Scrolling through the images, it's hard to imagine someone greenlighting these ideas. David Pereira, the Head of Product Management at Virtual Identity, thinks it often happens when development gets too 'dry.'
"Products are built for people. Yet, many people lead product innovation through numbers, which means people become numbers [and] behaviors become data points," Pereira wrote. Awesome! Just put this in my Amazon cart for my brother's bday this month! Not only does he SHRED the electric guitar (OUR SF GIANTS invited HIM to play the National Anthem on Father's Day 2014, You Tube Daniel Burns National Anthem!) During the 40 years I lived in San Francisco, I always looked for older apartments in marginal neighborhoods—better rent, clawfoot tubs (mandatory), and often some amazing built-in things. My last place not only the widest clawfoot tub I’ve ever encountered, the landlord had installed a key hook panel below the cubby that had the phone used to screen your visitors without having to leave your apartment.
I really like this...I think I'm gonna try to make something similar.

Pereira is a big fan of prototyping. "I prefer accepting that [I] don't know enough; at best, [I] have a set of assumptions, which need validation as fast as possible. That's my approach for [all] ideas."
In his opinion, the Lean Startup method created by American entrepreneur Eric Ries is an excellent way of building products that solve real problems.
