Mark Smallman Deep Fryers are very challenging to clean, especially if the restaurant is open 24/7 and you can't close the kitchen to do the cleaning. I have worked at a restaurant where I had to clean the deep fryer and that was awful. I was not able to get it clean like in this picture so I would be interested to know what 'magic trick' the person used to make the fryer look like new.
Load More Replies...Did you hear about how complicated those machines are to clean? I can't remember where I heard it ( probably NPR) but it takes about 3 hours to clean them, and if you miss a step you have to start over again. I don't eat fast food but I found this to be such a good example of bad design that I kept that info
Load More Replies...I use to do this at a little quick shop I worked at, scrubbed the grill until it shined, broke down the drink machines (which NO ONE DOES) and soaked the little pieces in diluted bleach mixture, etc. You would not believe how nasty a fountain drink machine is if its not broken down regularly. I loved keeping that place clean!
While I totally understand, there's truth to what is said about them making potatoes taste better. There are certain things that should not be washed but "seasoned". This is done with tea pots, cast iron, and there are very famous restaurants that have literally reused the same frypans/fryers, smokers, and even grease for decades. It's a little like aging whiskey in smoked barrels, then using the barrels over and over. The would becomes seasoned and imparts flavors.
Load More Replies...A High Powered Steam Machine not the kind you use at home use it on fryers grills range tops hoods vents and their filters ovens sinks and faucets drains floors dishwasher area ice soda milk coffee and shake machines counters stools booths tables and bathrooms use it every where and on top of a super clean anything you use it on will be mold germ and bug free just remember it must be High Powered Steam Machine it will melt the tough greasy dirty c**p off fairly easy and fast
One place where they do not wash the walls is SF - real sourdough bread benefits from the deposits left on the walls from the salt air. You can't duplicate it; and the sourdough bread sold elsewhere is not the same.
Now I know why some McDonalds have that certain something in the way their fries taste.
I MUST KNOW how you did this, what products did you use?? I have been trying to clean my sinks and faucets, and I always end up with white spots, especially on the faucet in the kitchen sink. I REALLY NEED TO KNOW what you used.
What did you use? I would love my fryers to look that new and shiny!

Using a power washer is nasty work. A lot of that grime gets all over YOU. While you get soaked.

The thought did occur to me, but I'd worry more about sprinklers watering huge lawns all summer.
