Man Perfectly Explains Women’s Rage Today Using Brutal Analogy So That All Men Can Finally Understand It

Author A.R. Moxon has recently invited all men to participate in an exercise of empathy. He reframed women’s experiences with violence and sexual assault and presented it in a way that most guys should comprehend… getting kicked in the nuts. At first, it sounds silly, but it doesn’t after you read the whole thing.

“Speaking on the societally-macro level, empathy has been largely a one-way street when it comes to gender roles and dynamics,” Moxon told Bored Panda. “In my experience, women are empathetic toward men, while men tend not to be particularly empathetic toward women.”

“Put another way, women have to think about what men are feeling as a matter of survival. Men aren’t in a similar situation, and so, if they don’t want to, they don’t. And, by and large, we don’t want to.”

“When women tell their stories of living with danger and vulnerability in abusive relationships and of survival from assault, our first instinct appears to be to protect ourselves from personal culpability and accountability; we certainly saw that dynamic play out as the Kavanaugh story developed.”

Moxon said that his analogy – like any other – is imperfect, and he has received a lot of feedback since he hit “send.” Positive and negative. “I chose nut-kicking because there isn’t a man alive that doesn’t understand exactly what a nut-shot is, and, with very few exceptions, none who would ever want it or seek it out or go out ‘asking’ for it,” he explained. “Most importantly, no man confuses getting kicked in the nuts with sex. It’s very clearly violence, even though it involves sex organs. The idea of growing up in a society where getting hoofed in the balls is normalized behavior, systematically if tacitly allowed by a complicit society, and frequently confused with a pleasurable activity like sex, would rightfully be horrifying to any guy.”

And he couldn’t have come up with it at a better time. As Judge Brett Kavanaugh has just been confirmed to the US Supreme Court, the world has been hit by a huge wave of anger and protest, highlighting the problems that surround sexual abuse, assault and other social issues around it.

“I can’t imagine women’s rage today,” Moxon wrote. “But this exercise, while abstract, helped me get nearer to it than I’d been.”

“The Kavanaugh confirmation proves once again that one of the primary drivers of our society right now is normalized abuse and enablement of abuse,” Moxon added. “In such a society, the telling of wrong is itself seen as the wrong. It’s unutterably sad. It’s why the country has a bully with the mind of a cruel child as president, supported by power, cheered by crowds.”

“I think you can see, if you want to, that there is a powerful political party that doesn’t care about women at all, and thinks not caring is good. I dare hope more of us see this clearly now than we did before.”

Continue scrolling to read the analogy and tell us your thoughts in the comments!

I once had to explain to a male acquaintance that rape hurts even fi you don't fight back and get punched. He was utterly clueless tha a penis could harm a vagina. Had advanced degrees, etc., but didn't realize that you can be lying there in shock and terror, utterly still, and it will STILL HURT LIKE HELL... And not just emotionally. Gobsmacking stupidity out there.

I don't think he is aiming it at all men. But rather, men who lack that basic respect for women and their bodies. Women are not toys to be used and discarded.

@Whatevers not taken and @Rebecca Lipps - Sometimes it’s both. More often it’s about power, because the person is trying to show dominance over the victim, like with chickens and other animals, when the male is trying to get on top of the female. Other times it may be about sex, if the male/female wants to have sex because he just wants to experience the pleasures of sex, and the other person doesn’t, so that’s when rape happens.

I don't need to be kicked in the nuts to understand the pain causing it. Why is calling someone out on their f*****g nutkicking, a reason for others to threaten you? Because they don't believe it? Nutkickers are everywhere. You might even know one. They don't wear a sign saying "Nutkicker". They could be hiding between young kids, in church, in policestations and even your own home. Sadly but true. If someone says they were kicked in the nuts, believe them! And please do everything to protect them for it ever to happen (again).

One of the most relevant and important things I've read... no means no, not being able to give consent means no. These are attitudes and deep seated beliefs that my brothers I had been given by our mom. Boys will be boys is not a valid excuse, it's complete b******t, and I have heard trump apologists and people who I thought of as good and reasonable say that what was acceptable back them has to be taken into consideration.... this is insane because rape has never been acceptable, sexual assault and harassment have never been acceptable, not for anyone...

I can't believe the comments section on this post. How the f**k are there still people who think it's okay to take away someone's pride, to violate them, to make them believe they don't own their own body? I personally don't know one girl or woman who hasn't been harassed, and all of them have been completely changed and traumatized, including myself. I hope some day in our lifetimes we won't have to worry about being groped.

The reason these analogies need to be made is so people are aware of the results of their actions. It's not to make men who were raped feel unimportant, it's just that the sexual assault of women is something that is so common and so normalized in our society. Yes, men do get raped, and so do women, but these analogies need to be made as long as sexual assault is still a problem in our world and as long as people still blame victims and elect accused sexual harassers into the government.

Great analogy. Here's one I use. What if you're a young man about 15. You go to a party. Two drunk idiots pull you into a bedroom. They hold you down and start groping you. You are terrified. You don't know if they are going to rape you or continue to violently assault you by holding you against your will. You don't know what is going to happen. You are embarrassed, humiliated, and terrified. They are laughing and forcing themselves on you. Then you manage to get away. Do you go running off to tell someone? Who do you tell? Who will believe you? Then you find out years later that one of these violators is going to be sworn into the highest legal positions. Would you come forward? Would you come forward and put your horrible experience in front of the world, only to be mocked by the highest position in your country? Wow! I told my truth in one of the threads. A male responded with "shame on you" because I didn't tell anyone 46 years ago. He just didn't get it!!

Wow. I'm female but even so I'm dumbfounded. This is so powerfull. Its the norm we live in. But seeing it from this somewhat "ridiculous" perspective is eye opening. We take it somewhat for granted that life is like this for women. We don't even see anymore how horrible it really is.

I grew up taught that it was fine to allow men to ogle me as a young girl. Just smile and be nice. Don't cover up, don't change your attitude, just let it happen. You might upset the man. - This was taught to me the way my father treated women, my mother and my sister & I. I wonder if my dad read this, would it put things in a different perspective for him?

Call it what it is..'Rape Culture' Those who defend it, those who ignore it, those who deflect. Let's say it starts at the top: Those elected to the highest positions in the land and are not held accountable. Women and men defend them. It's a culture where rape is seen and not taken seriously. I've seen many try and soften the term. I don't think it deserves compassion.

Imagine that the best solution anyone had tried to come up with so far was for men to travel in groups, during daylight, wearing flat shoes so they could run, with keys. between your fingers, or to cover up any sign of being male in case it provoked somebody to kick him, but on absolutely no account to treat any woman as a potential but kicker because it would hurt her feelings.

one part he forgot. At the same time as you are constantly protecting your balls from being kicked, you are told that they are the one feature you have which makes you attractive, and will bring you long lasting love, so while you are protecting them with paranoia, you must also wear tight clothing so you can simultaneously display them to win love and approval and attention from the world. If your balls are not deemed attractive enough by the women around you, then anything you say is ignored because your value is nonexistant.

I would add one last entry... It still needs “and imagine that someone would write a piece where they switched the gender roles of the women who kicked men in the nuts and the men who got kicked, in order to create empathy for you, and only the men who got kicked in the nuts would read it, and the women would just all continue to ignore it, and make mocking comments and keep on laughing.”

I'd like to add to this as well. When these things happen to children, people still don't always believe their children. Let's pretend it happened to our child for a moment, however. Many of us will fight to the death for our children (I wish I could say most of us, but we all know how untrue that is, unfortunately). We go, and we fight, and it goes to trial. The guy says, "I didn't do it!" Okay, but that doesn't help me as a parent, because my kid says it happened. There's no proof, because kids don't come forward right away all the time. They don't realize the should, and they're afraid they'll get in trouble. We all know what no proof means-you can't convict. So what's the answer here? Ignore the kid, say sorry there's no proof and move on? Convict anyway without proof, even though there is a "possibility" he didn't really do anything? This is tough because we don't want to think about this happening to our kids. I assure you, it does. What is the answer? We need to figure it out.

My take on those that dismiss the Kavanaugh accusation has two angles: one, the premise that there isn't enough evidence to support the accusations, and two that he is being attacked out of a political agenda. This is interconnected, and these people are so close: theu don't seem to understand the possibility that the opposite could be true, that he is lying through his teeth, that his republican backers won't allow for a fair investigation, that they are pushing Kav through for a political agenda of their own. Chew on that.

This doesn't work on would-be rapists or their sympathizers. I've literally been in an argument with a guy about whether it was ethical for rapists to be castrated and he said no, because with a man, it's permanent while when a woman is raped, it's just "a few minutes unwanted contact and isn't damaging to the woman". Rapists are unapologetic about it.

I dont know if this "nutkicking" analogy will enlighten people who get away with, or are ignorant towards sexual abuse to the fact that its disgusting, I think those people that do it dont have the empathy to care about how their actions effect the people they take advantage of. I dont know what this twitter thread achieves, perhaps i'm being ignorant though. This whole situation is becoming a bit of a moral jungle with loads of people coming up with different ways to explain the same thing - Sexual abuse is terrible

Another empathy experience for a man: You are walking alone and a man comes up behind you and renders you helpless with a stun gun and handcuffs you. He then pulls down your pants and sodomizes you. Are you eager to share your story or are you so humiliated you do so reluctantly? If this never happened would you make this story up, be willing to testify that this happened, so you could get someoe in trouble?

And in a way, it's even MORE infuriating to see something like this, and realize that some men need to have it f*****g broken down and spoon fed to them in order to figure out basic f*****g human empathy. LOOK AROUND YOU. Listen to the women around you. If you still can't figure it out after that, I don't think all the analogies in the world will help you. The analogy seems to be comparing the average man getting nut shot all his life with...what I assume is an average woman getting raped by every single entire male in her life till she is in her 20s. Or at the very least a woman that feels like someone is using razor blades on her vagine when penetrated. But either way its either not the average man's experience nor is it for the average woman's experience, since it suggests it as every male getting nut shotted for what seems the first half of his life and then people desire his nuts until the violent wife.

This is brilliant. I feel like a lot of men don’t care to empathize because it would put them at a disadvantage but I’m glad to see an anology that stands up. www.thoughtsparsed.com

THANK YOU, A.R. MOXON!!! It's sad that there are so many men who can't try to put themselves in someone else's shoes, and have to have someone draw them a picture before they "get it," but now men have no excuse whatsoever. I know a lot of women who say that men think with what's between their legs. Maybe now they'll understand how women feel about violation and how men treat them.

A great read and serious food for thought. I was very moved until the end when Moxon said this; “If you see somebody being cruel to women, or abusive, or violent?” “Kick’em in the nuts.” I nearly choked on my lemon biscuit.

Wow...this is so powerful, to the men who don't show kindness and warmth to women and girls..thank you so much. To the men who are cruel, abusive and neglectful of how your behaviour makes women and girls feel. Please look at your behaviour, ask yourself...would you want your mother, daughters or sisters treated this way..if that doesn't work ask yourself could you take being kicked in the nuts repeatedly...

I would start with the being kicked in the nuts analogy. Then I would say it all again with being rammed in the a**l r****m, and that this was something for some reason people liked to do to boys when they don't want them to. And that all people who wanted to do this to boys when they don't want them to, usually were bigger, trickier, more powerful in most everyway, and usually believed. And mocked boys who they did it to. Then go on to describe the whole story. Then at the end, add that it's been said being tricked or held down while people rammed something in their r****m, that it felt like death as the big people got unbelievable pleasure out of doing it, so much so they had orgasms. Feels like death almost and yet being kept alive just for pleasure. Add that please.

Imagine reading something empathetic like this from the opposite sex and not being able to believe it wasn’t ghost written by someone of your own gender because you had never met someone of the opposite sex who could actually empathize like this before. Imagine that kind of distrust and what it might take to turn it around.

On the basis of evolutionary psychology and how our pains and fears correlate with how things affected our ancestors' ability to pass on their genes... guys, imagine not just being kicked in the nuts, but being kicked so hard you can't have sex again for a year.

I totally get the analogy, but you know what? It -is- a reality. The first thing I learned coming from Kindergarten was how not get kicked in the partybus by every girl on the yard. The main threat in fights was that one lucky one-shot that would guarantee you to go down. Later in the teen years, a girl wanted to stop your argument? She faked kicking you in the balls, if you twitched, she and her friends laughed. She meant it, and you were able to block it off, darned, they were dumbfunded. What did just happen? I made an art out of not being kicked in the balls, and yes when I expected it, I wore protection, even, and especially on the job. Because it´s the one trick every man and woman knows, and it works. It -is- the constant threat from young years forward and the probability of being one-shotted like this is orders of magnitudes higher, also the risk of injury is immense, up to and including infertility, a higher risk of cancer and even live threatening internal bleeding.

It's a good analogy but ... One problem with this comparison is the notion that a male would actually like sex with an older woman so you have to compare the female experience to a male being kicked in the nuts instead. Another problem with this comparison is the notion that a female doesnt enjoy the experience even if it's unwanted, leaving those who orgasm from abuse thinking they are abnormal or that they wanted it. Sexual assault shouldn't be associated with "pain" per se but lack of consent because some rapists go out of their way to create pleasure for their victim which can leave said victim with very loathsome thoughts about why they experience any pleasure if rape should be physically "painful"

Big part of the story missing, if your going to tell the story about nuts you also need to add the power those nuts can bring as well. So image that you also get told, with these nuts boy you can get a woman to do anything, Also know that generally speaking woman will lay down their lives to protect your nuts, so the nuts maybe looked at as a vulnerability but they also bring much power, its the trade off

Sorry, I don't get this comparison. I'd say nut-kicking is not the correct comparison. You are talking about a physical damage, a physical pain. But what about the pain of the soul? That is more painful! In order for men to understand what female victims are going through you should rather talk about how it would be for a man to watch his twelve year old daughter getting raped by 5 violators!§!

Hey A. R. I read your exercise of empathy last night and it both moved and worried me. What at first sounded silly, became quite serious. An additional problematic presented itself to me. What if being kicked in the balls by the right person in the right context was also lauded by society as “The Ultimate Expression of Love”? What if the most painful, frightening, paralysing experience was also, in different circumstances, ecstatic and the easiest natural route to the survival of the species? What about the many, wonderful women, who would only kick you in the nuts with full consent; who were searching for the ultimate mutual ecstatic moment; who would actually protect you from the “bad” women with the potential to extingush any confidence men had of fun, safe, consentual ball breaking? Your analogy went a long way, really… but like you said “here we are”. Let’s keep this conversation going. Thank you for starting it. J. Mc Bean

Kicked in the nuts is more physical assault. Rape is psychological assault first of all. It's not the physical pain, but mental. Analogy for men to understand rape should be ass rape by someone against their will.

I just have to not have my head in my a**e long enough to listen to them and realize they put up with way more BS on a daily basis than I can even begin to imagine. This isn't rocket surgery...

What a crock of s**t. This is nothing more then perpetuating the idea that rape culture is a thing. Rape is bad no matter how you put it. However when someone claims sexual assault the instant thing to do is assume victimization. Its not minimization of the incident, it is finding the truth and assigning guilt when all proper evidence is presented. With the Kavanaugh case was brought forward so many people automatically assumed guilt and assigned victimization to Dr. Ford. When in truth there was no collaboration of Dr Fords testimony and there as no proof. There was doubt in her timeline, but people automatically assigned victim hood.

Even though I think the "kicked in the nuts" analogy is woefully inadequate to truly describe millennia of identity treachery; how about we expand this a bit? Let's say this support of nut-kicking, and the "right" for women to do so, has been written into every major religious text; and thereafter provided the basis for centuries of laws and social protocols. Imagine that any objection you may have for nut-kicking might result in you being legally stoned, imprisoned, or having your children taken from you. Now imagine that nut-kicking is just one of a thousand ways that women are not only allowed to do, but encouraged toward. In fact, they won't be considered "real women" until they comply. Now imagine that from childhood, women are indoctrinated into those thousand ways, and you (and your fellow males) have been taught to silence and acceptance, and don't complain, because being a "whiny b***h" is not an approved masculine trait. Now imagine that you must teach this to your sons

It's a nice idea, but it doesn't quite match up. Nobody says, "I can't wait to go home and have my girlfriend kick me in the nuts" or "I hope that hot girl at the bar takes me home and kicks me in the nuts". The analogy doesn't work because there's never a "good" version of nutkicking, but there is a "good" version of sex.

Yeah....I appreciate the intent, but you just cannot substitute a physical act and have the same impact. As men are socialized, any thought of a physical attack by someone physically smaller or weaker than us is welcomed...we welcome the opportunity to kick their a*s...that is what we are taught. The "threat" does not cause us to live in fear, we are taught to respond to violence with violence, so we do not walk in fear, especially if we are fit and strong, even if the "threat" comes from other men. We cannot help women dealing with sexual intimidation and assault by trying to imagine their trepidation, we have to do it with compassion and responsibility...and reflection on all of our behaviors.

The double-standards are disgusting. Men will NEVER respect women until women respect men first. Until men respect men also. Imagine being falsely accused of kicking a 12 year old in the nuts. Having your entire life destroyed with no evidence. Imagine having random people threatening to kill and rape you for no reason. Imagine people still believing this even after none of the information could be proven. You really think that men don't understand abusing women is wrong ? How arrogant or maybe naive? The men who commit these acts do not care about women or people in general. They understand completely what they are doing and the appeal is, that it is wrong. And if you think this is ever going away, think again. Predators and prey, every relationship on this planet is exactly that. Always has been, always will be

So your country is being Invaded and over run by ppl who want to take recources and probably rape your women. They may keep them as war brides so that they might live in exchange for sexual consistency so you may be fed to make babies or just pleasure. you might die but theres a chance youll survive and be taken care of by the opposition given tgey arnt an army of mass extinctionists. Imagine That chance is gone. You Get drafted and captured as a guy. you dont get to be raped or a chance to live. You die. while your wife gets raped by the opposition. Just because your biologicaly supirior. Your by defult disposable. Just because you cant give birth. Your empathetic analogy is R******d. In a case like that I would gladly switch places with any male who will be fast and simply killed. Compared to be held imprisoned for years, tortured painfully daily, humiliated daily, impregnated by force, give painfull birth to the child of my torturers, and then live with the memory of that horror for the rest of my life. Well, death sounds like a really sweet deal.

Hmmmm. I would reply to this post with something witty. But the very seed of this post is wholly and entirely malevolent, uniformed, condescending, and completely factually and historically inaccurate. Imagine this post didn’t exist. Too bad, it does, and I wasted the thirty seconds skimming the basic evil socialist ideology enough to predict the entirety of the article. This article and the person who spent time writing all that perverse and self-indulgent nonsense are both stupid. I wish we lived in an America (or the West in general) where we didn’t use ideas about alleged power-driven motives to point blame at all men and the supposed “patriarchy” to substitute for our own individual responsibility for our lives. Grow up.

Yes but how often do men ring the police and report a stranger for kicking them in the balls? Only to explain the lack of damage by pointing out it was an emotional or mental ball-kicking they sufferd when a woman glanced at their crotch! Or just by smilng at them?! Oh, and how many of those so badly damaged women commit suicide? Half as many as men? Quarter as many?! Fewer?!?!

I think you've missed the point, but yes--men don't call and report, and this is part of the problem too--just as women don't report. And yes, women commit suicide, as men do. Suicide is one of the greatest causes for death in men because men choose more violent ways to die, as opposed to how women attempt suicide. Another explanation of how men are damaged by society.

That is a terrible similarity to use. And the way you use it makes it sound like your comparing getting not shotted to a woman that is raped by every male around her till she is in her 20's. Instead try to imagine a woman forcing herself on your d**k without your say so. But then it would not seem so extreme right? And why is that? Is there a double standard? Do people care more about a woman's feelings than a man's so you need to equate assault of a man with sexual assault with a woman because woman are more emotional about everything so you can't equate it otherwise you have to assume a man is not just eager for any kind of sex he can get? Either way you would need to accept something that makes the similarity already used stupid. Like comparing apples to rape.

I feel so much better know that I know that men are never victimized. I was worried because every bit of research says that in the US says boys are more likely to be abused than girls in their childhood and are more likely to be victims of assault, armed robbery, and murder as adults . Not to mention the research on domestic violence that says at least 30% of domestic violence is female on male and we still have 11 states that define domestic abuse as only being male on female, not to mention that men make up 80% of the homeless population but nearly 50% of homeless beds are "women only". I am just so happy that I am a member of the gender that is never a victim.

Women 'kick men in the nuts' all the time. At the office when they run to the manager and claim you are doing your work correctly. I never get asked my side of the story because it's so easy to believe the woman. As far as Kavanaugh is concerned, yes he is a frat house wanker. Yes, he has been appointed to positions based on his family's standing. Yes, he has an attitude which would be repugnant today. But it does not make him a rapist & nobody has proven sexual assault has actually occurred.

Except guys are the majority of violent crime in general. So I'll put add a more accurate spin to this analogy. Imagine men are being kicked in the nuts every day. Imagine there's nothing really said about it, "it's just the world we live in", and we move on. Nobody speaks about it, men don't bring it up too often. We continue our day to day lives without fearing that it can happen regardless of it happening a lot. Now imagine women are being punched in the face at a lesser rate (Still an issue but it's at a lesser rate). Campaigns are made about it, it's in the news, groups protest about it. Everybody is talking about it and it's brought up constantly. Women continue their day to day lives and everybody is expecting you to care about it. Now imagine all that and then having the second group claim men have no idea what it's like to be victims of the world even though they're the majority of violent crime in that world. Further that by then claiming it's men that lack empathy

Maybe if Justice Kavanaugh had actually been guilty of anything, would this rage have been justified. Speaking as a real survivor, not of having my number asked for while working in an office, or having a man wolf whistle and denigrate my status as a human(both of these things have happened without scarring me permanently) but as a woman that lived through 10 years of sexual abuse from the age of 4, what Ford did to women, was much more rage inducing that anything the GOP or men in general have done in centuries. Her words, inspired perhaps by real events, but more influenced by a political party that can't handle loss and must strike out with any violence it can muster to punish those that did take the reins, are more insulting, more hurtful and more damaging to real survivors of real assault.

Shame to let politics intrude to such an extent that he highlights Republicans.....maybe he forgot the Democrat created tax-payer funded slush fund set up to pay off sexual harassment claims by congressional staff that paid $21m to victims in exchange for their silence or left wing Hollywood, where "nut-kickers" are rewarded with Oscars, fame and riches and everyone knows about their depravity, or the 90% left-wing mainstream media that has weaponised abuse accusations whilst seeking advertising from corporate "nut-kickers" portraying women as playthings and sex-objects. Until this is dealt with as a societal/cultural problem requiring a whole of society approach, women will remain commodified & at risk.

And where is the talk of female power, female shadow, female accountability? Where is the male pain, the male powerlessness, the victimization? Where is the empathy toward male? When are women invited to listen with empathy? Where's the other half of gender reality? “In my experience, women are empathetic toward men, while men tend not to be particularly empathetic toward women.” So, feminininism is all about empathy toward men? So, out of empathy toward men, women have supported men's issues as much as men have supported women's? Was that million woman march an expression of women's collective rage at men's 4.5 times higher suicide rate getting no special attention, no task force, no publicity, no funding toward research and prevention? Was that what the women were protesting?

What this fails to take into account is that we have no idea IF Kavanaugh is guilty just as we really have no idea if he isn't. With Weinstein, Clinton and Cosby the evidence was overwhelming. I like what this person is saying regarding empathy but the political message is unnecessary to the actual message. It would be better if these writers would make their points less about left/right and more about sexual assault in general.

All fair points, except, if someone accused you of kicking them in the nuts, I'd still presume your innocence until substantive evidence of your guilt is supplied. I wouldn't believe the accuser simply because many bad things happened to many accusers in the past or that life is generally tough for people of that gender. See, intellectual consistency and adherence to basic principles of justice. That's not so hard is it? Seems quite hard for you folks to grasp.

Okay people...lets assume that women sometimes assume some of the responsibility here...for instance, who poses for these provocative pictures, movies, etc? The writer here spoke of being kicked in the nuts and not reporting it. I bet there are many instances out there of men being kicked in the gonads, and not reporting it. Why not? Same reason women don't; fear of ridicule, shame, embarrassment and so on. Men and women are very different in their thought processes, in their outlook, in their behavior. Men need to learn respect (those that can learn it) and women need to be more assertive (those that can be). And lets not forget, there will always be predators out there.

I guarantee that 9.5 times out of 10 those provocative pictures and movies were arranged and funded and directed by men, and that the women are going along with it because of any number of reasons. Men being embarrassed to tell their friends they got kicked in the nuts isn't anything close to women living with the shame and trauma of being raped. The women are NEVER at fault. If a woman says no and the man continues, that's rape, and it's his doing, not hers.

I find the title of this article to be condescending towards men. It implies that men cannot have compassion for women and understand what they go through when in reality they can. This feels like it is "dumbing down" the situation for men and implying that they can never understand what a women experiences by just hearing their stories.

Yet, now we have feminists that wants all men killed or at least put in camps. Just because a small group of idiots can't behave or treat other people decently, doesn't mean every man is guilty or should be treated like criminals just because they are men. That is just as ludicrous as what was described in the rant, up to the point where it went political, where I stopped reading. Rape or any other form of sexual harassment or attacks is never acceptable, to either sex, for whatever reason, but just because it happens, doesn't mean that you get to charge everyone with the crime. While more rare, there are sex offenders among women as well, what about that? Men rarely, if ever report abuse for the risk of looking weak and loosing face. Men gets their "fair" share of mental and physical abuse from women on a daily basis, it just rarely gets reported because of the social stigma. Women are not the saints some of them (and some men) paint themselves as.

Okay, but the problem is that we demand mountains of proof that someone was raped, instead of listening to their story and looking at their face and believing them. The default is to assume the victim is making it up for malicious reasons, and to excuse the attacker because they're too important or have potential or any number of other options. Terry Crews came out and said he'd been assaulted, and people didn't believe him either. That's what the problem is. And I know #notallmen etc etc but yes all men, or just as good as, because rape is so normalized in our culture that men are protected when they commit it and no one complains when they joke about it.

Wait a second, this analogy doesn't work, that's very different since being kicked in the nuts has nothing to do with sex, you would have to replace women kicking men in the nuts with women giving men blowjobs and touching their nuts or something, and quite frankly I wouldn't be mad if women wanted that in your analogy, so the rage still doesn't make a lot of sense.

I almost totally agree with this as an exclusively negative case (except the abortion part). It is almost totally right. But there would also need to be a thread about the power of your nuts, and how some men really did accuse women of kicking them in the nuts falsely, and made your female bosses not want to be alone with you, and that your nuts could get you special attention and promotions, and that there were special promotions for people with nuts, and scholarships. And that if you had nuts, you could be an inferior athlete, and colleges had to make teams for you, and that people were always talking about the discrimination against people with nuts even though they dominated every field except the ones that are boring (Some STEM) or that kill you (Military). And on and on and on. That doesn't make the moral status of nut kicking different, but it would change the feel of the whole exercise. nothing is all one way.

Not that I might get uneasy, I don't care about that aspect at all - I have not had an easy life. You really don't understand just how much oppression that rape victims have had to endure over the years. Don't you? Please do your research before commenting on a topic like this.

Ya know what?! I was sexually and physically abused, so I feel like Ive earned the right to weigh in on this! It REALLY annoys me that SO many woman want to wallow in a victim mentality! I refuse to do it! By doing so I am just setting myself up to feel weak, among others things. Also, I flatly REFUSE to allow my abusers to take up even one fraction of a second of my mind or life! ALSO! HERE IS A GREAT POINT, boys are sexually abused ALL of the time!! Why arent they victims as well??? Because they have a penis?! Its ridiculous!

People react to trauma differently and there is nothing wrong with that and a lot of us here have 'earned the right to weigh in on this'. While your 'great point' about boys being abused is true, and made elsewhere, it doesn't invalidate the point that this man is trying to make - whether or not you agree with how he is trying to make it. When using analogies to explain something to a section of society who don't 'get it' sometimes it isn't totally inclusive. Making one point doesn't mean that there aren't others.

uh, I guess let's totally ignore the fact that Ms Ford changed her story multiple times. Plenty of women that have been assaulted pointed this out and not every woman who has been a victim thinks that Brett is guilty just because celebrities do. Change your story so many times and people wont believe you. that's what happened to Ms Ford

Imagine you worked hard all your life to get a job. When it came time to get said job, some woman accuses you of raping her. You know you are innocent, but half the country now thinks you are a rapist. You may not get the job. Your name becomes the household name for rapist. Your family is bombarded with death threats. Your life is ruined because of one lady with no evidence.

There is lots of evidence. It's likely you don't believe any of it because you've been indoctrinated. You don't see how someone working towards a career their whole life can also be guilty of a crime. Maybe you're just plain callous.

f*****g idiots. the problem is not with bad men thinking of raping women. When the woman is not going to be educated like a princess and market won't objectify them by manipulating them, then you can hope for a change, until them the woman now is an object thanks to the greedy mind that manipulates the market to make women buy shiploads of s**t to objectified themselves. There are STUDIES that shows the obvious. Women continue to be sexualized and misrepresented in Ads and everywhere, just to make some money. It's the fault of the society that it allows greedy people to make fortune out of turning the women into objects. Objectification of women won't end until advertising and media change. If you want your daughters to not being raped then try to point the problems of a f****d educational system and a greedy financial system. Then lynch the individuals and groups that turns this world into this gang bang rape. This article is another manipulative article.

...Except men don't need to have the idea of rape explained to them any more than women. Men are also raped and at a rate that far exceeds the rate reported because of prison rape and the ridicule men face when coming forward. A man who has not been raped understands rape just as well as a woman in the same circumstance. I would agree that everyone should understand rape more, but separating men and women like that is simply counter-productive and divides us even more. Rape is something we should all be able to agree on, portraying it in this divisive way only divides people who could be standing together against something terrible.

All true. The big difference is men can't get pregnant and forced to carry and birth the result of that rape. They also don't get s**t shamed or generally shamed as much. On the other hand they have even more trouble than women asking and getting help and getting someone to believe it even happened and to take it seriously. But really it's a problem with the whole society and for the whole society to solve (for example to stop with the gender inequality from the birth - stop telling boys they're not allowed to openly cry and the only acceptable emotion to openly show is aggression and anger for example, also: to teach the the people in general that empathy is a good thing and worth it and not to reward ruthlessness) and not man vs. women.

When Kavanaugh was nominated by Bush in 2006 United States Court of Appeals, why not come forward then? Why go to a politician and not the police? This makes no sense to me. I have family that really was a victim of rape. Ford said she said "Hi" to the person who attacked her the day after or so, and he turned pale and didn't speak. If a person was truly attacked, I can't imagine that person ever speaking to their attacker because of fear. Why must we believe her over him? 35 years later?

N..no? I mean, if you actually know anyone who believes that, that's terrible — but that in no way describes the Kavanaugh for whom 75 women stood and provided consistent character-based defense based on long-established persona, platonic, professional, and even romantic relationships with the man. This is virtue-signalling for SJW points and does nothing to fix the problem it addresses while pouring gasoline on the anti-masculine intersectionalist culture so prevalent in liberal media and academia today.

Now imagine, You are a woman who has achieved a level of success in your field that sets you up for the greatest honor possible. The current political climate is filled with such vitriol and hatred that violence has broken. Journalists, entertainers and politicians have called for the cold blooded murder of the woman president, she nominates you for this highly honored position. Largely because SHE is so unpopular you are subjected to immediate hate, you are accused of believing things that you are on record not believing in. They even attack your spouse and children. And then someone from the past, a boy from thirty years ago claims you kicked him in the nuts. He can't remember when or where you did it. Never told anyone for decades, then told a different story about it at first. It was so long ago it's not prosecutable. But Nut kicking is so abhorrent that anyone accused of it should immediately fold their cards, do not pass go, go directly to jail,

Imagine you got kicked in the nuts by someone, then got judged by both them, and some random people who have been stirred to action by a straw man and because they hate someone else who supports you and have a wider agenda. Then be found guilty on the basis of unfounded, proofless assertions. Guilty of something in the abscence of any corroberating evidence or any witnesses whatsoever or any due process and then you're life is threatened by people who say they stand for "fairness and equality" Imagine changing the axiom of guilty until proved innocence. Then imagine the axe falling in slow motion upon your neck, because you helped usher in another era of socialist/ communist hell on earth, because you failed to see that the twisted post modern/ neo marxists couldn't help themselves because you've allowed them to put you in a group and now the reductionists and insane marxist nutters assert that your group is an oppressor.

The regressive left the believe in free speech only for themselves and not for others is hiding all the comments from people defending Kavanaugh, a man ACCUSED of sexual assault, but through a democratic process of 7 investigations, was found not guilty, and they are still vilifying him. Yes, rape happens and yes, it shouldn't. I was 18 when I was sexually assaulted by a 35 year old married man. I, however, don't condone the guilty until proven innocent thing that's all the rage now. Two words: Emmett Till. If you're not familiar, please look into it. It's a case of malicious and false accusation that was responsible for the brutal murder of a black 14 year old boy. This is what happens when you don't care about Onus Probandi.

I get that rape causes pain I'm not one of those guys that don't but this analogy is stupid, it just doesn't work, getting kicked in the balls is never something that is pleasurable, it's painful regardless of if i give a woman consent or not the same is not true of sex, women want sex but they want consensual sex, also women of course don't want to be leered at by men they have no interest in but they're not walking around in full suits of armour. Down vote away but this analogy is bad it would have made more sense if he had just explained rape as rape.

Hey, there are men out there who love a good ball punch. This nutkicking is being compared to nonconsensual sex only. Non consensual is never enjoyable. I know from experience. I said no. Why can't we talk about both? We all know radical Islam is bad. We can talk about one or the other or we can talk about both. Having an article specifically talking about the discrimination of women in the US doesn't mean we don't notice what is happening elsewhere.

This all sounds well and good and I love that this guy is trying to get men to understand what it's like being sexually assaulted & often treated as an object since it happens to them on a much less frequent basis than it does women, but the issue is that it's pretty much never okay to kick someone in the nuts unless it's in self defense. That makes it different than being sexually assaulted where there can sometimes be gray area in someone's mind as far as consent. I wish it were such a black and white issue but, unfortunately, it's just not.

His attempt at empathic "abstract" is justifying and promulgating stereotypical rationalization (sexism in this case) on the part of some women. "Imagine", he says (paraphrasing here), "that it is (all, by implication) women... instead of (all) men... doing these horrible things. Don't you, as a man, feel bad now?" To see what's wrong with this type of "thinking", how about we imagine this instead. Imagine everywhere he says women, we substitute white... and everywhere he says men, we substitute black. Or vice-versa.

Let's say it starts at the top: Those elected to the highest positions in the land and are not held accountable. Women and men defend them. It's a culture where rape is seen and not taken seriously.

Horseshit, this is gaslighting. All that changed were tiny details of a traumatizing event that happened 3 decades ago. Most of the changes are completely innocuous. You lot are just making more excuses, side stepping the point.

Men need to talk to men and to boys - they need to help raise boys and support each other to be the best people they can be. Men need to tell their stories, good and bad, to each other to help make our world a better place. This kicking story is fantastic because it's doing just that.

I honestly don't understand why analogies like this are necessary. And let's face it, the people who most need to read this type of thread, won't. They don't care. They have made that ABUNDANTLY clear.

J. Mc Bean

The thing is, none of this should be necessary. I do not need a comparison or an explanation to understand the BS women have to put up with and to be able to empathize with them. I just have to not have my head in my a**e long enough to listen to them and realize they put up with way more BS on a daily basis than I can even begin to imagine. This isn't rocket surgery...

Because the vast majority of us totally didn't get it before.... No, this, the over-explaining things (AND YES, WE UNDERSTAND "MANSPLAINING" TOO) is what gets frustrating. It's not people on Twitter that need a reality check, it's the old bastards in Government that don't seem to understand anything. But good luck getting them to listen to the peasants.

I completely agree with this article, although I find it a bit strange that the Twitter handle of the author of these tweets is a reference to, imo the greatest comedian who ever lived, Groucho Marx. The Groucho character was an over-sexed, skirt-chaser in the classic Marx Brothers movies. Granted it was the 1930's, but it still made me pause.

Sexual assault shouldn't be associated with "pain" per se but lack of consent because some rapists go out of their way to create pleasure for their victim which can leave said victim with very loathesome thoughts about why they experience any pleasure if rape should be physically "painful"

We cannot help women dealing with sexual intimidation and assault by trying to imagine their trepidation, we have to do it with compassion and responsibility...and reflection on all of our behaviors.

sexual assault is sexual assault. Men live their entire lives with under the weight of being belittled. Our bodies are disrespected in movies, TV, everywhere. It is MEN who are marginalized. The double-standards are disgusting. Men will NEVER respect women until women respect men first. Until men respect men also. One day when i was going through the internet i saw a testimony of how Dr noble helped people with his penis enlargement herbal formula and premature ejaculation cream and i decided to give it a try because i desperately need to increase my manhood and last long during sex and to my greatest surprise Dr noble penis enlargement herbal formula and premature ejaculation cream worked for me . Within 2 weeks of usage, i started seeing results and after a month i checked and found out my size is now 5.6 inches. I was so happy and ever since then i have enjoying sex

Only to explain the lack of damage by pointing out it was an emotional or mental ball-kicking they sufferd when a woman glanced at their crotch! Or just by smilng at them?!

Here is why that theory is flawed. https://www.businessinsider.com/cornerstore-caroline-911-police-call-black-child-sexual-assault-allegation-2018-10 and here: https://www.foxnews.com/us/five-high-school-mean-girls-targeted-boy-with-false-accusations-of-sexual-assault-lawsuit-claims

I’m a man, a Democrat and hate Trump and Kavanaugh. But before I imagine all those things, I want you to see the reality where more white women voted for Trump than Clinton. And two woman could have stopped Kavanaugh nomination but they didn’t. So please don’t make this a man vs woman issue.

Did you watch the testimony? Ford is entirely credible. Kavanaugh lied while under oath (and he is a judge) beyond his defence. He also screamed and yelled and acted in all ways no one would want a judge behaving, let alone a man now in charge of women's lives

“In such a society, the telling of wrong is itself seen as the wrong. It’s unutterably sad. It’s why the country has a bully with the mind of a cruel child as president, supported by power, cheered by crowds.” When you feel that you just have to slam President Trump, your credibility is gone.

There are a lot of different types of people on BP and it has it's share of trolls. You might get responses that are going to cause you greater distress. That is what I meant. Not that I might get uneasy, I don't care about that aspect at all - I have not had an easy life. I just think that websites dedicated to people who wish to share their sexual assault experiences would provide you with a more appropriate environment. I genuinely didn't mean to cause you distress. I'm not great at explaining myself. If I upset you, and I didn't mean to, what about people who do want to upset you? There are many great people here but I just don't think Bored Panda is really a safe place for sharing something deeply personal and distressing.

You missed the whole point of this post. And by the way, Justice Kavaugh demeaned himself by sexually assaulting women and by lying under oath (beyond the rape charges). He screamed and yelled and acted in all ways unprofessionally. The fact that you have happily ignored his behaviour is central to this post.

The day a woman's life is turned upsidedown by rape happens every day. The day a man goes to jail for rape is a rare one indeed. By the way, Kavanaugh has been accused by three women, and he lied while under oath. That should alone should have disqualified him (he is a judge, after all.)

Making one point doesn't mean that there aren't others.

f*****g idiots. the problem is not with bad men thinking of raping women.

And yet over 200,000 rapes occur in the USA alone every year. That's 22 rapes every hour. So apparently not everyone understands it's bad. And those are the conservative numbers.

Ive not been aware of the fact that intercourse for women is as painfull as kicking a guy in the nuts ! It has also been stated , if you dont want someone to play with your toys dont leave them lay around!

I said no. I yelled no. He kept at it. I never went to the police. He had me convinced that I was stupid and probably woulda lost anyway.

Great, now take a stand against radical Islam and the way females are treated. Once you do that, I'll know you're serious. Instead, we'll actually hear about Islamophobia when the treatment of women in Islam is mentioned (let the down votes begin)

Why can't we talk about both? We all know radical Islam is bad. We can talk about one or the other or we can talk about both. Having an article specifically talking about the discrimination of women in the US doesn't mean we don't notice what is happening elsewhere.

I wonder if this terrible analogy will get this white knight laid. Analogies are great....if they are actually applicable. I see this same analogy all the time and it’s terrible because no guy ever wants to get kicked in the nuts whereas women obviously do enjoy sexual encounters and sexual attention when it comes on their own terms.

No one is talking about sexual encounters or sexual attention. We are talking about sexual ASSAULT. No one likes any type of assault, be it woman or man.
