Best Buy Flyer From 1994 Shows The Hottest Technology From Days Gone By, And It’s Hilarious Now
With all of the advanced technology on the market these days, including the newly-released iPhone X, it's easy to lose sight of where it all began. A Best Buy flyer from 1994 has surfaced online, and when you see the cutting-edge stuff they were selling, you're either going to feel extremely old or wonder what the hell you're looking at.
From Packard Bell multimedia computer systems, to VHS camcorders, to Sony Walkmans, all the legends are here, and more. Remember your first cordless Motorola phone? How about the Super Nintendo you used to play with your friends after school? Don't forget the 'Lion King' soundtrack CD you used to blast from your compact stereo. It was truly a simpler time, one that existed in those magical years before we started meeting on Tinder, GPS-tracking each other on Snapchat, and uploading it all on Instagram. None of this rings a bell? Go ask your older sister, or just go back to texting.
Relive the glory days of commercial technology, and dive into the flashback of a flyer yourself below. Just don't say we didn't warn you about the major feels you may experience.

In 1994, I would have rolled my eyes at the thought of needing a cellular phone. ...she types into her smart phone as she's laying in bed.
'Only rich, snobby people need those - ultimate disdain'
Load More Replies...It is called the "Meteor" because you could throw it at someone and kill them.
.6 watts of power! Everyone knows that the important factor when buying a phone is it's wattage.
Before there was a cell tower every 8 feet, it mattered.
Load More Replies...The Meteor was actually a piece of garbage, a seriously cheap version of the standard brick phone.
Nothing will EVER beat the days when we "joined the club" and got 12 CD's (or LP's) for a PENNY! lol th-5a217c8c20e32.jpg
I LOVED my Walkman. It was black and red. Obviously I carried with it eeeeeverywhere.
Anyone else notice that the price of a vacuum and microwave is pretty much the same nowadays? I mean, the micro would be better technology today (maybe?) lol
We might be saying the same thing in 10 years about the Apple iPhone 8 or Samsung Galaxy S8
I can imagine telling my future kids about them. Me: *finds iphone x in thrift store* "kids, this here was what we had I was a teenager, it was pretty back then" Kids:* just look with disgust at this "ancient technology"*
Load More Replies...Just asked my kid to describe the cassette Walkman with headphones on the ad she said looks like a headphone. I asked what’s in the middle of the headphones, and she said a charger for the headphones. I cracked up.
Load More Replies...To be honest the price hasn't changed that much for comparable products today
Why is it hilarious? Where do you think your iPhone would be now without these things?

Load More Replies...This could only amuse a 14 year old. I still have a lot of those things lying around somewhere. Hilarious it ain't.
Back When I was a kid, we had to walk across the room, 8, 10, even 12 feet to change channels...none of this fancy "remote" stuff. AND...we had to do it through shag carpet...SHAG I TELL YOU!!
If someone gave me a new Walkman for Christmas right now, I would still be super excited!
Wow you can buy a note 8 and iPhones x for less then the computer and both phones have way better specs.
Of course both of your current day phones have better specs than a top of the line computer from 24 years ago. They're cheaper to obtain now because of the history you're looking at in these ads. You should have seen how much this stuff cost in the 80s! Apple has been around since '76, ripoff prices is an identity that Apple has embraced since the early days. Check out their prices in the late 70s throughout the 90s. Their target demographic must have been drug dealers, rich artists and Wall Street Yuppies. Almost nothing looks expensive to me today because I grew up in that time frame. I remember buying ram at $50 per megabyte and that was a good deal back then.
Load More Replies...I explained to my 14 y/o about trying to time the Top 40 on the radio just right so we could record our music on cassette without the DJ talking over it. She looked at me like I was making it up.
It used to annoy the hell out of me the way Top 40 DJs just could not keep their mouths shut. DJs on jazz and classical stations never talked over the music the way the morons on Top 40 radio did.
Load More Replies...The only thing that would compare to this is if somehow someone found a Tower Records flyer
