Cute Tiny Owl Goes Viral So We Interviewed The Photographer (10 Pics)
After this super adorable photo of an owl hiding from rain took the internet by storm, we decided to reach out to the photographer Tanja Brandt to tell us more about it.
“Poldi, our little owl is 1,5 years old. I got him when he was five months old. He didn’t want to come out his egg and he was very small, the smallest. His six sisters were all hatched, and as he was the last to be born, days after the others, he was very small. I also have a Harris Hawk named Phönix, a Weissgesichtseule named Gandalf, and a snow owl named Uschi,” Tanja Brandt told Bored Panda.
“I think my animals like to be photographed. Why? Because I am always outside with my camera and with my animals. So we get to walk together, have fun, go on adventures, have little breaks… We take some pictures and after the animals can play again as we keep going. I know my animals very well and I can see their state of mind. If I go out with just one of my animals, the other get antsy and want to be with us. We have lot of fun together.”
“I’ve always loved animals, since I was a baby, unlike the rest of my family. When I was little, I found every sort of pet and then hid it for my parents. I love the beauty, power, loyalty, courage and friendship of animals. Many people could learn from them.”

Share on FacebookI love when animals are caught on "film" if they are doing something they do naturally. Animals are so curious, adventurous, unpredictable, loving etc. They can sense whether or not you are a threat to them. Then there is always a showoff in the crowd. One cannot take it for granted there are no dangerous animals out there, because there are. And you are wise to know wich ones are trustworthy, and which ones are not.
Wonderful photos and the greatest beauty and power lies in the relationship she clearly has being a peer, not a superior, to animals. Worth repeating: "Many people could learn from them."
Of course she is superior. She's the one taking the beautiful photos of them.

Bless You ! You are exactly what your little friends need, a loving mother and loyal friend. Thank you so much for loving and caring for them. You are a real life inspiration.
I wonder if he has had his wings clipped so he doesn't fly away?
I saw a photo of the German Shepard with a Harris Hawk posted by a friend on Facebook today and thought it was Photoshopped. But finding her sig on a larger version of the same photo I found her website and saw all the wonderful photos of the dog with the precious little owl but no Harris Hawk. But then I saw this article and see she DOES have a Harris so the photo was obviously real! Her photos are so wonderful and fun... I just LOVE them! :o)
Hello Boredpanda, please will stop posting wild animals as pets! After the sale of Arms, drugs, wild animals are sold by a wordwide Mafias. Please stop posting such awful pictures of made by these heartless people. Thank very much.
Cute, adorable, what else? Owls are wild animals , they fly be free and hunt for themselves. How stupid and cruel to have them as "Pets"! Why all you who "think" it's cute, adorable to have wild animals as pets, don't realise the unhappiness of other ceatures other then yourself. Try to put yourself in the same conditions as all of these poor beast. Would like to used as a toy or an IT object?? Think about it, just once, OK?
Absolute crass commercial exploitation of the worst kind, disguised as heart tugging art with animals. The photographer should be ashamed! Get a life and find something worthwhile to do with the rest of life!
Monsieur, I agree totally with you. Animals are not objects or "IT" statuts symbols.

No it is not! The poor thing is not living the life it should. It has been taken to be toy for a self centered idiot, who doesn't respect other species.

Very appealing! I usually don't approve of wild animals as pets, but since she actually hatched them herself, they aren't "wild" anymore.......she has a beautiful way with her camera! I really enjoyed the stories in her photographs!
