Mom Shares Her 14 Y.O. Son’s Face In Response To J.Lo At The Super Bowl, Other Parents Share Their Kids’ Reactions
Jennifer Lopez and Shakira delivered a memorable halftime show at this year’s Super Bowl. At times it even seemed that people were talking about it more than the game itself. However, the opinions were very mixed.
While some applauded the multi-platinum-selling superstars for their singing and stage presence, others despised the performance calling it overly-sexualized.
Regardless of where you stand on the issue, there’s one aspect of the show we can all agree on. People have posted quite a few hilarious reactions to it. Especially parents. Everything began with a Facebook post by Meridith Masony. After she explained what it was like to watch the broadcast that featured pole dancing with her 14-year-old, other moms and dads responded with their own confessions.

Interestingly, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez didn’t actually make any money. Instead, the pop divas will be paid “union scale,” which is only “a fraction of the six- and seven-figure sums” they regularly rake in. And it isn’t unusual. Most Super Bowl halftime performers, including Maroon 5 and Travis Scott, have essentially worked for free.
But this doesn’t mean that the NFL is simply being cheap. According to Forbes, the organization spends about $10 million in production costs, giving the singers a chance to advertise their work in front of more than 100 million people.
“The halftime show at the Super Bowl remains a highly coveted spot for many artists,” entertainment attorney Lori Landew of Fox Rothschild told Forbes. “Some of those artists do not see their appearance as a political statement, nor do they see the show as a cultural battleground, but rather view their live performance as an opportunity to entertain an enthusiastic crowd and to share their music and their talent with millions of viewers.”
And by the looks of it, it’s already working. Not only the media is buzzing. People on social media are discussing every second of the show as well.
People without kids also shared their two cents on the issue
It was awesome. Just from the picture above you can see J Lo was even wearing undies under her skinsuit. People need to get a grip. I seen Janet Jackson's whole titty when I was younger and I'm still alive.
Bwahahahaha!!! That's right! I remember when Janet had her 'clothing malfunction'. People really lost their s**t, it was hilarious. Glad we were all able to survive that 'crisis'!

Load More Replies...Let's be honest with ourselves and each other for just a moment: A lot of these women are not upset because of what J Lo was wearing, they are upset because of their husbands' reaction to what J Lo was wearing. They didn't have a problem with Adam Levine appearing on this "family program " shirtless and they don't have a problem with the cheerleaders, but they have a problem with J Lo. Are you kidding me? The one lady who "had to cover the TV with a blanket" is the most ridiculous. This is why women can't move forward. Other women hating on women.
Let's be honest with ourselves just a minute. Our culture has become so numb to the idea of sexualizing women's bodies and to the fear of behind snarked by people who think it's more with it if they disagree, that they'll either keep quiet, post in support of objectifying women (because, "come on, women are only being discriminated against by conservatives", cough cough) or down vote any of us who speak out for real feminism. You don't have yo be ugly or out of shape to be a feminist, but sexualizing women's bodies isn't going to help any of us. Additionally, have any of you ever heard of anorexia nervosa, bulimia or purging syndrome?

There's a big difference between performing in a way that shows strength, agility and grace and moving and presenting the body in an obvious sexual fashion. Comparing gymnasts or ice skaters to JLo is inappropriate. JLo was putting it out there to purposely show off her goods. Sliding crotch-first towards the camera twice is no accident or just part of the routine. The ice skaters isnt constantly skating around with her leg in the air, being an exhibitionist. Same for the gymnast. AND they are more covered than JLo, even with the sheer costumes they may wear. The clothing isn't designed purposely to barely cover important parts. JLo purposely wore skin tones panties and mesh with sparkles and sequins jusssttt covering her bits.

My 2 points exactly!! #1 - how are the cheerleaders or beer/go-daddy commercials with women scantily clad or innuendos ANY different?!? #2 - complaining about a woman pole dancing at an NFL game is just hilarious.
There's a huge difference between JLo simulating masturbation and ice skating outfits. People that are making the comparisons because it shows the same amount of a crotch are totally missing the point.
pretty sure women offended by the show are low key jelly they couldn't get the same reaction. to the people calling this an exotic dance; wow, are you misinformed.
The cheerleaders show more skin at every game. Shakira is gorgeous. And she can shake that booty.
In ice skating and gymnastic no one make vulgar moves like what J lo did in half time.
I didn't watch because I figured it would be just another boring Super Bowl half time show. Looks like I was right. Pole dancing? Seen one you've seen them all. I didn't even think it was still being done.
There is a clear difference between gymnastic sports and sexually explicit dancing. It is not illegal to take your kids to gym- it is illegal to take them to a strip club - there is a reason for that... learn it
Didn't see it. In fact, I haven't seen a Super Bowl since 1975. I gather that I didn't miss much... -Dr M
Maybe they just liked the sparkly costumes. Not every pubescent boy is straight, ya know. 😉
Americans are such prudes when it comes to skin showing or what they call "nudity." A bunch of hypocrites! It's funny how these people kept letting their kids watch it and report on it instead of changing the channel or telling their kids to look away. Smdh.
Literally everyone has seen Jlo and Shakira dancing like this for the last 20 years though.
Just one question - If you thought it was inappropriate for your kids to be watching why didn't you turn the TV off?
I think women need to stop exaggerating and they knew JLO abd Shakira would be shaking theirrumpus, change the TV or don't complain about it ur kids probably watch worse things on you tube.,
You know I'm impressed with some of these Mother's and how well they handled the half time show. Dancing is part of life and in this day and time you really cannot hide your kids under a basket to protect them from life. All you can do is try and explain it the best you can and pray they understand. This sadly, is what the world is coming too, so get use to it.
UGh who cares, it was so boring. Could have been many more interesting things they should have done than Jlo (snore)
My 5yr old niece loved the part with the kids singing and Shakira's zaghrouta (tongue-flicking).
First I want to say based on past half time performances, if you are a parent that doesn't want your children exposed to overtly sexual performances, then you should know by now to send them away for half time, because this isn't the first show that has had this kind of dancing. Whether you wish it was kid friendly or not, it isn't so don't let your kids watch. End of story. That being said, to compare the performance to figure skating or gymnastics, is apples to oranges. It is not the outfits that make the performance inappropriate it is the moves of the person wearing the outfit that make it overtly sexual and by some parental standards inappropriate for children.
JLo was wearing a flesh colored bodysuit with the shiny stuff... NOTHING WAS GOING TO BE SHOWING.... F*****g stupid prudes being stupid prudes. What are we, back in the Victorian or puritan era?!? FFS grow up all you stupid moronic imbeciles. "I put a blanket over the TV" why s**t for brains? because you are too stupid to realize that JLo was wearing a flesh colored bodysuit as well as the shiny bits?!? I shouldn't have kept asking how stupid people could get... they seem to have taken it as a challenge.
Get real. Indeed, nothing wrong with nudity or near nudity. What' was wrong and inappropriate for the venue was the clearly sexualized dancing - like the closeups of crotches thrusting into a camera.
I think a lot of people complain that boys grow up thinking it's okay to sexualize women, and they need to be taught that all women are people and deserve to be treated with respect. With that being said, while I loved the performance, I don't think it helped people teach their children not to sexualize women. It's sad that it's a thing that has to be taught to some kids, but if we want to see less adults doing it, we have to teach that it's wrong from a young age.
There's a difference between sexualizing and objectifying. If a woman wants to wear tight clothes or be flirty, good for her, I support that, that's her choice. However objectifying a woman is when you talk about a girl's body who doesn't want people to sexualize her. J Lo's and Shakiras performance was a very sexual performance, it was meant to be sexualized. A girl just walking home in a crop top minding her business doesn't want to be sexualized, that's objectifying.

Load More Replies...People are getting offended by just breathing it seems... Nowadays everyone is a delicate little flower ffs
So you are campaigning to get NFL cheerleaders off the field? They actually do face horrible sexual harassment and low pay. 4ACB4F3900...774425.jpg
