Nostalgia has a place in everyone's hearts, but no one floods the internet with their sentiments about the past as much as 90s kids. The 90s, after all, were a magical time when playing silly games outside all day met the development of modern technologies that have shaped and molded us into who we are now. And proud about it we are. However, since no age group spends online as much time as we do, cut us some slack, why don't you?

Many things made our childhood special — the CD player that wouldn't fit into any pocket, the legendary Tamagotchi, and hilarious 90s fashion that seem to have re-born nowadays quite seriously and not in the form of hilarious memes (much to our dismay). Most of these 90s nostalgia relicts are hardly available now, so we have to keep their memories alive. And what better way to do so than creating funny memes? Scroll down to check out the nostalgic selection of 90s trend that will instantly send every kid of the decade down the memory lane and upvote your favorites.

I worked in a super poor library. In 2009 we finally upgraded to scanners. These things still exist out there, fear not! Feel free to go spend many more hours in your library! :)

my favorite place in the world is the library - I knew how to read those cards - and would hike to the local library just to look up the answer to a crossword

I love the smell of books & turning pages. But I really like being able to search the book/article within seconds. I'm a product of both times & I feel like I save so much time this way. It means I might actually get 8 hrs of sleep on the weekends.

This made me think of how many little wooden drawers there were in a single library. Then, how many libraries there are on Earth. Man, that's a lot of little drawers! Where did they all go?

The tactile touch and smell of the well worn drawers and the cards themselves were enchanting. Much the same as reading an anolog book or periodical today.

Electronic card catalogs were not created instantly. Once a system was installed, ALL the information had to be manually typed into the database. Public and collegiate libraries began with cataloging all newly acquired items, then worked backwards, sometimes by year acquired, sometimes by shelf. New publications now can be added immediately to a library's catalog by scanning the ISBN #.

All your information in one place, easily findable and well sorted? Other than the book already being checked out I don't see what the problem was. Oh yeah, the problem is you didn't have an encyclopedia set at home. All of my research came from the 4 paragraphs on each subject in the World Book.

you actually HAD TO READ, UNDERSTAND AND SUMMARIZE information from so many books!! And if you couldn't find enough info on one library, I had to go to another one!

I wouldn't be able to write a paper now. ALL the information u need is on line. Do kids even go to the library? And the teachers are facing things they never dreamed of when they got into teaching.

I'm very sad to say that my high school no longer has an actual library with books in it. It's around 50 years old and used to have a huge library but now they even re-named it as "the learning commons". Some of the older teachers are very sad

This needed you to think/research and learn to "find" information, and I am proud to still be able to do it! I am confused that it took two steps to find the book your looking for, while it takes multiple 'sites' to find what you MAY find the info you need....you could recover buckets more information and learned to decide what information was pertinent, while if you don't find the immediate availablility, you just keep clicking to make it pop up. After finding the information you 'really' need you must now decide how to use it. In the real world all the 'internet' info may not touch on the information that learning 'hands on' technique can make you succeed.....now! So go ahead and complain about your GOOGLE research....unless you know the basics that you are googling....you won't understand what you can do with their info.......

I remember researching for my term paper in English 101, spending endless nights in oh-so-many-libraries-because-there-was-no-such-thing-as-intra library loan, and the card catalogue became, what we know know as, my BFF!

I felt old as c**p when I described a card catalog to someone, only for her to have no idea what one was. Granted, she was only a few years younger than me, so I also had the bonus of feeling like redneck trailer trash, too. (I was from Mississippi where there were few computers, she was from a far more civilized state) X-D

Worse with the ones that fall really slowly. The start of it wakes you up, then you spend the following 10 mins frozen in bed, trying to distinguish what the sound was and if you were actually still asleep or not lol
