Doctor Tweets What His Day At The Hospital Looks Like, Says ‘It’s Really Hard To Understand How Bad This Is’
Coronavirus has now turned into a full-blown pandemic with almost 473K cases globally, 69K of which reside in the US. New York state accounts for roughly 7% of the global cases. Overloaded hospitals, shortage of supplies, and lack of protective equipment are making the crisis worse.
While doctors experience the chaos first-hand, people are taking shelter at home with little grasp of what’s happening inside the ER. But thanks to ER doctor Craig Spencer, who shared a day in his life in the NYP hospital, we’re now able to find that out. The series of tweets soon went viral with 130K likes and counting.
Unfortunately, the view is grim. Craig who’s on duty round the clock, warns that it’s too late to stop the outbreak. And being an Ebola virus survivor, he knows what he is saying.

Don't worry. The American president announced that this will just blow over and everything is back to normal before April 12 so everyone can start making money again and the economy will be tremendous. Because he knows more about the Coronavirus than all the doctors. He even called it a pandemic before anyone else did. And his Coronatest came out best of all tests all around the world. No one has ever tested better than he did.
And he has not touched his face for six months. He said that so you can believe that. And he has not shaken anyone's hand for six weeks. He said that too. ---------------------- random Australian praying for you guys. (and yeah i put myself into protective isolation 3 weeks ago ).
Load More Replies...Don´t just thank a solidier for his service give a "thank you for your service" to doctors, nurses and anybody else who work in healthcare, they deserve it more.
I don’t think it’s right trying to quantify who deserves our thanks more. Many provide services that are important in our day to day lives. Some are glamorous, most are not. All are important, including soldiers.
Load More Replies...That sentence "the virus can't infect those it never meets" needs to be put on billboards
But people are supposed to be INSIDE. So how are they supposed to see the message?
Load More Replies...Yes Please isolate yourselves so that you don't get it, and you don't know. And then you pass it on a nurse or doctor, or the guy that cleans the operation rooms.
The home health nurses in my area have almost all quit... to go to big cities to hire on as well-paid temps... And rural areas say it's not a rural issue, but that's b/c rural areas don't have testing! (or infrastructure)... The downstream effects... STAY CALM, but yes, STAY HOME. And in my work? Patient advocacy has become a battle against snake oil and ignorance. ... And panic... and people who think it's the end of th eworld against those who think it's okay to party hard. BUT we need to remember, as bad as this is? MOrtality rates are still relatively low! Mortality! (Not infection rates, that's different.) So.... Stay home. Stay calm.
I wonder... if... this might actually shed some light...or have "those in power" reflect on... the state of the healthcare system in the US... and make some of my ex-clients who would say "If I was in AMERICA, I'd have my treatment already!" shut up...?
No because of "America's" arrogance (& one person's stupidity), China's test kits weren't "acceptable & the CDC wasted valuable time reinventing a test so that there is still a critical shortage. Meanwhile the virus is mutating faster than the vaccine can be made. And most importantly, the President did not put the nation under mandatory "stay at home" status as soon as China informed us.
Load More Replies..."The streets are empty. This feels nothing like what is happening inside. Maybe people don't know??" No! We don't know! We don't see what you see. We're locked in in our homes. I have not seen a single patient on TV, only recovered/recovering ones (actually just two). I guess it's for their privacy, but I don't know. You all in the frontlines need to tell us, to show us. Please take care.
I really can't state how damaging is to spread panic. Most of these advice can't be applied in my country. People don't get masks always at work. Some lost their jobs and everything, some people bought ALL freaking masks and antiseptics of all kinds in the city and all us others don't have any. Wipe everything clean? With what? water and soap? I can't hoard food for more than week, maybe 10 days, I live in tiny apartment I don't even have a car, I bring everything myself. I know what is happening but what good is that for me. It is how it is. I can't wear masks or gloves because there are no any, I can't use antiseptics for same reason, I can just well hope for the best. As I already suffer from anxiety this dark predictions do not help me. I know trust me what is happening. But not everyone is lucky to live in rich country.
I live in the US and masks are reserved for the medical staff and first responders. I don't have a mask. I stay away from people. I use soap and water to wash everything. I keep a two week supply of food and household items because other people need things, too so I am not hoarding. We are conquering this by staying home, buying only what we need. Checking on our elderly neighbors and limiting our time outside. This isn't about being rich, it is about being smart.
