As a gay man, I find this a disappointing answer. I can't believe that in a conservative country like the USA, he hasn't faced any prejudice whatsoever in his career. I don't get the victimhood thing from Rippon. Also, I don't think that any politically-fueled, snarky remark wins anyone over, to any side. What you get is a divide, and that has not worked for anyone shouting a stupid mantra... so, go MAGA yourself (or Yes, We Can, or Today For A Better Tomorrow, or other nonsense). I don't think Rippon is all that great, save for a few points... he certainly doesn't speak for me, but that's idealistic youth for ya. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to become a poster-boy for gay folk. That wouldn't be bad (!), he is easy on the eyes, and he can be the role model for many who think they are alone or unworthy just because they like men. I'd then wish for compassion to gay-unfriendly cavemen, but... you can't have it all, right?
