Oh, the sweetness of sheer unapologetic laziness… Is it just a lack of willpower? Maybe it’s a state of mind, a hedonism-inspired lifestyle, a rebellion of modern kind. All jokes aside, calling someone “lazy” is somewhat an insult, especially in societies where hard work and productivity are valued highly (we’re looking at you, America!).
Having said that, a 2019 Pew survey found that a majority of Americans think people are lazier now than they used to be. But we can all discuss what being dubbed lazy actually means.
For some it's a lack of physical activity, for others it may be lack of will to do even the most routine and boring tasks. And while it’s totally normal to have a brief episode of idleness, if it lasts too long, you’re suddenly playing dangerous games.
So today, we’re diving deep into real-life examples of people succumbing to their laziness, by choice or accident. The result is an uncanny collection of pics that may make you laugh, infuriate you or give you a moment to reflect on your own lazy side.

Multiple Reasons Why You Should Put Your Cart Back And Not Be Lazy
Super frustrating to see this. My dad is a paraplegic due to a car accident. We both nearly died, no exaggeration. This type of c**p happens all the time. I’ve seen two healthy 19 yr old dudes park in a handicap parking space at the bank. Most folks excuses are, “oh I’ll only be one second”. NO ONE is ever just one second. The laziness & sense of entitlement is brewing rampant across the globe. This is not something unique to one race or moral beliefs. It’s a complete lack of common courtesy.
Laziness can lash out at us at every corner, especially at times when we need to be at our most productive. Think of work deadlines, important meetings and calls, bills to be paid and things to be done. Sometimes it’s little things that we can’t force our bodies to push through– from household chores to dragging ourselves to the gym.
And while we all have brief moments of idleness (which may feel pretty indulgent!), at some point it becomes a genuine problem. So to find out more about what’s actually happening in our minds when we’re lazy, how to cope with it we reached out to two experts: Christine Mitterbauer, a licensed and ICF-approved career, and life coach and serial entrepreneur, as well as Dr. Audrey Tang, a chartered psychologist, media spokesperson and author of multiple books, including "Be A Great Manager Now", "The Leader's Guide to Mindfulness."
People Who Do This Are Just The Worst
You might as well steal it if you are going to do that. It will cost the supermarket just the same!
It’ll cost less, considering the time, chemicals and labor it will take to clean this. That whole shells should be sterilized now

I eat some meat so I don't mean to be a hypocrite but, more than just the wasteful aspect of this, like 10 animals had to die- probably a brutal and horrible death- in order for someone to eat this. Leaving food like this is just so pointless and sad. Just bring it to the register with you and ask them to put it back. They will with no problem. Can we not give the poor animals some basic dignity by at least not just throwing them in the garbage? This kind of waste is totally preventable.
I like everything you've said here but sad to say they are unlikely to be able to put the food back. They can't tell how long it's been out of refrigeration, unfortunately, and most supermarkets don't take the risk.
Load More Replies...I agree. I get told by my PARENTS (on occasion) to "just put it anywhere" and I'm like... "NO."
When I was in college, I was shopping with some friends and one girl did this. When I looked horrified that she was going to leave it there, she told me "they have people for this". She was not happy when I grabbed it and ran it to where it belonged because it took a few minutes and she had to wait.
I can't think of a worse place to leave raw chicken than the candy section. Maybe directly on top of the lettuce, but you wash lettuce before you eat it and you aren't an impulsive child who puts anything into their mouth.
Agreed. You don't have to put it back exactly where you got it, but at least put cold s**t back in a fridge you troglodytes. I deal with this bs regularly at my c-store, and it's just laziness pure and simple. Stupid f*cks.
If I change my mind about an item, I take it back to where I picked it up, even if that's on the other end of a large store.
It's not that hard to just swing by the section again and put it in its proper place. Or even let an employee know, hey I don't want this anymore
I will find you and I will place you in the middle of a desert with this package of chicken.
Seriously people should be charged for doing this, because it's destroying a product and costing the store money.
Arrrgh! You can give it to the cashier at checkout and have them return it to the shelf. They are usually happy to do so.
I don't care about the cost to the giant corporation, but this is wasteful. Plain and simple. Rude, lazy, and wasteful.
the real criminals are the store workers who put the meat back in the meat dept. after it has sat out unrefrigerated for 3 days... do you know you can substitute the word "Salmonella" for "Hallelujah" when singing the hallelujah chorus on the way to the emergency room for food poisoning? Nope, no fun at all...
When I worked at Aldi and was doing the early morning shift (before the shop opened) I noticed that a pack of bacon looked off colour. I chucked it in the cart thing that we were pulling around for empty boxes, to dispose of later and my supervisor pulled it out and told me to put it back. I refused and said that if she were a customer and picked that up would she buy it? She then chucked it back in the cart. I quit not long after
Load More Replies...As my husband and I discussed over tonight's dinner, I hate to waste anything, especially food. This utter laziness was not tolerated years ago, and normal people just wouldn't act like this.
If you change your mind about an item, just tell the cashier. They will have it put back. No need to be an a$$hole about it.
World full of disrespectful uneducated ppl due to not being raised rt like the older generations I hate ppl
When I'm at the supermarket I keep finding this sort of thing and it's SO infuriating. I always pick it up and return it to where it's supposed to be, as long as it's still cold.
Ugh, this is so gross! My family makes a point of bringing that stuff up to the front and explaining where we found it.
It takes less than a minute to hand it to a store employee to put back. People who do this are trash.
My girlfriend has always thought i was funny for walking a item back to where i got it. Even if its in huge store and items place is plum across store. Neither of us has ever laid no raw meat down not in a fridge of some sort. She won't even do that.
Yes, I agree. Hate it when I see someone had pick up something to buy then decided not to buy it then just put it down wherever they are at instead of returning it to it proper spot. See this all the time when grocery shopping.
Yeah I hate seeing the random thing not where it's supposed to be.....apart from food going off and pure laziness it just pissed me off cos ...not where it's supposed to be.....aahhh
If l see anyone do this l embarrass the c**p out of them in front of everyone till they usually leave the store!
I have a friend who does this all the time and I constantly told them that it isn't right. Their excuse was something like, "I worked retail before. It's part of the job."
If I see things like that , I'll put it back in the case as long as it's still cold enough and doesn't feel like it's been out for too long
As people who eat meat, we should be a lot more self aware about it. An animal has to die to provide that meal; we can, at the least, be respectful of that enough to not throw it in the trash.
Saw this at the checkstand in a supermarket just today. Seriously, is the roof going to cave in, in the time it takes to walk the item back to where it belongs? Perishables left out get thrown out, costing the store--and the customer--a pretty penny.
What a good piece of chocolate! Looks just like the Lindor beside it…
Hmmm somethings out of place here but I can’t quite figure it out

Dr. Tang argues that laziness becomes a problem when you are either no longer contributing fairly to what you are receiving and requiring others to take the strain (with little thought to their wellbeing and efforts), or it is standing in the way of your own achievement of personal goals and desires.“In the latter case (and sometimes in the former) - this can speak to a lack of motivation, and, sometimes, the lack of desire to do anything can be a symptom of depression. In which case it can be helpful to ask yourself why this is happening,” she explained.

This Is Embarrassing
So here are some important questions to ask yourself, according to Dr. Tang: “Think of a goal, have you got it?” and next, “Think of all the things you need to do to achieve it.”
“Small manageable chunks, with focus – you should be achieving that in no time – go you!”
“Seems straightforward, doesn’t it?” Dr. Tang asks. “And this is a goal you’ve had for some time, plus those steps are probably quite easy…”
Dr. Tang invites us to think about everything we did yesterday–”how many of those things contributed TO your goal or simply distracted you from it (Netflix binges, scrolling mindlessly through social media, any psychodramas you got caught up in)?”

According to Dr. Tang, our brains are amazing since they are capable of so much. “And yet we often apply their energy and drive ineffectively due to habit, laziness, or simply because we don’t know any other way.”
It’s important to realize that it is not the big choices that we make that shape our lives the most – “whether to buy that house, whether to take that job, whether to get into a relationship with that person… because they are clearly defined and they have an exit strategy,” she said and added that “it is the little choices you make every day that really make up who you are.”

Dr. Tang gave an example: “Do you have the apple instead of the donut? Do you take 5 minutes for yourself, or do you say 'yes' to every person who asks? Do you choose to speak kindly to you, or do you berate yourself for 'just not being good enough?'”
According to the award-winning book author and spokesperson, “if we can focus on making as many little healthy choices as possible, we’ll be living the life we want, rather than seeking motivation to move towards it.”

Wow....such a bunch of lazy useless disrespectful people in this world.....yup, I'm angry, that's it.
Same I should not have read this because now I’m so angry.
Load More Replies...Some of these make me feel great about some of the lazy things I do because theirs is lazy to the 10th power!
I feel like a lot of these could be clearly be explained and are just posted without context for rage bait. Also as someone with a disability who has done a few of the things in the list it honestly hurts that default assumption is lazy for things that could clearly be caused by disabled people trying to live in an abled world.
Well, that just reaffirmed my belief that humans are an ongoing mistake...
There was some sad examples of laziness, that I almost forgot how good it is, that humans are lazy. That gets us to invent washing machines, vacuum cleaners, lawn movers to use instead of tubs for washing by hand, brooms and scythes for the grass.
Okay but some of these comments were much worse, a lot of them could be understood in context I think
I can't understand the logic behind hanging poop bags on trees and fences and I see this everyday, so this is pretty common practice. Why? If you're really too lazy to take a bag with you, just leave the c**p on a ground and rain will wash it off. I'm not saying people should leave the poop, but putting it in the bag, and hanging it on a fence is extra work, and it's even more disgusting.
I didn't see your opinion anywhere, just this post. I, personally, don't downvote a differing opinion, just if someone is utterly being vile. BTW, I upvoted this post. Tried to negate some other àsshole!! :)
