I hate having to park, battle crowds, hope what I want is in stock and then wait in line to buy it. Generally, if Amazon doesn't have it, I don't need it. I have Amazon Prime to get free shipping and I get a delivery almost every day.

You should get one even if it's only for getting gas. It helps establish a credit score. My card gives me cash back on my purchases and I haven't paid interest on it ever and I've had it since '04. They've given me about 2 grand cash back and they've gotten nothing from me. Make your card work for you.

UNBELIEVABLE!! I learned the hard way how dangerous they are, but paid them off and now only have ONE that I pay off every month. BAD NEWS and the companies know it.

From my understanding, you can't rent a car or hotel room without one unless you have that amount of money in your checking account to cover it on your debit card so kudos for you if that's the case. Smart cookie but agree that it does bite you in the butt when you do try and buy a home; a credit score is what they are looking for.

They have credit cards that pay you to use them. Just pay off the balance at the end of the month and you'll be making money off them. My cc company has paid me about $1,200 so far and they've gotten nothing in interest from me. If you have self control in your spending, it doesn't make sense not to have one.

In a lot of countries that is normal. It took me years to understand what strange fetish people from north america have with credit cards. I got my first with 24 because of trips to countries where there are more useful.

Good one.. I am just using debit card too.. It is silly that we not pay in cash something that we can afford.. And even worst buy anything that we cannot afford with a way which will add us some interest..

probably for the best for now, but eventually, you will need to establish credit, depending on the decisions you make, it can be a tough learning experience (with paying your bill back, interest and all)

I had a credit card/s all throughout my twenties. Never had too much debt, but usually had some (and when you're a student and can barely afford food, any amount of debt is too much, really)...proud to say, I've gotten ridden of all of them and plan to stay that way. Felt great cutting up that last s****y bit of plastic!

The people that don't own credit cards tend to be the ones with the discipline to use it properly. I got one at 18 specifically to build credit. I use it for its convenience and pay it off each month. By the time I got a mortgage I had a credit score of close to 800.

Not a difficult task. Interestingly, I changed three tires in my life, despite never owning a car. Turns out there are a lot of people out there that have cars but don't know how to do it and are completely helpless as a result. I only knew how because I had watched my grandpa do it as a kid once.
