How is it a reminder of her womanness? It's not like she forgot that she has breasts that bounce around every day, not just on period days. From 1998, I tried to become pregnant, and every period was a reminder of my not-being-pregnant. I managed to be pregnant for 11 weeks in 2002, since then; nothing. They say while at the same time there are artists (females) making work based on their periods and how great and amazing they are.
Near the end of my fertile period I was actually, finally, not just ok with having them but happy about it. (For the record, I always had wildly variable periods from none at all to ALL THE BLOOD AND PAIN.) Then, as if learning that lesson was the point, I went into menopause. I don’t miss my periods any more, or worrying about getting pregnant, but I’m glad I had that couple of years of contentment with my body’s process.
As much as this annoys, me, I actually do kinda look forward to my period for that very reason. But guys don't get to assume that's how it works for everyone. Heck, people in general should try to not rocket-launch themselves to conclusions.

Tell you what, when you have adenymyosis, endometriosis, and menorrhagia, periods really are the worst thing, more than usual. Passing tennis ball sized blood clots for a week is not a piece of cake. And yes, my doctor explained that at my age a hysterectomy would not be approved.

The only time I ever was glad about it was some months ago when I worried I might be pregnant. In my preteen and teen years I used to hold some very misogynistic views similar to these. I'm glad that with a lot of discussion, education, and trying to learn from my mistakes that I have grown out of it. The incel community scares me. Men need to try to look at things from womens' perspectives. Studying history and going to higher education helps. We all need more empathy.
