Let’s all just give a big round of applause to all parents who dedicated their 18 years (or rather, their whole lives) to professionally taming a little daredevil, and often not one but two or three, or more. With bloodshot eyes and not much fuel left in their tank, moms, dads and caregivers keep surprising us all with their sheer level of resilience, straight face, and even a smile.
Because raising kids is not for the faint-hearted. So in order to remind us of that, Bored Panda compiled a collection of posts where kids made their parents' day really miserable.
So that your coffee stain, lost keys and really important email sent out to the wrong address won’t feel so bad!

Just Brilliant
And This Is Exactly Why You Shouldn’t Let Your Kids Go In The Bathroom Together With You
It Wasn’t Even Double Stuffed
To find out about navigating parenting in these crazily uncertain times, Bored Panda reached out to Natalie Maximets, a certified life transformation coach at “Online Divorce,” which is a professional divorce document preparation service with 20 years of market history.
“The pandemic and isolation have certainly shocked every family with a child. Now our houses or apartments aren’t just places where we live. Currently, this space also serves as an office, a school, a place for activities, etc.,” Natalie told us.
According to her, the situation is twofold. “On the one hand, parents are constantly with their children and can devote more time to them. But on the other hand, not everyone can withstand such a stress test as limited space doesn’t provide an opportunity to direct one’s energy and emotions outward.”

What’s more, the need to combine multiple roles is even more obvious. There are many challenges parents can face during times of pandemic and postpandemic. “First, they have to act as teachers because of homeschooling. However, not all parents have the necessary skills to explain the subject matter to their children easily. Moreover, with this additional role, it becomes more challenging to maintain a balance,” Natalie explained.
“Second, parents can face behavioral problems in their children. Due to a lack of interaction with other kids, the inability to play with someone other than their parents, and a limited list of activities, children can become irritable, aggressive, or hyperactive (it’s purely individual).” Natalie said that such situations are challenging for both the children and the parents.

“Third, it can be difficult for working parents to take care of their children’s daily routines. Kindergartens, schools, and hobby groups are extremely important. They help structure children's lives, fill them with meaning every day, and reduce conflicts in the family. In the new realities, parents have to think about how to keep their children busy every minute.”

Moreover, Natalie explained that during quarantine, people become closer to each other. As a result, personal boundaries are blurred, leading to two possible scenarios. “In scenario one, parents and children start working against each other, causing conflicts. In scenario two, they manage to establish an even deeper connection with each other. The main thing with the second scenario is to not leave the child alone with their fears.”

For any parent who feels overwhelmed with trying to juggle out these duties, Natalie’s advice is to change perspective. “Young parents may feel overwhelmed, anxious, and stressed out because they take on too much and want to be ideal parents. But remember, the child doesn’t need a perfect mom or dad. They need emotionally healthy parents because the parent’s psychological state directly affects the kids.”
She continued: “Therefore, every time you feel strained to your limits, just stop, exhale, and deal with the problem you can solve at the moment. It will make you feel capable of doing something. Then, try to break bigger problems into smaller ones. You’ll see that there are practically no unsolvable situations.”

At the same time, it seems like there are too many parenting styles and methods out there. Natalie confirmed that the topic is often very controversial, with many parents having strong opinions about raising their children. “But at the same time, the goal is always the same—to raise a happy, healthy, and successful child. Each of the existing parenting styles and methods focuses on it.”

According to the life coach, it is crucial to find the one that works for your child. “For example, the well-known Montessori method may not suit an active child. Waldorf education may not work for children with strong leadership qualities and a great need for physical activity. Technique by Cecil Lupan requires the baby’s mother to spend almost all of her time exercising with her child.”

Natalie added that there is no single recipe to understand what is suitable for your child. Having said that, she also listed some steps you may want to think about. “First, you should analyze your child’s personality and the required level of physical activity, creativity, and socialization. Second, think about the 4 main parenting styles (authoritarian, authoritative, permissive, uninvolved) and try to predict your child’s reaction to each of them. Perhaps in your case, you can’t choose one style. Then, think about how you can mix them or even work out your own.”
Natalie concluded that as a parent, you can also go to a professional psychologist who will talk with you and your child, determine strong sides and interests, and suggest possible options.

More nonsense from the USA. In Japan, delivery is one of the very few things not covered by insurance. Instead, my hometown pays 100% of the cost ... including a 10-day stay in the hospital and parenting classes including how to feed, change a diaper, etc.
This is so strange. As a swede, we don’t goddanged PAY for this. We have something wonderful called “taxes”, which effectively makes sure that society stays somewhat equal and makes sure people don’t have to godd*mned PAY to have their godd*mned CHILD delivered safely at a hospital. That way, even poor people gets a chance to, you know… live. US, I’m so sorry.
Load More Replies...The bills are so huge that I'm sure the air is included in the payments too
Load More Replies...This is the one which infuriates me the most. What *exactly* did the hospital do in this scenario? Are they literally charging for the surgeon (who presumably was holding the baby after the C-section) to *lean over a bit* to put baby into mommy's arms? And leaning costs nearly $40?!!
Maybe because the mom needs some cleaning up afterwards..? But yeah...sad and infuriating...
Load More Replies...That's horrible, but sadly not surprising🙀 Nothing chocks me anymore about America, I just feel deeply saddened for the people.
I've lived in the US for 15 years, and there are so many things to love about this country and their people... US "healthcare" is absolutely despicable and infuriating, and it makes me sad that it causes people to generalize and act like everything is bad over there.
Load More Replies...Disgusting. I'll take a screenshot and ask New Zealand for political asylum. We are not citizens of a country, we are customers to be squeezed until nothing squirts out anymore.
Yes, New Zealand is a great choice except for the fact that a mere three hours after my daughter delivered, they packed her and baby into the car with very nervous husband and had him to drive 40 minutes in the middle of the night to the "Maternity Home" where she got to stay for five days until healed and breast feeding going well.
Load More Replies...Delivery C section - quantity 79. Maybe because it's Monday morning but I don't get it
Quantity refers to minutes for procedures. The C-section took 79 minutes. However, with the skin to skin contact and lactation consult, quantity likely refers to number of times it occurred.
Load More Replies...This makes me choke to see US hospital bills. I had two children via c-section, 9 days and 5 days in hospital respectively, semi private room and all medications and meals. My total bill on discharge from hospital - $0.00 Yes, I live in Canada. No, nothing was paid by any insurance. We have universal healthcare.
Someone on this thread said that "most Americans are happy with their insurance." Why do 69% of Americans want universal healthcare like yours, then?
Load More Replies...This is so sad. The guy (must be a guy) who decided this must be very proud of himself.
Yup! Should we start charging the doctors for the number of times we have to squeeze our husbands balls to get all the sperm out? ( no, that is not a thing!) Lol it's a dramatization of costing out each step. If I were an OB-GYN, I would charge one price for it all. And then tell them what not to accept while in the hospital. I would also allow them to have their own meds in there, ( regular meds) so they aren't charged 5.00 for a heart or BP med!
Load More Replies...Totally has to be the US (where I reside, live might be too strong a word). My insurance was supposed to cover all but $400 of my hip replacement in 2008. I was pre approved, all the paperwork was done, etc. I paid the final bill in full. Months later I heard from a collection agency demanding $2500 or so on the hospital's behalf. I asked for an itemized invoice. They sent me a statement. I called and again requested an itemized invoice. I made the same request of them, same response - I got a statement with a "balance owing". I called them and basically said, "I can create this exact same piece of paper on my home computer. Send me AN ITEMIZED INVOICE on hospital letterhead or Go F**k Yourself". It was a scam & I never heard from them again.
as a 13 year old living in america... is it too late to pick a different country of birth?
Just don't have babies. But hurry up if you need an abortion...
Load More Replies...The absolute nonsense the medical industry pulls in the US is disguising.
Not to mention the hospital food is pretty much artificially flavored vomit
So, having a baby in 2016 cost over $13,250 in the USofA. Good to know.
Also charging for a consultation on how to breastfeed … Even charging her twice !
I am from Germany and this is so ridiculous to me - Compare Universal health care services: Birth caesarian or not, complication or not = payed for. If you need to stay in hospital you pay 10 Euros per day for 14 days a year max... The child pays nothing.. It is on your insurance whatever you need before and after birth like physio or whatever... 10 Euros per perscription (6 sessions) or nothing if it would be a hardship for you, you do not pay at all... Any kind of surgery, cancer treatment etc is covered
Good ole USA medical coverage that will soak you for every dollar you have and more...........
Having my baby in New Zealand was amazing (moved from UK in 2015), 100% free, could stay in the maternity unit for as long as I needed (stayed 4 nights), ensuite room with 3 x meals per day, had the birth exactly how I wanted it and the care I had was perfect.
Unbelievable nerve! But Corporate America is doing its part to stick it to you, as soon as the baby is born. My recent mistake of going to ER, after car wreck, for pics of neck cost 56 k. And insurance covered 1/2 of the bill.
There should be universal healthcare in the US, like they have in so many other countries.
This one actually infuriates me. The cost of delivering a child is astronomical as is. But to charge new parents for skin to skin contact right after delivery is beyond outrageous. That's not a service offered by the hospital. It eould also help is there was maternity/paternity leave equally so new parents have time with their child without having to also wear themselves out at a thankless, dead end, underpaying job.
U.S. sucks. Should also be a law that PAID maternity leave be offered for BOTH parents if the father is in the picture. Women are just expected to jump into caring for a new life after just giving birth or having a C-section with no one to help them settle in. Women as still in pain days/weeks after a birth even if it’s natural. I seriously hate US health care
Also in the US, the ER charges you like $30 for "self administration of medication". That was not for the tylenol itself, which was lumped in with "medication", but for me taking the tylenol out of the cup and putting it in my mouth by myself. I offered to just take one from my purse but they wouldn't let me and when I got the bill, I found out why. I am saving this entry for my collection of examples I use when advocating for universal healthcare.
This is what happens when the predominately rich white male Congressional members don't pass necessary health care laws.
Pay to give birth???? Not in Denmark, it's free and other healthcare needs
In Portugal, health services are free! And even in private hospitals, prices are not that nonsense!
Is this fucken real? How the F**k you human charge a women for holding HER FUCKEN BABY that she just pushed out of her OWN BODY after making it out of nothing for the last nine months. This is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. You're being charged for using your own skin.. to touch the skin of your own baby... nowhere in this scenario does it involve anyone but the two people who aren't owned by the hospital... like seriously this just made me angry. I don't even have kids n I'm about to start a fucken protest
That, should be an included! Wonder what they would do, if a mom said, no, no, I will wait. I'll hold my baby for free in my room, thanks.
USA Charity Hospitals. I had to stop by a charity hospital while I was working on some papers for them and was shocked to see signs that said 'full delivery and aftercare $900 and other signs explaining how to get total free delivery and pre-care and after care by just signing up. In 9 different languages. I saw a LOT of very young women there who were pregnant and with many small children.
Trumpublicans don’t give a s**t about our country or anyones well being except their own
Rather ridiculous considering skin to skin contact is done by the parents, no medicle advice or aid is actually needed for it.
This actually went viral and was explained. It was a way of charging for the extra medical person that has to be right next to Mama for skin to skin straight after a C-section.
I guess you had to pay for the 2 minutes that the nurses had to wait while you were holding the baby...In the US time is money, even in the maternity ward of a hospital...
They will charge you as much as you let them. Argue the bill. Most people let it slide. Not me.
I had my child, demanded an itemized bill, saw a $50 charge for .33 ounces of breast cream. Refused it and it removed from my bill. It was bag balm. $3.00 for a quart at my local feed and seed.
different in Finland, come here, we're the happiest country in the world ✌️😗
You didn't pay to hold your baby. You paid for a skin to skin after a c section meaning you could not hold the baby at all. Meaning a nurse had to hold the baby to your skin and face so you could see it and talk to it for a few seconds. You were not forced. You could have opted out.
This doesn't surprise me. They charge you a fee for breathing in the hospitals.
If the US healthcare system gets any worse, I'm gonna start making plans to move to a more affordable country the second I'm out of college.
Why even pay that? They’re not going to repossess the baby, are they? SMH.
I was charged 80,000 rupees for a two day, induced labour, normal delivery+ stay in the hospital, in one of the top maternity hospitals in Bangalore. We managed to find so many error additions, and brought it down to 65,000 rupees. And still we are nowhere near this bill. In Indian rupees it's nearly 14 times more. Who charges a mum to hold her baby😳
Can I just ask, if you are in the US and you go into labour and need treatment to save your life, you are billed for it? If you are run over, do you also need to pay for your treatment? What happens if you can't pay? Do they come back to finish you off?
People in England think our health care is outrageous and they're correct.
This is apparently only after a c-section, and they aren't charging you to hold your baby, but actually for the additional nurse to make sure mom and baby are safe considering all the drugs in mom's system after the c-section
Health care and hospital stay incl ambulance are totally free in Norway. Doesn't matter if you had infection, hip replacement or cancer. All free of course. Your private economy is not affected by this. Billionaires don't pay, and neither does people struggling with finance. Out-patient care we pay for, but only upto about 3000 (2022 number) kroners, about $ 335, in the entire calendar year. After you reach that number, doesn't matter if it's March or October. Visiting you private docter or an out-patient clinic. It's free. That sum (3000) incl doctors appointments, any medication for your chronic disease (meaning if you have a small infection and need antibiotics for 10 days, that you pay for). It even includes if you need physiotherapy or psychiatrist during the year. You pay at the start of new year, after 3000, it's free. Everything is free for children under the age of 16 yrs old, with the exception of medication for non-chronic illnesses, as mentioned before.
There may be an explanation for such a charge. Most c-section mothers don't get to hold their kids right away. https://slate.com/human-interest/2016/10/hospitals-charge-new-parents-for-skin-to-skin-contact.html#:~:text=Yes%2C%20Hospitals%20Actually%20Charge%20New%20Parents%20for%20Holding%20Their%20Babies&text=The%20reason%20the%20bill%20went,%2C%E2%80%9D%20as%20he%20put%20it.
Bree in Canada parents don't have to pay anything in the hospital for their baby.
If anyone here had done a shred of research they'd realize why the hospital actually charged the $39. It was because they needed an extra nurse to come into the room to assist the mother on holding the baby safely after her procedure.
Hwhy... I mean, they do not lose anything, there are not equipment needed, nor asistence from a nurse or an extra blanket... Why, how can they justify this?
Technically, you had to pay $39.95 to have your baby’s nurse in the room while you held him.
The skin to skin is normally when the baby needs skin contact to warm up after birth to get the system going all the way. Not for you to hold your baby after it's born.
wow you dont pay anything in Canada unless you request special 'favours'
Geez... My insurance was billed 80K when I delivered my son May 29th 2004. 30K for baby and 50K for my stay.
When I had an emergency C-section (after 26 hours of labor), I was forced to have both of my hands strapped down to the OR table during the entire C-section and afterwards while they were stitching me up (a hospital policy I was not aware of until they started holding my arms down) . I definitely was not able to touch or hold him right after delivery. They held him up for me to see him and then left with my husband to go bathe him. Meanwhile, the 2 ob/gyns talked leisurely between themselves and the anesthesiologist sat right beside my head writing her medical notes with ear buds in. I felt so lonely and objectified during what was supposed to be such a spiritual moment in a mom's life. I remember laying there with tears streaming from my eyes wondering if my baby's ok and when I'd get to hold him for the first time. There seems to be many important issues and policies that hospitals fail to tell you before it's too late.
That makes no sense. My wife's insurance has been covering my kids since they were born. She doesn't even have that insurance any more but it's still covered under "Well Baby". Unless the kid is sick, all normal checkups and shots, etc. are covered until they are 18. We had checkups done at our home. She had breast feeding help at our home. Concierge service in the birthing room with a spare bed for me. Free DVD rental, a stereo system. It was crazy good service from the hospital. I guess it depends on what insurance you have or the choice of hospital. Some places over-charge, others don't.
Is it right to assume that, if this woman did not have an insurance, she would have to pay 13K to give a birth with c-section?
Glad I'm Canadian. 2 kids, both skin to skin after births, breastfed both(lactation consults) oh also had a midwife come to my home every day and I didn't pay anything out of pocket. Just regular taxes.
3000+ FOR A C SECTION?! WHY ARE WE SO EXPENSIVE??????!!!!!! ALSO YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HOLD YR BABY FOR FREE And congratulations
Jeez - Most of Europe, including the now excluded UK, where I sadly live, haven't charged for maternity / Obs / Gyn procedures for about 60 years, sometimes more. Just goes to show what a backward country the USA is (and getting worse). Hopefully Biden will slow, halt and turn the idiocy round that started with that c**t Reagan and was brought to a head with the worst president in the history of the US. If you still want to vote Republican you really do need to see either a historian or a psychiatrist. ......
As bad as this sounds, my sister had 2 babies in Greece. Both times she paid to go private, both times she was induced. On both occasions, here baby was taken straight off her because it was not visiting time. The first time, it took over 2 hours after giving birth to see her baby. No one seemed to think it was wierd.
Not nonsense in the US IMO. Unless there are complications from the birth or C-section surgery, it proven that patients heal better and faster if not in hospital for 24 or less. The US leads the world in the lowest mortality rate for newborn and mothers.
Um, nooo. The US has one of the highest (if not THE highest) rate of infant and mother mortality rates of any developed nation. AND it's been increasing over the last two years. NOTE: "The [infant] mortality rate in the United States was 5.44 in 2020. This rate was 50th among the 195 countries and territories measured, and significantly higher than in dozens of other developed countries such as Sweden (2.15), Japan (1.82), and Australia (3.14)."
Load More Replies...It may be on the bill, but I'm willing to bet that the insurance company didn't pay it. And by law in The United States it's illegal to bill the patient if "discounted or denied".
Childbirth costs $0 here in Australia and for my 1st one I was in labour for 41 hours and spent a week in hospital all up.
And $62 dollars to explain how to milk the baby....really? They charge for that knowledge?
I've read about this. IIRC the point is that if you do skin-to-skin after a C-section, you need a nurse paying extra close attention to you the whole time because you are holding a baby right after major abdominal surgery, and so the charge is for the nurse's time. You can argue that skin-to-skin should be just absorbed into the cost of delivery--I'd agree with you--but there is a nonzero cost to the hospital, they aren't making it up out of whole cloth.
C section costs 400 bucks in Indonesia. Natural birth, 150. Free with optional insurance.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get a lawyer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't forget the lactation consultant!! It's a natural thing. You don't need someone to "teach" your child how to find your nipple to breast feed. Trust me, they'll find it.
Yes, you do. Nursing isn't a universal practice in the US so you don't learn from other women how to do it. In the 70s, I had what some male doctor called "sore nipples" which were deep, painful fissures. My daughter started to get sore nipples and she called a lactation nurse who showed her that the baby was latching on to her breast in the wrong way and taught her how to guide the baby so it wouldn't hurt. I wish we had had that help back when my daughter was born, but we hippy chicks were bringing breastfeeding back from oblivion and No One knew how to do it.
Load More Replies...One sad thing is, they don't update some of your information they need to!! Prior to2017, if I ever had to be in the hospital, like for surgery, I was o. Low sodium 1600 ADA DIET. In 2017, I had Bariatric surgery. Where they cut off part of your stomach, so you lose weight pretty rapidly. I was on a bariatric diet, for my three days in there. Then, afterwards, when I had neck and lower back surgery, six months apart I 2019, I get the first meal, and what do I see?? I have a bariatric diet, modified! No salt, no this no that. They ignore the fact I am type 2 diabetic u dear great control, and ive me carbs all over the place! And to top it off, the meat and veggies are so salty, I couldn't eat them! Say what, you say? Yep, they mixed and picked their own special diet for me, because apparently, no orders were written by the PA or doctor. So,had to speak to 3 nurses and then the PA, to get it changed! And btw, I have lost over 120 pounds. Had the huns bring me protein drinks.
Wtf?! It’s their baby! They already went through hours of labor, and they have to pay almost $40 to HOLD their baby?!
To be fair, this probably involved keeping patient in the OR (so can't be used for next patient) with nurses and other staff on hand, all of which DOES cost money. I hate the system of how it is paid for in America but it is not unreasonable to charge for time.
I would sue them. You guys should sue more. Don't let people use you as their doormat.
The lawyer would cost more than $39.35. It's not cost-effective. And the courts are supporting the businesses these days.
Load More Replies...“In the OR, the birthing person is lying flat, on a very narrow surgical table. Their arms are out to the sides for IV access and a blood pressure cuff,” she said. “There are electrodes on their upper body and a drape protecting a sterile field. The person might be groggy, nauseous, or in pain. They don’t have the same kind of stability or leverage. That makes it harder to hold the baby.”
No your insurance company paid it, also paid the 61.96 for a lactation consult
Many times, the insurance company only pays 80% of the bill, and most of the time they fight about that. The #1 reason for bankruptcy is medical bills in the United States.
Load More Replies...This post was taken from a News story thats EXPLAINS WHY; but people like to just read the title and get indignant The hospital explained in a statement that the $39 charge is due to the need for an extra nurse. “In the case of a C-section, where the bedside caregiver is occupied caring for the mother during surgery, an additional nurse is brought into the OR to allow the infant to remain in the OR suite with the mother. This is to ensure both patients remain safe. There is an additional charge associated with bringing an extra caregiver into the OR. The charge is not for holding the baby, but for the additional caregiver needed to maintain the highest levels of patient safety,” a spokesperson told CBS Salt Lake City affiliate KUTV.
Ok, so this charge is for the nurse's time who had to help the person giving birth do skin-to-skin with baby after the C-section. Because the mother has medication for pain relief and probably hooked up to other monitors, there are lots of wires and tubes to navigate. The nurse is there to help make sure the baby stays safe while the other medical professionals in the room finish the surgery on the mom. That nurse is specifically designated for this task and therefore gets paid for it. I'm not saying this isn't something crazy in the U.S. medical system, I'm just explaining why this person was charged for it.
I've seen this one before, and it had an explanation from an actual labor & delivery nurse. Basically, if the mother wants to hold the baby as while she's still feeling the effects of anesthesia, a nurse has to stand right there and make sure she doesn't drop it. Logically, you'd think that the father/mom's support person could do it, but since the hospital is going to get sued if the baby goes splat!, they require that it be an employee with medical training. And, because it only takes a fraction of a second for the baby to go splat!, you can't just have someone multi-task that job with their other postpartum duties. You need an extra nurse in the room, and that's why there's a fee for it.

You'd be surprised how quickly a kid can make a mess. While babysitting my at the time toddler brother I turned around for what couldn't have been more than 30 seconds to grab a box of milk from the pantry and he managed to cross the kitchen and overturn a massive tub of dog food before I even noticed he'd moved.

You’ve repeatedly found yourself in these situations and still think you’re in a position to judge?
Load More Replies...My former wife and I didn't want children. When friends asked why, we'd answer almost in unison, "Kids f**k up your stuff." There were more reasons, but this answer was easy for others to relate to.
Basically, this is an advert for not having kids, and a good demonstration of why some people need to sit an IQ test before they are allowed to have kids...
My mother told me when I was a baby, I emptied the contents of a big baby formula can inside our 100 gallon salt water aquarium because I thought the fishes open mouths meant they were hungry.
For those of you who comment about not supervising your kids, then stating you are not having any... Thank you for not contributing to the problem.
I've helped raised kids from infants to teens. They weren't mine but I did help raise them. Parenting is hard, but it also takes parents who actually care and PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR KIDS. A lot of what was shown took a long time to accomplish. That means the parents WEREN"T PAYING ATTENTION. You don't need to have given birth to a child to raise one or just take care of one. You need patience, love and you MUST ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION to the little darlings even if you would rather put them in carboard box and ship their spoilt asses back to amazon.

Because it gets them likes and attention on social media. Which is probably what they were doing when some of these little accidents happened.

so, apparently you're supposed to watch them every single second they're awake and people don't. how would you even do that?
Depends on the kids. Some are wise at 5 and others are stupid at 40

How are you leaving young children alone long enough to make most of these messes?!
My kid almost broke my nose with those hard cardboard "starter" books. I had a bad headache & was lying in the couch while he played. He wanted to read, i guess, and came over with it. All i heard was "BOOK!" & opened my eyes to see the spine of it being wailed into the bridge of my nose. First came stars. Then it was blood everywhere! Had to call my mom (an ex nurse) to come check it & watch him while i stopped the bleeding. Not broken but still had a few black eyes for a few days. He was probably like 2 and hes 14 now. We still laugh about it
Good thing I will never have to deal with all of that! Also, condoms are way cheaper than some of the little "accidents"....
Heck, vasectomy, ablasion, and tubal ligation can all be cheaper options in the long run for those who don't want to have children but also don't want to be stuck with uncomfortable condoms or hormone based birth control the rest of their life.

Parents are amazing to me, to put up with all the mess and the screaming and I could never deal with all those things w/o going crazy and livid and this is why I decided never to have kids.
Why are parents more concerned with posting photos of said situations as content on their Twitter or Instagram feeds as opposed to...making sure the kids can't get into anything that might be dangerous for them? Some of these look like your average accidents in the adventures of life and some just make it seem like one or both parents are really bad at paying attention to what their kids are doing I get that little kids get quiet and are speedy little devils at times but it looks more and more like people just have children to have continuous streams of content and attention on social media. Parenting would be easier for them if they'd put the phone down and actually parent. And yes, I have a child of my own who is 16 now. His father let stuff like this happen but I didn't. My kid got messy but I taught him to pick up after himself and that when mommy says don't touch, she means it, all chemicals and sharp objects were kept up higher and out of reach of his hands.
Thank you, every deity in existence, for my being infertile, and due to my chronic health conditions, I'll be sterile soon!
And probably dead as well. That's quite something to be grateful for.

School will be delightful for them, I'm sure. Not having access to the same tech as your peers? They won't be behind, in the slightest.
Load More Replies...I'm a little curious about some of these. My son is a tad unique. And very funny. But I can't imagine the destructive tendencies shown here. I did lots of wierd things, myself (putting tea leaves in the clothes drier to make tea bags... mistaking boullion cubes for caramel candies... learning about baker's chocolate the hard way... forming "rivers" with the garden hose... even Lysol flamethrowers (YIPES!!!)) Can't say I recall my son, myself, my siblings or any of the neighborhood kids being so destructive. (OK, DECADES later, the holes we dug and covered up to make underground forts in the woods caused some problems for tractors trying to develop the area... but that's not exactly the same thing.)
This seems more a 'parents fail at parenting' then anything. Maybe not leave little kids alone?
My children are 15 years apart so I was younger & I guess more alert with the first 2. My youngest was a child you could NEVER take your eyes off of. I was sleeping I woke because my mouth felt sticky & sweet. I sat up trying to figure out why my mouth felt so full. My second shocker was my son sitting beside me wearing a semi toothless little smile. I had no idea how he'd escaped his crib but along with that semi toothless little grin he was pink & shinny his head, Arms, legs and were all shinny. I dectected the scent of some kind of candy. He'd escaped from his crib, made it to his sister's room grabbed a little bag of FLAVORED lip gloss made it back to my room climbed in my bed took a bath in it or ate it or both then fed what was left to me in my sleep. Right now I am grateful he is an adult and just waiting for my brand new granddaughter to avenge me!
This made me laugh so much. Especially the comments. I was down but not anymore. Great thread
Don't hate the children. Hate the parents who allowed them to be little demons and never bothered to correct the bad behavior.

Wait...it's starting to come back to me... Yes, I'm beginning to remember why I don't have kids.
A post celebrating terrible behaviour, and terrible parenting. Wonderful. These are the types of people who let their kid get hurt on a treadmill, then blame the manufacturer.
Thank you, whatever Deity is in charge of these things, for making me infertile!
My parents are always on me about how much I use my heating pad. Ignoring the fact that it's the only thing that alleviates the cramps, they're always yelling about how I'm "cooking my eggs". Little do they know that that would just be a bonus.
Load More Replies...In many of the posts there were very young children being left to their own devices. Where were their parents? Or safety locks? Can't blame them for being children.
