Lone Orangutan Fights Back In A Heartbreaking Video As Loggers Destroy His Home
More than 2,5 million acres of Indonesian rainforest are lost every year. This senseless deforestation leaves many wild animals without a home. Animals, such as orangutans, suffer from logging the most. Their population has more than halved in the past 16 years. Non-profit organization International Animal Rescue are working very hard to save their plummeting community and other animals’ habitats.
On Words Environment Day this non-profit organization shared a shocking video showing a helpless orangutan who tried to fight against the powerful digger which has already claimed his home. The video was captured in 2013, but it was recently released to raise awareness about the harm of logging forest trees to the orangutan habitat. The animals aren’t the only ones suffering from deforestation as it also affects climate change and is one of the global warming causes.
The video went viral with more than 10,000 shares and around 1mln views. International Animal Rescue teams encouraged the viewers to ‘plant a tree’ by donating.
Watch the heartbreaking video below and join the conversation about the impact of deforestation in the comments.

Share on FacebookI just came here to upvote, I could not bear to watch the video, or look at the pictures any longer. It is heart breaking and aggravating what we do to our planet. I'm doing all what I can to protect the environment, related to this post, stopped buying anything with palm oil in it. But we all have to make changes, however small they seem, before it gets too late.
We have started buying stuff without palm oil. The problem is that they use different names on the labels, and i cannot detect them on the cosmetics for example. Its really disappointing what we have done and do to the planet.
Load More Replies...We are the most damaging, parasitic species on the planet. Enough said.
Well that hurt. Humans are so blind sometimes. We try to take over everything.
My heart is literally hurting,Humans are this precious earths predators, and they will pay dearly, these beautiful, noble creatures deserve love, care and respect!!
I hate mankind. It's no wonder suicide rates are up...so many of us can't bear to watch these kinds of things any longer.
L'essere umano fa schifo. .distribuzione della natura per nulla ... noi tutti esseri umani siamo in affitto in questo mondo stupendo. Ma lo uccidiamo per pochi soldi. Mi vergogno di appartenete alla razza umana
A semi-corrected google translate: Human beings suck. Distrubution of nature for nothing... (Something I cant translate) But we kill him for money. I am ashamed of belonging to the human race.
Load More Replies...This made me cry for 2 days when I watched the documentary- just devastating.
This is just one example of loss for many animals, BUT MONEY TALKS !!!
I read this and looked at pics. Didnt watch video. This brought tears to my eyes.
The people that are in power are just paid off to look the other way. These people dont make much money. So, if they get the opportunity to make quick cash to take care of their family, they take it!! It is horrendous what is going on there! And, unfortunately, orangs are just the tip of the iceberg!
A wake up call!!! To the people that cant believe that the workers didnt make sure the orangutan was safe...This is BORNEO! There are NO LAWS protecting ANY of the animals! First of all, when the citizens know they are going to be clearing forest, they show up to grab what they can to sell on the black market! If there is a mother orang with a baby, they shoot her and grab the baby to sell. They make a lot of money from it! Secondly, the people that live in these communities see the orangs as PESTS!! I have seen too many videos where an orang was driven from its forest home, and went into a village out of sheer desperation. They are usually weak from starvation. The villagers HATE the orangs! I have seen them actually torture them!!! Most there have enough trouble keeping themselves and their kids fed. They do NOT value animal lives as most civilized countries do! Additionally, it is posted ALL OVER in the forests that there is to be no deforestation!! But it happens ALL of the time!!!
Cheap palm oil f***s it up for EVERY species living in the poorest parts of the world.
Most of you people are soft in the head. "humans are cancer", "I can't take it anymore", "humans are parasites", blah, blah, f*****g blah. Feel free to remove yourself from the herd then. Humans are the TOP of the food chain. Evolution picked the winner. Apes had their chance, but they chose muscle strength over intelligence. At the beginning of the human species, there were many creatures that preyed on the humans. Do you think ANY of those creatures thought "whoa there, lets not hurt the poor defenseless humans" - of course not - it's eat or be eaten.
If we're soft in the head...feel free to remove yourself then and go on in life since you're so much more evolved and "with it" than the rest of us 🤗
