40 Times People Ordered Things Online But Received Something So Awful, They Just Had To Share (New Pics)
420Kviews
Shopping online is fun, easy, and thus, kinda addictive. Being one click away from the miscellaneous sea of goodies is surely a pleasant feeling, but look, we’re not kids anymore.
How many times have you told yourself to read the descriptions, to never underestimate the inkling of doubt if the items look too good to be true, and think before adding something to the basket? Because let’s be honest, that cool prom dress for $5 made you look like a herring under a fur coat and thank god, you got rid of that cursed pic ‘cause you wouldn’t make it through seeing it again.
But who wouldn’t like to learn from the mistakes of others? Bored Panda has compiled a list of hilarious online bargain fails, proving that sometimes we’re all better off in the mall. With loud music and way too bright lights that sizzle your eyes, we at least know what we sign up for. If this post wasn’t enough of a reality check, check out our previous posts on people who deeply regret their online purchases here, here, and here.

Be Sure To Always Check The Size When Ordering Treats
We’ve all been there. Okay, I have. I promised myself not to step on the same rake twice but boy, those online deals just got me big time. But it doesn’t mean feeling disappointed after opening up your freshly delivered package is fine. And there are things to be done about it.
First, whatever you buy, always check the return policy on every website. Be sure you will be able to return the item if you’re not happy with it and unfortunately, not all online shops allow it.
The other tip is simply to buy from trustable websites. Make sure it has previous reviews, a nice customer service team, and contact numbers to talk to in case something goes against the plan.

Buy cheap, get cheap.
not always, but yes 95% of the time
"You get what you pay for" and "if it seems too good to be true it probably is" would also apply in many of these cases.
Protip for buying from potentially crappy sites - image search their product photo and find out if it's from somewhere else. The answer is usually "Yes, it is stolen".
What a fantastic idea! Thanks for sharing!
And if you can’t find anything via image search, don’t automatically assume it must be real. Go back to the product photo and see if it’s at a weird angle or doesn’t show the whole design. Most likely been cropped as much as they could do stop it appearing as a match
I only buy from trusted sellers if within online shopping apps. In our country, we have an app that only people who bought from the online store can give comment/feedback. They will also give you a coin/points if you give ratings, feedback and post a photo of the product you received. So I usually check the photos if they will send you the real deal. If the rating has bad review or 1-2 stars only, it is a red flag for me. Good thing, most customers give feedback and share photos which help other buyers in selecting which item/stores are legit.
Crap...sorry, I also posted this tip, after you did. Didn't see yours but ^^ smart person, listen to their tip!! You're like me probably, I research the cr@p outta things before I buy and I have a long list of reputable sites I've purchased from, so I always check them for an item 1st. Of course, you're not gonna catch all the scammers, but I've been buying online since 98 and I haven't been hit yet!
Exactly, you can right click on a picture to search it's origins
I always read the reviews before I buy something online. Also the only clothes I ever order online are fundraiser tshirts I buy from animal sanctuaries I love and respect or causes I support. I'm rocking a brand new tshirt from the wild mustang sanctuary Skydog right now. I figure I need to be clothed and the animals need to eat. Might as well solve two problems at once right?
Just because there is a positive review does NOT mean that it was actually reviewed by someone who purchased the product. Read the "negative" reviews. ANYTHING you buy that is made in China will always NOT fit and will NEVER look like what you purchased. You will always get nothing but garbage. The best thing that you can say about anything you buy that is made in China is: "it ain't broke." I don't buy it if it is made in China. Japan is good, Taiwan is good, US is great, Germany is great, India is maybe, but not and Australia is good.
Clothes bought in china will fit... if you remember that international sizes are not actually international. I live in Europe, and I quickly realised that if I wanted to buy something in international size from china, I had to add two sizes to it. So, if you're an XL in Europe, you need to order 3XL. If you're 3XL, you need to order 5XL. If you're an S, buy L. Not sure how this translates to sizes in the USA, since when I bought from there stuff was too big. I ordered a 3XL, got what here in Europe would be a 5 or 6XL. A shirt so large that even on my overweight body it looked like a dress. TL,DR: Don't trust international sizes. Always buy with inches/cm.
That’s awesome. You have a good heart :)
