Oh, the sweetness of sheer unapologetic laziness… Is it just a lack of willpower? Maybe it’s a state of mind, a hedonism-inspired lifestyle, a rebellion of modern kind. All jokes aside, calling someone “lazy” is somewhat an insult, especially in societies where hard work and productivity are valued highly (we’re looking at you, America!).
Having said that, a 2019 Pew survey found that a majority of Americans think people are lazier now than they used to be. But we can all discuss what being dubbed lazy actually means.
For some it's a lack of physical activity, for others it may be lack of will to do even the most routine and boring tasks. And while it’s totally normal to have a brief episode of idleness, if it lasts too long, you’re suddenly playing dangerous games.
So today, we’re diving deep into real-life examples of people succumbing to their laziness, by choice or accident. The result is an uncanny collection of pics that may make you laugh, infuriate you or give you a moment to reflect on your own lazy side.

Multiple Reasons Why You Should Put Your Cart Back And Not Be Lazy
Super frustrating to see this. My dad is a paraplegic due to a car accident. We both nearly died, no exaggeration. This type of c**p happens all the time. I’ve seen two healthy 19 yr old dudes park in a handicap parking space at the bank. Most folks excuses are, “oh I’ll only be one second”. NO ONE is ever just one second. The laziness & sense of entitlement is brewing rampant across the globe. This is not something unique to one race or moral beliefs. It’s a complete lack of common courtesy.
Laziness can lash out at us at every corner, especially at times when we need to be at our most productive. Think of work deadlines, important meetings and calls, bills to be paid and things to be done. Sometimes it’s little things that we can’t force our bodies to push through– from household chores to dragging ourselves to the gym.
And while we all have brief moments of idleness (which may feel pretty indulgent!), at some point it becomes a genuine problem. So to find out more about what’s actually happening in our minds when we’re lazy, how to cope with it we reached out to two experts: Christine Mitterbauer, a licensed and ICF-approved career, and life coach and serial entrepreneur, as well as Dr. Audrey Tang, a chartered psychologist, media spokesperson and author of multiple books, including "Be A Great Manager Now", "The Leader's Guide to Mindfulness."

Did She Purchase Or Put Back Any Of The Books? Of Course Not

Dr. Tang argues that laziness becomes a problem when you are either no longer contributing fairly to what you are receiving and requiring others to take the strain (with little thought to their wellbeing and efforts), or it is standing in the way of your own achievement of personal goals and desires.“In the latter case (and sometimes in the former) - this can speak to a lack of motivation, and, sometimes, the lack of desire to do anything can be a symptom of depression. In which case it can be helpful to ask yourself why this is happening,” she explained.

This Is Embarrassing
So here are some important questions to ask yourself, according to Dr. Tang: “Think of a goal, have you got it?” and next, “Think of all the things you need to do to achieve it.”
“Small manageable chunks, with focus – you should be achieving that in no time – go you!”
“Seems straightforward, doesn’t it?” Dr. Tang asks. “And this is a goal you’ve had for some time, plus those steps are probably quite easy…”
Dr. Tang invites us to think about everything we did yesterday–”how many of those things contributed TO your goal or simply distracted you from it (Netflix binges, scrolling mindlessly through social media, any psychodramas you got caught up in)?”

Driving Over Graves Because They’re Too Lazy To Walk
According to Dr. Tang, our brains are amazing since they are capable of so much. “And yet we often apply their energy and drive ineffectively due to habit, laziness, or simply because we don’t know any other way.”
It’s important to realize that it is not the big choices that we make that shape our lives the most – “whether to buy that house, whether to take that job, whether to get into a relationship with that person… because they are clearly defined and they have an exit strategy,” she said and added that “it is the little choices you make every day that really make up who you are.”

Dr. Tang gave an example: “Do you have the apple instead of the donut? Do you take 5 minutes for yourself, or do you say 'yes' to every person who asks? Do you choose to speak kindly to you, or do you berate yourself for 'just not being good enough?'”
According to the award-winning book author and spokesperson, “if we can focus on making as many little healthy choices as possible, we’ll be living the life we want, rather than seeking motivation to move towards it.”

Am I Crazy Or Is This Acceptable?
We share a laundry room with the people upstairs (the laundry room is right outside our door). This pile of dirty clothes has been sitting there for 5 days, this is nothing new. My bf is making me feel like the crazy one for having a problem with it. Advice please?
There is definitely a problem with this. You don't clutter up communal spaces with your c**p.
Yes! Communal means it's everybody's and nobody's at the same time. If everyone left their s**t in the communal space, we would have no clear space at all in a matter of days. I share the landing with two other apartments and the landing is literally one square meter. Neighbor A. always leaves something outside their door, like their muddy shoes or a bucket or the garbage bin. It's not a big deal, I can still move around, they don't block my door or anything but If neighbor B. and I would leave something out ourselves, we would have a problem moving around. Neighbor A. don't cause a clutter only because they are the only one doing it. So, it's not a big deal, but it's not fair to us.
Load More Replies...It's a fire hazard, call landlord or dispose of it. Oh, whilst you are at it, dispose of your bf too, he's a grotty bastard.
Fire hazard / vermin nesting place / tripping hazard.
Load More Replies...The boyfriend has seriously low standards if he is making his partner feel crazy for not being ok with this. I would probably call the landlord to complain and then ditch the boyfriend.
Call the landlord, yes. Ditch the boyfriend for being ok with a pile of laundry? Jeez, I'd hate to step on your eggshells!
Load More Replies...I would throw it all away and play dumb like someone must have stolen them. Or I would wash them and then donate them. Do a good deed and teach a lesson.
You know, this is stuff that should be in the laundry hamper—-inside their apartment! Contact the landlord or building management about it. Find out if you’re able to throw it out after X number of days—-bring a large shovel and be sure to wear a hazmat suit. So when the slobs finally come to do their smelly, hazardous waste laundry, they’ll have to pick it out of the dumpster where it belongs.
I would bag it all up and drop it in front of their door. If they did it again, I would put it in the dumpster.
Omg, this reminds me of when my husband & I were searching to buy our first home. The one place we went to, the laundry room was chaos. It wasn’t a small area either. But the floor was covered in dirty clothing. Not only that, but they had somehow created a literal hill of soiled clothing on top of that. It was between 5.5 - 6 ft tall! It stunk & was just so disgusting.
We had a completely different problem in the common washing and drying room of our apartment building, there were clean clothes drying for weeks. Likewise, there were plastic bags full of clean clothes in the washroom. In the end, they went to charity. Strange, as if someone had just left everything and moved away.
Gather it all up, stuff it into garbage bags, & take the bags to the nearest dumpster.
bag it up and throw it out - excuse - you thought it was garbage!!!!
I'd dettol spray it to hell to start with because they're obviously disgusting people, then a call to building maintenance
IMHO, it's fine if you want to neaten up the area. I'm sure the.Salvation Army would be happy to have them!
I suggest you wash them and give them to the charity shop. Abandoned goods.
Yes, this is wrong. Your BF has no problem with it? Does he exhibit other odd decision-making skills? Is he worth it?
Get a new boyfriend. This would absolutely drive me up the wall. Talk about nasty!
Nooo seriously eww it's not even bagged up or anything total disrespect for shared space
call the fire dept. to have them assess the risk of fire here. Or tell the neighbors they either store their laundry in their home or do it immediately when they bring it down.
Wow, they sure are trusting...would be a real shame if any of that starts going missing...
Your bf isn't a good bf, you need to find one who respect you instead of treating you the way he does
I would ask them, if those dirty clothes belongs to them. If they answered no, it must belong to someone who don't miss them and then I would throw them away.
Start tossing one piece from the pile in the trash every day. Eventually they'll get the message. If you really want to creep them out, put on gloves and start by tossing their underwear first.
At that point they are discarded and you can do with them as you wish.
Should wash their clothes than take it inside and they ask what happen to it, tell them that you wash their clothes and if they want it back tell them it will cost then $100 for your time and effort to wash their clothes.
Put them in garbage bags and drop them off in front of their door (after taking pictures for the landlord). If it continues to happen THROW THEM OUT.
I hate to touch others dirty clothes, but all of their stuff at the foot of the stairs. Use a snow shovel or some other tool.
Why does everyone jump to calling the landlord or throwing the stuff away? Why would (seemingly) nobody try talking to the NEIGHBOURS responsible? If you talk to them and they didn't realise what they did wasn't OK (and I've seen too many posts about what weird things people assume to be normal), things might change. If you go to a higher authority and the neighbour didn't even know there was a problem, you've got a pissed of neighbour for who knows how long, same with just destroying or taking away their things. I've known people with depression who collected a bathtub full of laundry before they got help, so maybe I'm a bit more lenient, but talking to the neighbour seems obvious, right?!
Tell landlord, talk to them about this. Or just throw a few pieces away every other day. Eventually the pile is gone or they move it
I mean..... I'm way worse but at least it's MY space. And it's mostly in baskets. Just... lots.
Totally unacceptable. Put it all in a big trash bag and put it outside.
First of all, the neighbors should definitely keep their laundry in their own home. Period. Or at least have the decency to use a laundry bag or something and put it all in! Who the hell is ok with their neighbors seeing their dirty clothes (especially panties and lingerie)?! My parents used to work long ours so we've always been so lucky to have a lady coming a few times a week to clean the house. Well, not even once my mom made her deal with our laundry, like loading the washing machine or something like that. Never. She always did it herself and taught us kids how to do it as soon as we were old enough. The only person who should see your dirty panties is yourself, thank you very much!
This is a problem. That pile is perfect for breeding bacteria and housing small woodland creatures. Nobody wants to smell your dirty chonies bro. Imagine what their apartment looks like..
The caption is giving me a headache. Aren't the two things same?? This however is totally unacceptable, you're not crazy.
I'd bag those dirty clothes and toss them in the communal dumpster; clearly, they are abandoned.
Fire hazard I'd say. All into the dumpster after a friendly reminder
My daughter, she does this!! My washer, is right next to the back door. I have to put it in baskets, and stack them! Some of those clothes, have been there for a YEAR!!! When she blocks the back door, I get scared we will have a fire, and can't get out. She only washes clothes once a month, and only a few loads.
That is just gross. Report them to the landlord. The laundry room is where you DO laundry, not store it.

Load More Replies...Some of these make me feel great about some of the lazy things I do because theirs is lazy to the 10th power!
I feel like a lot of these could be clearly be explained and are just posted without context for rage bait. Also as someone with a disability who has done a few of the things in the list it honestly hurts that default assumption is lazy for things that could clearly be caused by disabled people trying to live in an abled world.
Well, that just reaffirmed my belief that humans are an ongoing mistake...
There was some sad examples of laziness, that I almost forgot how good it is, that humans are lazy. That gets us to invent washing machines, vacuum cleaners, lawn movers to use instead of tubs for washing by hand, brooms and scythes for the grass.
Okay but some of these comments were much worse, a lot of them could be understood in context I think
I can't understand the logic behind hanging poop bags on trees and fences and I see this everyday, so this is pretty common practice. Why? If you're really too lazy to take a bag with you, just leave the c**p on a ground and rain will wash it off. I'm not saying people should leave the poop, but putting it in the bag, and hanging it on a fence is extra work, and it's even more disgusting.
I didn't see your opinion anywhere, just this post. I, personally, don't downvote a differing opinion, just if someone is utterly being vile. BTW, I upvoted this post. Tried to negate some other àsshole!! :)
