Owner Put A GoPro On His Dog To See What Happens After He Leaves

Youtuber Mike The Intern attached his GoPro camera to his 6 year-old goldendoodle to see what the dog does all day after he leaves.

Sadly, when he watched the video later, his dog neither played with his possessions, nor happily run around the house. What Mike saw instead was heartbreaking: his dog was so sad to see the owner leave that he spent the day running around looking for Mike, howling at the ceiling for hours.

After seeing the footage all Mike could do was hold his doggie and cry, as he confessed on Reddit. Mike also said that he’s never leaving his pooch alone again.

More info: nigelandtheghost

Mike put a GoPro camera on his 6 year-old goldendoodle and left the house

Many expected some sort of dog party, then a frantic cleanup to make it look like nothing happened

However, seconds after Mike leaves, the dog starts to run around in distress, searching for his owner

“After I watched this, we held each other and cried.  I am never leaving him again.”

The owner doesnt say goodby... They should have a ritual to say goodby and to say hellow. This would prepare the dog for the separation.

I think the dog needs a friend. I always have pets in twos. That way, they aren't so lonely.

Stupid not to help the dog to get rid of this nervousness and anxiety. He cannot take the animal with him everywhere he goes.

Walk properly your dog before leaving, use his energy. A dog behaving like that 6 years, shows preety much the incompetency of the owner.

This is terrible. We always talk to our dog about where we are going and that we are coming back. It is definitely a ritual.

This is not fretting badly - I had a rescued Dalmation who ripped up floored and chewed everything - some careful work cured the problem

Not unusual - separation anxiety. I would suggest a companion. Chat to a dog behaviourist. DO NOT make a fuss when leaving or arriving

When our poodle, PJ, was a baby we would put her in the kitchen and shut the doors when we left. She had toys, food and water, her bed some of our clothes. We talked to her and said goodbye and things like that as if we were talking to a human. On one occasion after being gone longer than usual, when we got home we seen where she'd chewed the bottoms of the doors trying to get out. Needless to say we try our best to never leave her alone again. Since we're both retired it's a lot easier for one of us to always be here or we take her with us and one of us will stay in the vehicle while the other one takes care of whatever it was we left home to do.

Dogs don't perceive time, but they are afraid of not being abandoned. If the dog was moved into a new place, might not feel safe there..

It would be nice to never leave your dog alone again. But most people don't work at places that allows pets. Try doggie daycare or walkers.

Feeding your dog marijuana can kill it or make it very sick. It is very toxic to dogs and cats. I'm not kidding, do some research.
