After the popularity of Overheard L.A. and then Overheard New York, it seems that we have all become nosy little eavesdroppers. While listening in on strangers conversations should still be considered rude and intrusive, sometimes you can't help but pick up a juicy snippet of gossip, completely out of context, that is just comedy gold.

People are taking to Twitter in their thousands to document these random overheard conversations, and while this may suck in terms of our privacy when out among strangers, its certainly good for a laugh on the internet!

Scroll down below to check out some of the best, compiled in a list by Bored Panda. Scroll down below to check them out for yourself, and don't forget to vote for your favorites!

I do this with my daughter. I'm always closest to the street and on those rare occasions when she comes in my room in the middle of the night to get in my bed, I always sleep closest to the door just in case I gotta pull out my Kimber Solo and whoop some intruders a*s. Hahahahaha.

I dated a guy who followed all the chivalry rules - slept on the side of the door closest to the door (I had never even heard of that one), walked on the street side of the sidewalk, walked up stairs after me and down stairs in front of me.

My mom still tries to do this to me. lol. I remind her that I'm younger and have a better shot at recovering from injuries (assuming I don't get killed). Parents spend their lives protecting us, and it's nice to try to return the favor sometimes.

Actually, he is a little guy but his manners are very caring and true. In the old days, I do believe the men always walked on the side of the street to protect the women from the trash being thrown from the windows or the splatter from the streets. A very fine young gent., indeed! :)

They threw the chamber pots contents, out of the window, and it was to keep women safe from getting splashed with s**t, literally!!

My boys and I have this conversation. They've learned their Dad stands on the outside. I've always stood on the outside when with them - I'm their Mama. But now they're 10 and 15 and my instinct is still to be outside, and theirs is to be outside. At what point do you let that go?

No. Whoever is physically stronger should be the protector. Gender doesn't matter in that case. My husband isn't as clumsy as me so he protects me on the stairs, but I have combat experience so I guard the door. If I married a woman who was smaller than me I'd want to protect her, but if she was bigger I'd appreciate it if she were more protective. She wouldn't have to be protective though, it's just a bonus when your spouse compliments you where you need or want them to.

It courteous not ignorant. I always walk on the road side when I'm with my wife, and trust me she is in no way fragile (I would not want to go a round with her and I'm a pretty big guy with 100lbs on her). I was taught it was proper and always figured its a way of showing I'd rather be the one closer to harms way than her.

I disagree .Why teach the kid that men should be doing specific things and not everyone ? Men are humans too and they need to be protected from the road just as much as women do ? Small situations like this form the basis of biased thinking on gender in people...I know I am going to get down votes, but I had to tell what I felt.

It's a conundrum. Of course human beings should protect one another according to ability, not plumbing. It does seem the little boy is conforming to an old-fashioned practice by which the proper role of men is to shield, protect, and defend the weak. The trick, as always, is to find balance. Looks to me like the child has absorbed the message that he is supposed to take care of his mother, and that's good. The next step is to work on developing judgement about how and when to deploy what kind of power. But fundamentally, I think he's off to a good start. He's learning that real men use their power to serve others. Compare to people like Harvey Weinstein, Al Frankenstein, or Matt Lauer who appear to use their power to take and to harm. Just needs some fine-tuning.

:( I don't care if this comment gets down voted, I cannot keep this inside: This is an awful thing to say to any child of any age. We don't own anyone, not even our kids. They are PEOPLE, with their own bodies, their own brains, their own feelings and opinions and no one owns them. not their parents, no one. they are not belongings or things or slaves.

If I close the door, my dog paws at it until I open up. We've taught her to do this on our door if she wants in or out as we don't live alone. Although when I leave for work in the morning and she does it to the front door it pulls at my heart.

Commonly referred to as a "French bath". My hubs works swing, so he showers at night. I work from home 4 days a week, so I usually don't shower until later in the day unless I'm going somewhere. One of the very few perks of adulting in this day & age - I get to decide when (and IF) I take a shower. Yee haw! I'm living the dream, baby.

This makes sense. Think about it. 90% + of the time you are using wipes, its because you are dealing with something icky/dirty. So cleaning it off makes sense. Just like you need to clean your sink fixtures.
