My Three-Dimensional Embroideries Inspired By Oceanic And Botanical Forms

My name is Helen Wilde (Ovo Bloom) and I am a fiber artist based within the UK. I interpret oceanic & botanical landscapes into three-dimensional hoop & canvas embroideries. The current collection predominately features sculptural embroideries using plant-dyed yarns, porcelain & silk on organza and handwoven fabrics.

I remember my Mom doing this, I miss those quiet times she would be sitting doing this, and I miss her. I wish so badly classes for these types of crafts were more readily taught, so many would take them. And beautiful work.

These are absolutely stunning!! Any chances to choose the themes in a specific language? "Veraḷa tīraya" and "Vana" is Sinhalese/ Sri Lankan 😊 If I'm not mistaken, "Bawa" or "Bhawa" (existence) is also Sinhalese..

Awesome work! Have you considered embroidering different bacteria inspired motives? Specifically bacteria grown in petri dishes? I think that could be really neat =3

These are so precious! I particularly love that the choice of "base fabric" (sorry, I don't know how to call it in English) is different than the classic one I've seen so far. On tulle, organza or on knitted fabric it's so much more interesting and dimensional, and yet it must be quite harder to achieve as well. Compliments to the maker!
