I Create Silly Comics About Depression Chicken That Are Like Therapy For Me (30 New Pics)
Hey, my name is Adam, I'm 35 and I'm a Polish social media manager in Berlin. I've been drawing funny comics for a couple of years now, which helped me deal with my depression.
My protagonist is my alter ego, Depression Chicken. Chicken is a fluffy, yellow creature who often has a bad day and feels misunderstood by society. He is single and trying to work on his self-confidence. He is accompanied by Birdfish, his best friend, who often has good advice for him, and by the cute Axolotl, with whom he can have a lot of fun.

She Cares A Lot
I think my favorite comic is one where the Chicken introduces himself as "a dark soul in a fluffy yellow body". I think this comic sums up me as a creator and the Chicken himself well. This comic isn't in the post, but you can click here to view it in one of my previous posts.

I wouldn't date myself either, but I do remember Sonny and Cher's TV program.
The artistic process behind the creation of my comics has helped me a lot in dealing with my depression. When I addressed my problems in this form, I was able to get to know myself better and accept myself better. But what impressed me the most was the feedback from the community. Many people who follow me on Instagram received my comics with great gratitude and could relate to them. This gave me the feeling that I am not alone with my problems.

I generally find the feedback from my community super. Most of my comics are based on very short dialogues with sharp punchlines and seem to be received by my community exactly as I intended. Apparently, there are many other Chickens in this world who understand my thoughts well and deal with similar issues.
Just In Case You Need It Today
So far, I only publish my comics on the internet on my profiles on Instagram and TikTok. My big dream is to write a book - a mix of a novel and a comic in which I write about my depression. It would be more personal than my Instagram content, but the Chicken would certainly not be missing there.
