A false sense of entitlement, deep-seated insecurity, and a penchant for rudeness are what separates real jerks from the people we’d rather keep company.
While the world is chock full of amazing people who go out of their way to brighten someone else’s day with kindness, it’s also got quite a few bad apples who don’t care what happens to everyone else, so long as they get whatever they want. And some… some enjoy wrecking other people’s day just for a cheap, malicious laugh.
Bored Panda has collected a series of examples of people calling out some of the biggest, rudest, most entitled jerks in the world. Scroll down for the worst of the worst. Just be prepared for some of the most infuriating posts you’ll have seen in a long while.
And when you’re done with this list, you can take a peek at some of the biggest encounters with jerks that people had in our earlier posts here, here, and here. You know, in case you feel like you’re full of righteous anger enough as it is.

When Your Neighbors Are Exhausted Of Your Fighting, It's Time To Reflect On Some Things

People often lash out at others or try to ruin someone else’s day because they have some deeply enrooted insecurities and this is how they try to deal with their lack of confidence. By putting others down, by putting themselves first, they try to prove to themselves (and the world) that they’re better. That they’re worthy of love, attention, and respect.
However, if left unchecked, these insecurities can lead to a miserable life. Both for the entitled and those who are left to pick up the pieces after the chaos.

If You Leave Public Park Tables Like This, You’re A Jerk
Psychotherapist Silva Neves, who is based in the United Kingdom, shared with Bored Panda his insights about insecure behavior, how it’s expressed, and (perhaps most importantly) what the cure for it is. He summarized the core of the issue as some people having a mindset that simply screams “I’m not enough!” And that is the root limiting belief that leads to a lot of anguish for a lot of people.

"Insecurity carries the message: 'I'm not enough', 'I'm not good enough,' or even 'I'm worthless.' These are painful beliefs to have about ourselves but many do have those underlying beliefs," the therapist got to the core of the beliefs that many people who are seen as rude, entitled, and angry seem to have. However, not all insecure people behave the same. Individuals who are insecure can behave very differently. While some lash out, others shut themselves off from the world.

“Insecurity can manifest either by making themselves invisible (If I'm not seen, nobody will notice my flaws), or the opposite, by what we call 'bragging': shouting at everybody about how wonderful they are. This is usually to try to persuade to themselves that they are good enough,” Silva told Bored Panda.
If Your Headlights, Not Even Your High Beams, Are This Bright, You Deserve To Go Straight To Hell
Sadly these are probably legal. I drive a low slung roadster and get blinded by the cars behind me if they get too close as both side mirrors and the rear view mirror direct the headlights towards me - I can dip the rear view mirror, but the not so easy with the side mirrors. The worst are SUVs as their headlights are higher - I think it needs a change in the law to make the beam range a set distance from the car rather than 2% down angle.
People Are So Infuriating
Both the 'stocking up' and the blatant disregard for everyone else's safety is just bonkers here.
There's nothing wrong with stocking up. The less I have to go to the store the better. Big difference between hoarding and stocking up.

Load More Replies...There was a family who had a member test positive, so the parents, being such good role models, took their entire family to another town so they would feel so “cooped up”. The woman had the audacity to post her sick family members recent diagnosis AND their decision to spread the virus throughout a town so that they could feel unrestrained and unrestricted. The depths of cluelessness is noteworthy. I was so happy a couple of months later to learn just how effective contact tracing was and how personal injury lawyers were taking cases.
Stuff like this burns me. This exact situation is how I got Covid. A delivery customer of mine didn't mention that they had Covid until I arrived at their apartment. A few days later, I tested positive for Covid.
Quarantine - You keep using that word... I don't think it means what you think it means.
There should have a charge created to punish those people. Get them for biological terrorism or something.
This happened in January 2022? I was going to give the lady the benefit of the doubt that she hadn't heard of grocery delivery yet, but goodness gracious! No way she didn't know about that option!
On my way home from getting tested - I didn’t even stop at a drive-thru place, just in case. I didn’t want to expose anyone at all, even remotely.
Same. I get really paranoid every time I feel ill and I’ll see no one at all until I know I’m negative.
Load More Replies...Oh god, THIS! I had this happen in November 2020. Lady casually mentions she'd JUST been tested positive for COVID but needed her few items before she went home to quarantine. I was furious. Didn't show it, but the guy behind her had already started to put a few items on my belt. I stopped my line as soon as she left, stoppered the belt, and asked him not to put anything else on while I sterilized everything. He said, "what for, fake-VID?" and I said, "Yes, and that woman just tested positive and openly said so. I am sterilizing everything and I recommend you use this sanitizer immediately, and please touch nothing until I clean all the surrounding surface areas." I never saw someone go as white as he did so fast. He did not move lanes, but even after I spent several minutes soaking and scrubbing every touching/service area in my lane and where I stood, he still put a plastic bag over his hand when handling the money part, and said he was thankful I was always so careful.
Adding on that I suggested he move lanes, as I needed to report my exposure immediately after sterilizing the area, but he declined. I got him through quickly, re-sterilized the belt again, and kept my lane closed while I reported for possible exposure. The verdict was that between the fact I was masked, stopped everything immediately to sterilize, and she was in my lane for about two minutes along with my high sterility standards (between every customer!) and (passable but not great) semi-safe barriers meant that I could keep working. I was very uncertain about this, and at bare minimum, refused to allow anyone into my place for two weeks off the clock even after I was tested and was negative for COVID. I was sooo angry, because I have that kind of asthma and had been VERY CAREFUL, as much as possible for such a risky public job!
Load More Replies...Seriously, people need to look up words like quarantine and isolation. My husband and son had recently been out of country. They were tested 2x, negative. Son had a dr appt in a hospital. And the hospital staff put them into isolation WITH A GUY WHO HAD COVID. 2 days later, my husband and son tested positive. A hospital ffs!
And no person did bodily harm to her? At least bar her from the store forever and make her wear an ankle bracelet.
obviously the twatwaffle doesn't understand the meaning of the term "quarantine"...
If it had been a car accident you'd of exchanged insurance info. So this train wreck of an encounter should be no different.
I would've told her to leave the store immediately without her groceries. And then if someone felt like being nice enough to continue ringing up the items and take them out to her car , leave them in the shopping cart, apparently she's well enough to shop so she cans well enough to pack up her own s**t take her money and get out of there.!
If I was in quarantine, I have relatives that would deliver me groceries but there are also delivery services.
I'm genuinely concerned for Americans lack of vocabulary /spelling etc. I'm not a grammar freak and I'm not trying to seem highly strung. I'm genuinely upset when I see these 'dumb American' type posts. My school was underperforming and underfunded, in a very very bad area. But the teachers cared enough to make sure we all knew enough to get by. Where has it wrong America?
Still shouldn't really assume English is someone's first language no matter where they live though. Or that they might not have had a mild learning complication such as dyslexia, which is very common. Yes, it would be great if we could all speak and write to a high standard in this and other languages but apart from there being more people and more social mobility (until covid!) so that there are possibly greater impacts on education, has it actually worsened? Or are you just seeing more because of social media, which often has its own 'style'?
Load More Replies...I think some people just say that to freak people out and keep them away from them or talking to them. I've heard people say they do this because they're "InTrOvErTs"
Actually if she had a mask this is not that bad. Unless you live in a place where they drop food at your door if you got infected ? For sure in Belgium this is not the case, and it is also not the intention to starve to death and it is actually legal to go to stores for food.
But there are people WITH NO HELP in quarantine who still have to eat...and shop!
There is being prepared though. How hard is it to just increase your regular shop with a few store cupboard meals (if they don't actually have a freezer) and other supplies so you can get by just in case? Places also do deliver. Highly doubtful this person couldn't, just didn't.

"Another way to counter the 'I'm not enough' is by pushing others down, sabotaging other people's success, or attacking people as a way to feel powerful so that they can control their inner pain of 'I'm not enough,’” the therapist explained how some people think and how they attempt to (unsuccessfully) deal with their inner turmoil.

“All of these strategies don't work because what they do is either internalizing or externalizing the belief 'I'm not enough' rather than changing it," he pointed out that they’re trying to treat the symptoms, not the root of the problem.

"The key to becoming more secure is to change the underlying belief 'I'm not enough' to 'I'm enough.’ "The way to do it is with self-compassion,” Silva advocates for an acceptance of one’s own flaws until we fully internalize that we are good enough. That, in turn, leads us to treat other people better.

Insecurities, according to the psychotherapist, often show up in childhood. They entrench themselves in our character as we grow. But, as we mature into adults, we also gain access to the self-awareness and tools to change these underlying negative beliefs.

Eventually, the brain will listen and slowly change the message 'I'm not enough' to 'I'm enough,'" he said.

Not that vandalism should be condoned but in art stores they USUALLY have an area to test paints/pens etc because you don't want to buy the product to find out this brand "burnt umber" is wildly different from that brand's "burnt umber".
