Have you ever found yourself arguing with someone you perhaps even don’t know that well about a topic that some people might find not that interesting or important and you felt right about it to a point where you would be ready to do whatever it takes to prove your point? Well, it’s probably safe to say that you’re not the only one who has found themselves in such a situation. For this reason, Reddit user @u/Youhavemystapler11 was curious enough to ask others online “What’s a hill you’re willing to die on every time?”. The question that received 32k upvotes encouraged others online to share matters that they strongly believe in and would not let anyone change their minds.
A lot of these answers included topics on certain people’s behaviors, social constructs, and everyday encounters that might sometimes seem to be annoying, such as people who won’t use a turn signal when they’re driving. Seperation of church and state! Keep religion out of politics and decisions that effect everyone
There is a reason the Founding Fathers explicitly kept church and state separated. They knew the history of bloody wars that were fought on religious grounds, so did not want their new country to have a “state religion”, but to make religion a personal choice—-and that choice a Constitutional right. They knew religious bias has NO place in government, as that leads to persecution, so they purposely did not set up the US to be a place that makes such government sanctioned persecution a part of life here.
Children are legally required to be in school, and often have to stay in the building during lunch. We should feed them healthy, nutritious food for free. Every single child.
And be made to go to school while sick, while parents are threatened jail time and removal of their kids if the parents keep them home a day or few longer until they're better.
No one should need to go into debt for their health
Or their education. Or be hugely overcharged for rent on a small apartment, or the mortgage for a starter home.
Children beauty pageants are creepy as f**k and parents who subject their children to such scrutiny and judgement are crazy, and don’t deserve children.
People who get extremely disappointed when they discover the gender of their unborn child aren't emotionally mature enough to raise a child.
And people who comment on (mostly) men's "inability" to produce a male offspring (saying things like "oh, too weak to make a boy, eh", surprisingly and disgustingly common thing in Russia) should be surgically prevented from procreating.
Wanting to be childless or not even marry doesn't mean something is wrong with you.

If you have 3 items in a row (red, yellow, blue) in a sentence, there is a debate as to whether proper English writing of the listing is: A) red, yellow, and blue (comma before ‘and’) or B) red, yellow and blue (no comma before ‘and’). Oxford comma is (A), always putting a comma before the ‘and’.

I can't see how the Oxford comma can be a bad thing. I've been using it for about 60 or my 64 years, and it has done me no ill-will at all.
Not using an Oxford comma makes sentences look really weird for me. It is somehow asymmetrical, unbalanced, and odd-looking. It is like the rhythm is disturbed without it.
I find the exact opposite to be true as I was taught to never use a comma before an 'and'. It all comes down to how you are taught and what you are accustomed to.

I didn't learn of the existence of the Oxford comma until a few years ago. Now I use it always. And by always I mean properly

I distinctly remember being taught to not use the Oxford comma - it was a phase to not use it in the US.
Reminds me of a photo example of this I saw once, thus cementing my love for it. It was two pictures with the example of bacon, toast, and orange juice. One had each separately set on a table next to each other. The other had some bacon next to a plate of toast with orange juice poured on top of it. It was the most succinct way of explaining it I ever saw.

Term limits for every branch of government in the U.S.
Retirement age sounds reasonable. Government needs a huge infusion of new blood, new ideas, new viewpoints. Politicians are making decisions now that will affect generations to come, and I would like at least some representatives from those generations to have a voice. Also, there should be a limit to how many consecutive elections you can be on the ballot for. It’s perfectly fine for politics to be your career—-for a while—-but not one you only leave by dying of extreme old age.
Public libraries are undervalued by many.
My pet peeve. Small town libraries can absolutely become the life blood of an area when they provide computers and printers and classes especially for stuff like life skills like understanding taxes and mortgage, as well as literacy for children. I used to be on the board for our village library and I've seen children who've never held a book in their hand become enchanted at books. Video and movies are nice and all, but books open entire universes in your mind.

The Manitoba government thinks minimum wage is only for "young adults just starting out in the workforce. It's not supposed to be a career goal. We're not raising the minimum wage to match inflation". These people are so out of touch about what's out there for jobs and how much is needed to live. $10 for a bag of oranges, now, at the supposed cheap grocery stores. You would have to work about 45 min to afford a bag of oranges.

Die Hard is a Christmas movie. The plot does not exist if it happens at any other time. John McClain is there to visit his family for Christmas. The bad guys are at Nakatomi Plaza because there's less security during the holidays. The people who are taken hostage are there for a Christmas party. Christmas is an integral part of the movie, therefore it is a Christmas movie.

The purpose of praise is not always to make someone feel good. When I praised my students, it was to encourage them to continue their efforts and to identify models to other students. You may not need to hear the praise, but there may be fathers in the room who need to hear you getting it.

Didn't see this one but - Civil Asset Forfeiture as it's practiced now is nothing but legalized theft and should have been declared unconstitutional a long time ago. ...Also the SCOTUS-invented idea of "Qualified Immunity" is Bulls*it.
