North And South Korean Olympic Gymnasts Just Took A Selfie Together And The Internet Is Going Crazy
Lee Eun-Ju is from South Korea and her competitor, Hong Un Jong, is from North Korea. Even though their countries are technically still at war, the athletes came together for a selfie on Monday.
Lee Eun-Ju is just 17 years old while her opponent is already an Olympic champion ( Hong won gold at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing in the women’s vault competition). The two were seen chatting and laughing together as they prepared to compete in the qualification for the artistic women’s gymnastics. Luckily, photographers were there to capture the moment when Lee Eun-Ju held her mobile phone with one hand and formed the peace sign with the other.

Yeah, that thought alone makes this article terrifying...
Load More Replies...it's really heartwarming. but I'm kind of worried for the girl when she gets back. =(
One day we will see that big hearts find more peace than big weapons. These two have shown the world what a big heart really is <3
I hope nothing bad happens to the North Korean girl when she gets home :(
Their countries are at war, doesn't mean the people feel the same way
I'm suprised that North Korean citizens are allowed to compeate in the Olympics.
I'm Korean and living S.Korea. This is one of the stereotypes. Their sportsmanship perofrmance doesn't matter at all. It's just Sport!!
Very heartwarming to represent our people, thank you for taking the photo cuz that's just awesome!
This is amazing! This two girls does more for their countries than their presidents!
no worries. the girl will be ok. north korea lets elderly south korean people meet families and sight see when they feel friendly time to time...
Unfortunately, in Korea, the 2 finger gesture she is doing doesn't mean "peace" it just means gimchi
I thought that North Korea boycotts all international events and does not allow civilians to travel abroad! Seems like it was wrong news!!
Going to the dentist is quite a luxury in these countries. They certainly have basic needs to attend before that.
