Sometimes work can be really hectic and frustrating and as grownups, we are expected to be cool about it and keep the whining to ourselves. I work in advertising and my workday is often very chaotic and unpredictable. While trying not to let the stress get the best of me, I decided to turn the mundane and often annoying little moments in my agency life into inspirations for something whimsical and magical.
With my iPhone, a reading lamp, and miniature figures, I recreate the imaginary scenes of my honest thoughts in work situations right on my work desk. Pairing each photo with corresponding caption, I post them on my Instagram and Tumblr feeds as a way to document my eventful career. You can also find my previous post on Bored Panda here. Whether it’s burning the midnight oil, early morning client call, or on the road traveling for business, my tiny people are always there making sure I don’t hide my feelings.
I am inspired by how there is always a positive light in seeing almost everything. Combined with my passion for detail, imagination, and humor, my delightful little pick-me-ups have resonated with many people on the internet and I am pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed by the support and encouragement I receive.

It is impossible to get our coworkers’ attention when they wear headphones
Monday comes too soon when we worked the whole weekend
We think permanent markers should be banned from meeting rooms with white boards
A day trip to see a client is practically a night trip when you have to get up at 4am
It’s nice to know that our coworkers have our back
No matter how much we rehearse, we still get nervous before a big presentation
Sometimes we just want to toss everything and not care about it
We are up in the air before the sun comes up
Can’t believe we still have to come to work when it’s this cold
Sometimes it takes a lot for ideas to be noticed
It is extremely difficult to get a cab in New York City
Sometimes it pays to recycle good ideas
It’s great when people accept our meeting invites; even better when they actually show up
We are not ready to wrestle with Monday yet
When the client says, “we’ll call you right back” we are stranded at our desks
Nail salon… Who has time for that?

Awesome! It must cost a pretty penny to assemble and paint the figures (if he does it by hand, that is)

"Combined with my passion for detail, imagination, and humor, my delightful little pick-me-ups have resonated with many people on the internet and I am pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed by the support and encouragement I receive." The author has notably left off "humility" whilst patting himself on the back. Seems he has also neglected that this kind of miniature work has been done for years before him (and much better too) by artist like Slinkachu, Liliana Porter, Christopher Boffoli, Walter Martin & Paloma Munoz, Audrey Heller and many, many more.
