I travel the streets of New York in search of the street flyers with a message. This is what I've found.

Why is this strange? Seams like a good sign to me. Some people are crazy and like hurting animals for no reason. It is wrong not to stop people from doing that.

@Clair Shamgochian Maybe the strange part is that this pigeon netting phenomena is happening and actually reacquires a sign to be put up to warn people about it.

Dove hunting is a big sport in PA and other states around there.Mourning Doves are the natural species there. Over hunting for sport has caused them to decline. Pigeons are a type of dove and closely resemble mourning doves, especially when flying. I suspect that the landowners are trapping pigeons to release on their land to keep the sport going.

is this old? pigeon shoots have been banned as entertainment in PA. it started to control overpopulation. unfortunately it became a tradition and birds were trapped or raised for the annual event until someone had the sense to stop it.

How do they know what is being done with the birds if this is in NY but they're taking them to Pennsylvania? And, I doubt there is a shortage of birds in PA. This seems like the paranoid conspiracy ramblings I'll see posted around San Francisco.

this isn't strange a lot of people hurt animals for fun and this is a notice so people recognise this behavior .

Wait. So now some poor animal control officer is gonna get beat up for doing his job of catching pigeons. Assuming since it was banned that people weren't doing the right thing, but I thought pigeon populations in NY were out of control. We hunt hogs like crazy down south because of overpopulation. Typically we give the meat to local friends and family, trap pigs for donation. However edible pigeons might be, it really would be hard to do the same. So why not allow folks to capture and kill the birds as long as they are cared for properly before shooting them? Sensitive subject for sure but just wanted to get others thoughts on the matter.
