside to get them other plant they stole two from me.
