I drive a low slung roadster and get blinded by the cars behind me if they get too close as both side mirrors and the rear view mirror direct the headlights towards me - I can dip the rear view mirror, but the not so easy with the side mirrors. Whaaatt?!!! This is the first time I've seen something like this. The lid has the color...just why? Also that's a lot so the store allows it?
I am not defending this at all! But from experience with acrylic paints the colour on the container doesn't always reflect the actual colour when the product dries. I feel like the store could use either a dedicated testing area or samples with dried paint on. I would say that would be cheaper than cleaning up after it, but judging by the amount on the floor I feel like that isn't a concern.

In our state, New Mexico, we've had all spray paints in a locked shelf for a long time to stop this and also theft. I thought this was nationwide. This would tick me off if it were my store.

Our local Walmart removed spray paint for this very reason. Our home improvement stores put down wide brown paper to have less mess to clean up. People can be complete pieces of s**t sometimes.
I used to keep a picture like this on my phone when I worked retail, so I could just show people why, when they asked why the spray paint was kept locked up.

My mom used to work in a craft store part time and they had to lock their spray paint up. This was one of the reasons. And it was super frustrating because they were constantly understaffed so having to go unlock the spray paint case was just an extra burden and annoyance, and the customers were always mad at my mom and her coworkers when it was their own sh!ttyness that caused it.
The reason it gets this bad is one idiot starts it off, then someone else sees the mark and thinks "Oh, they must let you test it at this store" and it sets off a reaction
I actually had someone respond to me telling him not to test, saying "Why not? Other people have done it!" It took all of my willpower to not respond, " Well if someone else jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?"

During one of the lock downs I cleaned the floor and repainted the shelves, emergency exit door, and nearby walls to their original colour. Those in the paint department of a former employer did the same. Unfortunately within days if reopening new spots appeared. It's annoying as hell!
I can see little kids do this just because they are curious. If they are past 8 or 10, parents can come back and clean it all up as a family or pay to have it done.

This couple comes almost an hour later, demands to enter my house to see my other plants (no way) and when i went inside to get them other plant they stole two from me.
