Man Moving Into A New House Finds A Dog Left Behind In The Basement, And The Dog’s Reaction Says It All

The dog ( jumpingBean )is healthy.. I've followed abuse & neglect of animal for too long . raised on a cattle farm with other livestock , horses etc. .. I have 5 rescue dogs . she has had some of her basic needs met .. Probably not emotional . I wish they would check her for a chip . the homeless Person or whomever may have stolen her for his self serving purpose , protection,(security alarm ) a companion or had planned to sell her on the street for fighting etc. .there are so many twisted agendas among messed up people ..it may had been too risky for him to go back in .. AND THERE IS THE BEST SCENARIO : HE LOVED HER ENOUGH TO LET HER GO , KNOWING HE WAS GIVEN HER THE BEST ODDS : RESCUE & FREEDOM .. IM UP VOTING YOUR. 'DANCING TO MYSELF 'S POST !!! GOOD CALL!!! KUDOS !

If you watch the video, the rescuers say that she's been down there for quite some time by all the poop on the floor. She doesn't look too skinny, but it's hard to tell with all her wiggling. She does look a bit like she hasn't been fed well, and I bet she was very thirsty! (No water or food was left for her.) I've met some homeless people who have dogs; they care more about the dog than themselves and would have taken her with them, not left her on a short chain in a basement. I doubt the "squatter" cared as much. However, I'm glad that she's in good hands with a rescue group!

I was thinking the same thing, it looks like a squater got scared away and left the poor puppy. I hate to think that someone is missing their dog right now, but at least she has a more stable home.

Agreed. Not to say that it's not sad and that it couldn't have been much worse but we don't know why she got left behind. It likely wasn't intentional.

No I think you're right she didn't seem malnourished but again leaving a pupper tied in a basement is just messed up. I like to think people are generally good so to self sooth I'm gonna say she was left there for a few hours maybe and it was intentional because the squatter knew they couldn't properly care for her so they made sure she was found. I'm just glad she's ok and still a sweet heart

Man! My family were poor asf but we're rich enough to feed three dogs. Having dog doesn't mean spending hundred dollars.

I would love to think so, but I think this happens more often than we realize. A co-worker got his dog the same way. Someone bought a new house and there was a dog in it that had been left behind. People suck.

Maybe?? Nahhhhh...i think the idiot who left the dog there should be prosecuted..he or she should not left the poor dog behind in the first place..right?

Better still a NO-KILL SHELTER. The "Humane Society" who lives off our tax dollars needs to provide free or cheap spay and neuter services and then there wouldn't be so many strays and abandoned animals.

I don't think it was the previous owners. The real estate agent and inspectors would have found her. I think it was a squatter who, for some unknown reason, left the dog behind. Maybe got arrested? Who knows....
