Sometimes it's really hard to understand and experience fine art ideas, so one creative duo decided to make a little bit of fun out of it. Artist Hank Schmidt in der Beek and professional photographer Fabian Schubert have been working on a project, called Und im Sommer tu ich malen (which translates "And in the Summer I do paint") that combines photography and beautiful paintings, and is not only well-executed but hilarious as well.
The idea behind the project is for the duo to visit scenic locations where famous artists like Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, or Paul Cezanne painted their works. However, instead of replicating the beautiful views, Hank paints the pattern of his shirt. Their unique art project combines conceptual and concrete art as well as Plein Air and portrait painting.
Everything began when the two of them met on a mountain hike. "He was with his medium format camera to take some photographs, me with some canvases and an easel to make some paintings," Hank says. The results of their humorous adventures around Europe are an appreciation of the joy of creating art, but an acknowledgment that sometimes works of art are simply pretentious as well.

You may be cool... But never "I travel to multiple beautiful locations only to paint the patterns of my shirts" cool.
Because painting beautiful scenery is time-consuming and expensive, especially while abroad. This way he gets to travel and practice his hobby at the same time.
Okay I dislike hating against someone and I guess this isn't the same thing but really? There's so many homeless people or people/children in poverty and need food and water so they can survive and this man just travels all across the World for thousands of dollars to paint his shirt patterns?! I'm sorry but I just find this f**king stupid.
Some one will buy those canvases, for loads of money no doubt. I think it's pointless though.
The photographs are more of the art to me ... so whoever the photographer is ... is technically the artist while the painter is the mind
