A.I. Shows What Old Hollywood Celebrities Would Look Like If They Were ‘Modernized’ (20 Pics)
Hollywood is known for having the best, most talented, and beautiful actors and actresses. Most of us probably know great actresses from old Hollywood. Like the beautiful and talented Audrey Hepburn, or the icon of beauty—Marilyn Monroe. But how would they and 18 more women look if they lived in today's times?
I decided to use A.I. and many other applications to colorize and modernize these photos. It's interesting to see what famous actresses would look like in the 21st century. Of course, A.I. is not perfect yet, so some photos are kinda wonky and some even change the faces completely. Tell us what you think in the comments and upvote your favorite remake!

They should have given her back her natural hair color. The studio made her get her hairline raised and lighten her hair. Rita also used her mother's maiden name because her birth name of Cansino sounded too Spanish.

On the update, the sharper cut in on the lower right cheek ruined her original beauty. Her fuller and more natural cheeks have her the look that fit her and her character. But I may be wrong.

It's funny because all the left pictures have been heavily retouched themselves. Carole Lombard had a not insignificant scar on her left cheek (if you watch My Man Godfrey, and you should, it's most noticeable in her side profile when sitting at the dump). She had another one near her left eye and one more by her mouth. Nearly every released picture of her had this airbrushed out; it was airbrushed in most movies, where possible, such as in strong front shots or when they couldn't use trick lighting to hide it.

Of course. They all look different because of the technique that makeup artists use in the 21st Century. They are all beautiful women but the makeup gave them a 21st Century look.

Yeah, sorry, her eyes were always "bedroom" eyes, half lidded. and her lips looked like she expected to be hit, and would take it and spit it back. lost it somehow.
That's a crime! Lauren Bacall was one of the most charismatic and most beautiful women ever. The new picture reduces her to an average pretty babe. Awful!

I agree. Enlarging lips and more hair plus more eye makeup do not result in modernizing a particular person. Perhaps I interpreted the artist's intent wrongly. I believe I thought the effort was to show how they would look today. The title could have been 'How I Would Alter Old-Time Movie Stars'. Still a fun and skillful presentation.

These women were just fine the way they looked. Why use AI? Can't we just colorize the photos and not have a program change their features and make completely new women out of them? I'm not mad at you, just the whole notion of women adapting to beauty standards set by society, even posthumously.
I found it fascinating how many of became almost identical to some of today's stars.

Fail. She isn't Audrey Hepburn anymore. You have changed her natural beauty into the airbrushed, photoshopped fake version popular today -- which nobody likes. Creating a template or definition of attractive is harmful. Instead of seeing individually and imperfections as beautiful, "attractive" is narrowly defined. I couldn't look at the rest.

OK, every single picture change ruined the unique beauty of these women. The originals were fabulous, the "updated" ones generic.
You can't even tell who some them are in the 'after' pictures. Sorry, Hidreley, but you went too far. Should have modernized their hair and clothes, but not their faces.
Regardless whether or not you hate what the AI did, this was just for fun. I think the sheer amount backlash in the comments is unnecessary. It was just to make the older celebrities look more modern. Even though I agree with many of these comments on their individuality, remember that these women wore makeup back then anyway. This was just to see how they would look modern. Now I'm going back to my cup of tea and forget about the hatred of the AI in the comments. Either way, it's just an opinion. I wish no hate on anyone for an opinion.

Most of the new pictures are awful. Not more than pretty, but empty faces. The AI almost always makes the eyes bigger (and blue), the lips fuller (as if the AI likes botox), and erases everything that made these women special. The biggest crimes are the new pictures of Lauren Bacall, Marlene Dietrich, Audrey Hepburn, and Katherine Hepburn.
