These “Galaxy” Flowers Hold Entire Universes On Their Petals
222Kviews
Want to gaze at distant galaxies but don’t have a strong enough telescope? Then don’t worry, because we’ve got the perfect solution. All you need to do is to buy yourself some Night Sky Petunias, because as you can see, their petals look like they’re hiding secret little universes inside of them.
Scientifically known as Petunia cultivars, Night Sky Petunias are a deep purple flower that’s characterized by the unique patterns on their petals. Much like their name suggests, these mesmerizing plants bloom to reveal a stunning plethora of white stars resembling distant clusters of galaxies. Their otherworldly patterns are the result of a variance between night and day temperatures, so if you’re growing your own then you should keep them warm in the day (around 100° F) and cool at night (about 50°F) in order to yield the most spectacular results. Want to grow a little personal galaxy in the comfort of your very own home? Then head on over to Amazon and pick up a pack of Night Sky Petunia seeds.

These are Exceptionally Beautiful Petunias! Petunias are one of my favorite flowers because they fill a hanging basket so nicely. :D
They are so beautiful, I've got one on my balcony and it's petals are absolutely stunning!
Where can you get them?
Pretty pretty in these photos... But I wonder what kind of lighting it takes to have the galaxies 'glow' like that? What if most of the time under normal sunlight they just look diseased? Just trying to be realistic here. =/
I actually have these in my garden and can confirm no lighting needed. They are just naturally beautiful exactly like this.
That is awesome!
Did you go to a nursery to find them?
dude they are just flowers with white spots lol
They really do pop like that. Unfortunately, depending on the soil you plant them in, you might find that after you bring them home from the nursery, the next generations of blooms do not have the same spectacular pattern. That was my experience. They were still very pretty purple and white. Does anybody know how growing conditions affect the patterns of these flowers?
