Life might be a mystery, but the universe still works in such a way that we can more or less imagine the consequences of our actions. However, we know from personal experience that the universe also has a weird sense of irony and likes to throw us curveballs once in a while.

Reddit user Niceboihappy, one of the moderators at r/sadcringe, told Bored Panda that the community has seen an increase in members since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. However, the mod also pointed out that the subreddit is always growing in size. And the more members there are, the stronger the community becomes.
Niceboihappy also shared some advice about what to do if you receive bad news or an unexpected response. "I would say be confident, but not too confident. And, especially, for an unexpected response it is probably best to just own it and make light of it."
The Sad Cringe subreddit is practically ancient. It was created back in 2013 and now boasts over 882k members (that’s way more than I could count to). So what does this community of nearly-a-million do, exactly? Well, it’s dedicated to collecting examples of the most embarrassing and awkward situations that also make you feel sad inside.

In other words, content that’s just cringeworthy isn’t worth a spot on r/sadcringe if it’s missing the ‘sad’ part. The community guidelines indicate that “pathetic loser sad” content doesn’t work and that the responses have to be “unhappy/depressing sad.”
“The content should make you go: ’oof, that hurts,’ not: ‘lol, what a moron,’” the moderators point out. They also stress that they’re not here to make fun of people. Which is why they ask everyone to avoid bullying and harassment. “Be nice,” they add.
There will always be times when we’re caught completely off-guard by bits of news or responses from people. However, there are ways to bounce back and make the best of a bad situation.

LinkedIn Learning Instructor Tatiana Kolovou states that when we’re faced with bad news, we tend to react emotionally. So what you want to do is allow that initial emotional reaction to pass by giving yourself some time to process things.
“Calm yourself. Take a deep breath. Possibly look away momentarily to try and focus your thoughts. Exhale deeply. All these behaviors will help you bring your elevated heart rate down and physically center you,” Kolovou explains how to get yourself under control again. Keep that in mind the next time life throws a curveball at you and you might just hit a home run.

Men really need to get over this idea of "friendzoning". Not every woman on this planet exists to go out with them and refuses to indulge their entitlement when they don't consider them more than friends. Interestingly enough you never see women complain that a man "friendzoned" them.

There is no friend "zone". They are friends. It's irrelevant that he would like more if she doesn't also want more. If he is ONLY being her friend in the hopes of it turning into more, he is not her true friend. Just because a man wants something doesn't mean he deserves it.
Husband was my best friend. He told me he had feelings I said not a great idea. He understood and asked for a few days of no contact to get his feelings in check. Respect no guilt and I missed him like crazy after 2 days.
I've never understood this idea that its "so bad" to be in the "friends zone". If you really actually like the other person, then wouldn't you at least be happy they want to be friends with you? Wouldn't you rather be friends with them than not have them in your life at all? Why can't friendships be valued as much as romantic relationships? Etc

You shouldn't do romantic-seeming things with someone you know is romantically interested in you when you don't return those feelings. My parents had divorced around 2005, and my father never stopped loving my mom... Except he was often absently abusive and, sometimes, just plain absent. Nevermind the drugs that were a deal-breaker for my mom. One day a year or so ago, he went through something heartbreaking and my mom gave him a comforting friend-hug. He told her she was confusing him because she said she didn't want to get back together but she was hugging him... She never hugged him again.

Once I made Twitter account with my thoughts and drawings. I had around 50 followers but also a feeling no one gives a c**p about my tweets. So I made a tweet that I will give 10000$ to anyone who likes that tweet. 6 months later and still zero likes, someone wrote a reply "Sorry bro". Deleted twitter account.
One time not really a happy memory but kinda of related in a way. I had a friend at like 9 and her like 8. we didn't get racism yet so that's why we were friends. Well four weeks later she had some other friends our age over asked us to play hid and seek. I was like yay I love that game. They chose me to be it and count. I thought I hate doing it but sure okay. Then those bitches started throwing rocks at my back. They literally forgot by highschool and asked me to be their friend for whatever reason. I glared and said no. Like they may have forgotten but when you do that to a kid the kid you throw s**t at doesn't forget.
All I could think of for some of these was "Press 'F' to pay respects."
You Know what? Number of times I got the friend-zone? A Few!, Ok maybe more than that. Flat out ignored or shut down? Plenty. Number of times I missed the signal for a hook-up? Don't get me started! All of it learned in the real world, outside of social media and online chatting. My Wife has recently started training me on noticing when women make a pass at me. I am usually befuddled. "Did she just...?" "Yes yes, she checked you out, moving on".. And then i get that silly Chris Pratt look on my face...
